I high doubt that ET still has a very active community. With games like Bad Company 2 and MW2(I'm not saying it's good, but the community is huge), heck even counter-strike, ET barely stands out, if at all...

CS is the king of FPS, vastly more popular than Terribad Company 2.
Apparently there was some .DLL in the MW2 files that VAC was supposed to ignore but Steam stuffed up and VAC started returning false positives, some non hackers were banned before they corrected the issue. They have since gone through unbanning everyone who was banned as a result and are giving out free copies of L4D2 as an apology.
Even though I wasn't affected it's reassuring as a big steam customer that they do keep an eye on VAC and make sure people aren't getting banned for no reason.

Yea it said about 12,000 people got banned on accident, so thats a lot of L4D2 copies

I payed 60 bucks for this game, and some of this went to infinityward for sure, and a little bit to steam for sure, so what are they waiting for? What's you guys opinions on this?

by buying this game you deserve whatever that's happening to you.
Well have to agree with Vetnor just reinstall it theres a pretty easy way of doing it. Just goto the folder where its installed and delete everything except the steamapps folder and the steam.exe.
Then just double click on the steam.exe and it will reinstall itself.

A question..: Do i uninstall the games too? That took me 2 days to download because this is a new comp...
No all your games are contained in the steamapps folder which you're not deleting. When you start steam again after reinstalling it will say update paused next to all your games, click resume updating and they'll all change to 100% ready instantly.
So yeah just delete everything within the Steam folder except for steamapps and the Steam.exe and you should be fine.
