Right now I have nothing to play but my wii as my PS3 has ylod and psp screen has cracked. Wii is a good system with some good games like mario galaxy, brawl, NSMB, the wii spots type stuff, ect. However While Ive been sitting playing Ive noticed that aside from Nintendo's first party there really isnt anything good on wii to play. While its true some gems like RED STEEL 2 and dead space extraction have come out I feel almost as if waiting for some good stuff on Wii means just waiting formiyamoto to make some new stuff. Another prob is there isnt really any of this new stuff. While remaking the ****c adventure of saving the princess while mixing up gameplay is good it can only go so far. Miyamoto needs to make a new good ip and not just some old core gameplay mechanic hes used for the past 25 years. I know they guy has stated he doesn't like making M rated games and thats fine because M rating doesnt equal better. However it be nice if he could try thinking up a new epic tale with a champion story like mgs, or uncharted series.

I know questioning anything Nintendo on this board will get me flammed enough to heat my house for the winter but doesn't anyone else kinda Nintendo would dare I say..............Try something Completely NEW. And by new I dont mean making another mario/zelda/brawl/cart game add a new mechanic and slap on the wordnew I mean NEW HERO, NEW VILLAIN, NEW STORY, MIXED UP GAMEPLAY (no game can be completely new gameplay wise but that doesnt mean they can mix up of ideas from other games and evolve them), ect. If you've read my OP before posting start your reply with chicken :-)

Edit: GS doesnt like the word C L A S S I C

Respawn-d

Chicken....Robot

Bold text: Monster Hunter Tri and Virtual Console say hello along with the other decent 3rd party games for Wii.

Red text: You do realize that there are other companies besides Nintendo that "reuse" their games. Have you ever heard of the phrase "Don't fix what ain't broke". Mario stays the same for a reason. Because it's a mechanic that works and people love. I can (and will) name a list of games/franchises that haven't changed a bit over the years:

1. Street Fighter

2. Madden

3. Guitar Hero

4. Rock Band (Guitar Hero's twin brother)

5. Dynasty Warriors

6. Actually, just to save me some time and effort I'll say this: Any game/franchise that has ever had a sequal can be considered a rehash. Why? Because a vast majority of them haven't changed a bit over the years. And why hasn't it changed? Because it f'n works. And what's wrong with "reusing" a game mechanich. I say as long as saving the princess is fun to meit's a good game. Why do think people play games for? Because they're fun!!! Xbox Live wouldn't exist if it wasn't fun.

Just take this into consideration.

[QUOTE="Willy105"]The DS, Wii and GBA did not have droughts.Ratchet_Fan8
the wii is currently having one,2 years and still no AAAE,sure it has AAE'/AA's,but for SW-worthy,you need AAAE's

So in order for a system to be considered to have no droughts it must first get approval from a group of jaded fanboys on an online forum who already hate that system (the Wii in this case)system to the bone.

Just askin'.

On another note, maybe it's not droughts we gamers experience. Maybe there aren't too many games on the selective systems we own that interest us so we buy less games.

Just a thought.

Have all three and for a long time. In fact Wednesday night I decided to replay Echoes on Hard Mode, without a guide. It took me like a dozen tries to take down the dang Boost Guardian man is he hard!! You know, the boost guardian in metroid prime 2 on a gamecube disc, and not that total wuss method that developers decided to ease and dumb down on it the Metroid Prime Trilogy.wiifan001

I never played the original Primes on the GC which is one of the reasons I bought the Trilogy. Also, I gave away my copy of Corruption to a friend because I already had the Trilogy and I didn't feel the need to hold on to it.

It's a lost video of the French Metroid Prime Trilogy launch.

I'm suprised no one has ever discovered this. I kinda feel like Indiana Jones...

I choose Mario Galaxy.

However, I'm waiting for Metroid: Other M, Galaxy 2 and NSMBWii(I couldn't get it earlier because no one was carrying it during the X-Mas rush.)

Actually what you guys are describing as casual games are mainstreamed games. The game mechanics from MW to MW2 changed in order to make it more accessible.

Hardcore / casual is a st.yle, it's how you play games. You can play MKWii in a casual or hardcore fashion. For example, casuals don't know how to dodge POW blocks, etc.

gammon56

Pardon my n00bism, but how do you dodge POW blocks?

They cant hit you if you are in the air. see i know nintendo stuff.

I knew about that. I thought it was someting else I had to do to avoid it on the ground.

I agree with you.

Sports Games and Call of Duty I would say are just as Casual as Just Dance for the Wii.

Finally!!! I've been thinking this same thing for years. I don't play shooters these days because they just seem a bit too easy for me. I remember actually trying hard to stay aliveby finding extra ammo and health packs which were very hard to find. Now it's like "Need more health...hide behind a rock for a couple of seconds" or "Wanna win the game but you're in last place....shoot the guy who worked hard to get to first place to compensate for your horrible skills!!

[QUOTE="oldkingallant"] I was a Nintendo fan and I've so far received the best 3-D Mario platformer, a solid 2-D Mario platformer, a great new Metroid Prime (along with redone, superior versions of the first two games), a Zelda, then a bunch of random very fun games (that I will list if need be, but I'm hoping you can just believe me so I don't have to waste my time). Think I'm pretty happy with my purchase. Have a PS3, Wii, 360, and an ok PC. I like the Wii better than all except my PS3, which I like about as much or a bit more. I highly doubt you own all systems, and therefore have a more clouded view on the matter. You don't know about all the great AA games on the Wii, so stop trashing it. By the way, where do you think the majority of PS3 and 360 sales come from? The hardcore? No it's all from the casuals playing Call of Duty. Pretty much everyone I know has a 360 and pretty much all they plays is Call of Duty. They are all casual gamers. Some games on the Wii Legend of Zelda or Little King's Story (yes, it's hardcore) offer a more hardcore experience than any game on any other system, particularly LKS. The only game I've played this gen that's more "hardcore" than LKS this gen is Demon's Souls, which I love and am playing for the second time right now. Name any game you think is more hardcore, I can almost guarantee you I've played it. Oh and there's a twist: you have to have played it, so no obscure Japanese games that you've never played.LegatoSkyheart

Yup, 'tis the end as we know it for shooters. IW is dying and Bungie just sold their souls to the devil.
