[QUOTE="charizard1605"][QUOTE="Malta_1980"]It's like the difference between GTA San Andreas and GTA IV. On a sheer technical scale, which is better? GTA IV. Yet which is more fun? GTA SA. Games dont get their soul from their gameplay mechanics or their polish as you seem to imply- there's something else they should have, something that can't be quanitifed. It's the reason why SNES games are still better than anything any modern console can churn out today. Wow you are horribly wrong. Your bias or nostalgia means nothing with regard to a games quality :? And Red Dead Redemption is better than just about any SNES game you care to mention. The 'soul' as you say means nothing.. i know what you mean with charm and everything but you know that comes not from the game mechanics itself but from the lovable Nintendo characters in it...
as i said am not implying that MK has terrible gameplay, its a great game but surely its gets points for having those famous nintendo characters in it..
Finally, the same fun you have when a friend of yours unleashes weapons etc on your while racing, is the same you would get when in MNR your pal would fire at you the weapons collected while racing... MNR doesnt lack fun, fun cannot be measured... in MK you are racing a kart from point A to B against opponents, and that is fun.. in MNR you are doing the same and that is not FUN???? i will never understand that..
