Alucard: It is to be expected. It is good you've gotten used to it..because now you won't be Mmzaking the errors I did when I first played through it..basically just going about it all wrong *whoring magic for instance*
Actually, I hadn't noted this fact (AotF+RotT). Too bad we only get to truely whore this in CotT4. We can use this in the Lahkesis boss fight and perhaps the Sisters of Fate fight *an exploit I've been testing concerning getting a counter-less usage of the AotF*. Thanks for bringing it up.
booyakasha: You shouldn't be letting the Priest summon help. He should be grabbed to death and used for MP orbs for blasting big groups with AQ. Wraiths should be tied up with CR and BoO should be used PERIOD. DR whoring between CR is great for Wraiths. DR up close takes Hades Minotaurs and Hades Fiends apart. I find that fight pretty easy and once you use the proper strategy..you will too..you could even find yourself enjoying it. I don't recall any timelimit for that Challenge..then again..I don't take too long there anyway.
The 9 Wraiths aren't a whole lot harder with lvl1 Hammer. lvl1 BoO is a NIGHTMARE to use for them w/o magic/RotT..give that a whirl.
COPYPASTA FROM SDA *myself speaking of course*
Using lessons from you guys, I was able to find and test a few new things while playing around in the Palace of the Fates.
1. In the Spike Floor room w/ Nymphs. Trying to go over the door you entered from while land you above the door where you can fall until dead while being stuck in air. (usage of Icarus Wings will allow an escape..you can also *if not fully stuck* get off with attacks).
I was able to use this as a place to avoid fighting the Nymphs but it was more trouble then it was worth.
Verdict: Not very useful.
2. After Skipping the cinematic as you get to the place where you later battle the Kraken, I was trying to skip the fire wall/jets (so getting the crank, turning the lever. etc. wouldn't be necessary. I eventaully met success thanks to getting a hang of shenminiu's Hammer only Infinite Jump.
At the Door of the Warrior *Entrance to the Underground*, facing the left corner. I used 2-3 lifts (air MotK) and stood on land just beneath the floor where you pull the lever *using the crank*. Quickly I leapt foward and flew towards the first solid piece of land past the fire jets which was that little area where there is an EXP chest. Upon landing I was pleased at the small success. It should save a few seconds and can be done in NP.
Verdict: Useful
3. I tried tricking the AI of the Translator of Lahkesis area with various things. Leaping over the door prior to the room where you crush scaffolding for the block, just leaving using RJWaters2's skip *even returning afterwards or using a skip that WITH the Ram key, allows for another, slower way past that door..I thought just returning to the area loaded would allow for a skip to the next section but if refuses to load witout at least getting that key* and even leaving during Wave 3 *the next area unloads once the wave fights load*.
I once put the Translator in a corner *in that room* and place the block in front of him so I could fight as I liked without worrying about him *though he isn't hard to defend in waves 1 and 2*
Verdict: Futile. We are c***blocked at everyturn.
~Now that I've gotten a hang of this trick, I'll be seeing what else there is of note throughout the game
I've haven't enjoyed a whole lot of success since..I peaked through a floor to the Auditorium of Atropos (2nd Translator) which would be a great skip..but couldn't get through. I can now skip the cinematic before the Phoenix/Ice Puzzle but I don't know how well usage of CR over it *to break the ice early* will be...will have to return later to test that.
I was able to (in the 'Underground' prior to the Phoenix Chamber) skip through a wall (where the 4 Cursed Archers who guard the ceiling are) and out another (next to the gap across from where the Gift of Magic is hidden) which if done perfectly..could be a tiny bit faster..perhaps not though. Justsomething to note though.
