Why are people voting Nintendo? Most of what they have done is wii sports resort and other simple games.

RadecSupreme

All Sony does is shooters.

Atleast a shooter has a storyline, setting, important characters, and a fun and interactive experience. I'd prefer that over a simple Wii sports resort. I like to support developers who put more time and effort into their games.

You do understand that there are more franchises by Nintendo right? At least I hope you do.

For me, I pick Nintendo (Shocking). I also perfer Sony's 1st party development also. Microsoft has absolutely no in-house talent. All they do is buy other companies to do their games for them and for exclusive things like DLC what not. And when they've had their fun they toss them to the side of the road (See: Rare, Ensemble Studios) to find their next victim. A buisness strategy I like to call....the Activision complex. :o!

I'll be interested in Nintendo again when they choose to use a regular controller.Raging_Nebula

*****c Controller Pro says hi.

As for the topic at hand, yes I am a fan of Nintendo. I fell out my mom's womb with a GameBoy in my hand.

golden eye is an awful game. Surprised wii fans like awful games.

foxhound_fox

After things like Pokemon Stadium and Crystal Bearers receiving massive hype... you're surprised? I've noticed a trend among Wii fans, they tend to hype anything that could end up possibly being good, and then as soon as they start releasing material that shows it won't be living up to its potential, they start to slowly back down with the hype and ignore the fact they ever hyped it. I remember doing it myself, when I was a sheep, with games like Pokemon Stadium and Oopoona, and other games I really had not real interest in, despite them being on the Wii and looking decent.

2010 isn't over yet, so its impossible to say anything "officially" about any of the systems yet... but I don't doubt the PC will end up having the best 2010 overall, as it always does every year. And I also don't doubt this Goldeneye will end up being a mediocre Activision game for the Wii that receives a fair score and fair sales, that ends up not living up to the hype.

You mean howXbots vividly displayed today as a reaction to Microsoft's press conference today.

VERY disappointed. We got some quick views of a few sequels we knew about... new CoD looks decent, new Halo looks... just like every other Halo. I'm sure the 12 year old fanboys are freaking though... more power to em. I could care less. I've never been a big Metal Gear fan, but the game looked impressive. I love the Fable games, but the little preview of Fable 3 was disappointing (though I still have high hopes for the game itself, the preview just didn't show much to excite me). The new Crytec game? Some spartan looking dude... meh. Gears 3 looks pretty cool.

Then it went downhill FAST.

Ok, so we get "Pet The Kitty Cat", "Wii Sports Ripoff (With Bowling!!!)", "Wii Fit Ripoff", "Pretend You're Jumping On A Raft", "Whack Balls Around With Your Body", "Not Mario Kart", "Epileptic Flamer Dancing Revolution Go-time"... WTF is this garbage? I have a Wii... it's cool for parties or playing with a girl, but I don't need another one even if it does it a bit better.

I can watch ESPN on my Xbox. Whoopee. I can watch ESPN on my TV... though I don't because I don't like watching big guys in tights try and jump on each other and sports are for intellectually challenged date rapists (calm down, jocks, I'm joking. Look, a shiny quarter!)

I can tell my Xbox what to do. Whoopee. It's really much easier to push a button. Oh, I can also control the fast forward with my hand.... again, overcomplicating something that works fine as it is.

Oh, sweet I can.... huh? Look at a car? Umm.... yeah. I can go out in my driveway and look at my car. I can play Forza by holding my hands out in front of me? Ok... how do I control speed, shifting, braking? Won't my arms get tired after holding them in front of me for an hour? Again... the controller works fine for this. I don't see this helping immersion at all. STAR WARS!! OMFG I love Star Wars. Seriously. I've even watched the prequels like 10 times. But... this game looks horrible. An on-rails lightsaber game with dated graphics. How do you take Star Wars with 3D spatial recognition motion control and totally f' it up? I dunno, but they did.

Finally... NEW XBOX 360!!! YAAAY AWESOME!!! Oh... wait... that's right... I already have one. I think it's a great move for the company... I really do. They NEEDED to bring out built-in wifi. It's about damn time. But I'm not personally excited about it. I think it looks pretty ugly too, but maybe that's just me.

The gist I got from the whole presentation was "Hey, core gamers!! We have a few sequels coming out. Cool huh? Anyways, you can leave the room now... we'd like to have a little talk with your little sister and your grandma for an hour or so..."

I was really counting on them showing Pre-Natal or Telekinectic (or whatever they're calling it) games for the core gamer... but we got the shaft.

Oh... also... SKITTLES!!!

decepticondevil

This.

At first I thought it would be like Nintendo E3 '09 (which I thought was awesome. lots-a suprises). Then I watched, and I got a little bored. Then the Kinect came on board and I was all like this:

Wii Ripoffs......really Microsoft? REALLY?

Any ways here's to you Microsoft you deserve it.

There are several major flaws in the Wii's online system. However, it isn't all that bad (at least for me). I've rarely encountered lag and I sometimes get disconnected from other players. But it isn't that bad. Remember, this is their 1st full-fledged venture into online. It won't be as good as an online service from an electronics giant and a software company.

[QUOTE="Ravensmash"][QUOTE="HavocV3"]

their average scores from this gen compared to their N64 'glory days' is only a 2% difference.

too bad people won't give up the Rare hate around here.

HavocV3

It's ridiculous. I'm thinking it's more to do with the fact they're an MS first party nowadays.... Off topic: Just played a demo of Nuts and Bolts recently....how amazing does that game look visually?!

wouldn't surprise me:? MS's handling of Rare looks pretty healthy, they've worked on 3 IPs for the 360 this gen. they all scored AA or above on MC. and MS allowed them to make some Nintendo DS games as well. it defeats the ideal that MS only allows their devs. to make one game or work on 1 IP.

and their 'soul', Free Radical, made a 50-something on MC with glitches galore, but when they were rumored to be working on Crysis 2 MP and possibly Timesplitters, there was no quality problems or issues:| Free Radical is still teh bezt.

whatever, SW logic is like a whole language.

It's just that Rare's quality of games have changed over the years that turns most people off.

I like their first one. Reminds me of those goldeneye deathmatch days

darksidecelica

I think the first one was the best. Even the intros were better. I remember seeing the metallic Nintendo logo flying outta nowhere with this deep action music playing in the background indicating the epicness of the game.

I don't understand the logic in comparing a soundtrack from the 90s to a soundtrack from modern days. If we were comparing this to say.......Mario World or Yoshi's Island I might understand. But......A) Sonic Boom kicks wayyy more a**, B) Mario Galaxy is orchastrated thus (IMO) making it better, and C) [this is random] the Metroid series kicks both Galaxy and Sonic CD out the water.

Just sayin'......:P
