The Hotseat: ME

Well, we'll see however. Since my blog feels like a chill wind is running through it, I decided to try out myself on the famous hotseat that you'll see in many unions since I have yet to find myself there. :) But as you should all know, simply ask a question and I"ll answer it truthfully. It can be about my military days, my contract days doing security, about my inner life, my cat, etc. lol. So please, ask away if you want. :P

Fable 2: Good or Evil Path?

GOOD OR EVIL

I will admit that I have been waiting for Fable 2 to come out ever since it was announced and while waiting for it, I've been playing alot of the first Fable: The Lost Chapters. Playing it has me even more hyped for its release and my 360 is almost oozing wanting it so badly. Now here's my question for those who will be playing it. Good or Evil? I tend to be on the good side, since I enjoy helping others and its almost amusing when I try and be evil. *Spoilers if you haven't played the first game start here* For example, I started up the game and came across the little girl looking for Rosie, her bear, granted, I could have easily torn the bear apart...but I gave it back to her. And I'm trying to be EVIL!! Though I did do some rather cruel things later in the game, for instance, killing Whisper for constantly calling me Farmboy. I had high hopes for friendship, but the name calling never ended...and I wanted all the prize money. 'cough, cough'. *End of Spoilers* Now, when it comes out, I'm more then likely going to be good and help out across Albion, (and only take the evil path for the achievements much later) but I want to know what my fellow peers paths will be like. Evil? Or Good? Oh, and will you be playing as a male or female hero?

Sword Collections

Yes, I know this doesn't really have much to do with video games, but for fun, I decided to put up some pics of my sword collection. Two are cosplay swords, and the other two are real. Though one is basically useless and my baby, my short katana, has seen its share of...combat back in my contract days.

Here's the real sword. Bad pic, but its hard for my camera to get the thing in view without being too far away. Its got a few chips along the blade from when it hit things, and I do all I can to keep it in good shape. Though I can say this, a sword can be much more effective then a knife. Though as the age old saying goes. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight...unless your in really tight corridors.:P

And here are the other swords, along with the real one on the very bottom. The top sword is from an anime called Bleach and I picked it up because of its outrageous length. The second from the top is a hand/arm sword hybrid. It attaches to your arm, you hold the handle and stab. Its rather sharp, but easy to get away from in combat. The third from the top is a reverse blade sword. And once again, the real one on the bottom.

Too Human

Thats right. Today I picked up Too Human to try it out. Much like Fall of Liberty, Too Human has seen its share of rocky reviews. Though, I have much more higher hopes for this game. The demo, for me at least, was a huge blast to play and since I have a love for mythology (the game has Norsh mythology in it), this is going to be a treat for me. Has anyone else played this game?

After Word: The Horror Is Finally Over

Well, for those who read my most recent blog, I mentioned I would be trying out the legendary Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. Why do I say legendary? Because, I can now see how the game did so poorly. So 705 achievement points later, and a major headache, I can say all those reviews were right on the mark. To sum it up quickly, they are so many problems with this game that it could fill up a phone book. The most major flaw? Pointing through your iron sights for your gun, having it stick like that, and unable to fire. So in the middle of firefights, I can't shoot, switch my weapon, or move quickly. At least the enemies are so stupid that they never killed me. I probably died twice in the game, and one of those deaths was falling to my death. Anyways, I'm done with that game and I'm trying to find something else to try. Anyone wish to suggest a game for me? Meanwhile, I'm going to try and recover my defeat in Enternal Sonata.

A huge risk I'm taking...Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

Yes, a risk. Tonight, I'm renting Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. I've found maybe two or three reviews that rated this game higher then...5. Yes, 5. I've actually had interest before its release and then got chased away by its poor and very horrible reviews. But tonight, I'm going to give this game a chance. I'll let you all know how it turns out. And if it goes poorly, I'm going to my room, locking myself in it and playing Baldur's Gate till morning.

Soul Calibur 4

Picked it up about an hour or so ago and I think its the best in the entire series. Its so seamless and smooth that I'm in a great state of shock. And the create a character is beyound what I expected. Beautiful is all I can say. Though I got 45 points of achievements by just turning it on which was a shock. I'm guessing its because I got the collectors edition and had that special code to unlock things. Maybe...

Failure

I'll admit that I'm very much into the achievement system in the 360, mostly to the point where I'll try to get the most out of each game. I'll enjoy it, unlock points, and so forth. Though some points I won't even touch, like the achivement for 10,002 kills or something like that in Battlefield Bad Company. Thats too much for me.

I hate it though, when you put so much work into a game, for achievements or not...and then fail at it. Yesterday, I put in my favorite Eternal Sonata, which I have yet to beat (even after writing a review) and worked my way to the Mysterious Union. I got an achievement for opening it up, and another one I wasn't even aiming for, leveling up my party. So inside, I spend maybe up to three hours, leveling up and finding *SPOILERS I SUPPOSE* these special soul shards to unlock and free this girl. I got up to the last floor of this dungeon to fight the boss for my first achievement. Well, I get into a fight with monsters I've never had problems beating. And then....poof. Just like that, all my work gone. By some fluke, or mistake on my part, I was crushed and tossed aside as if I was nothing in the grand sceme of things. And like that...all my hard work floated out the window. (Which is why I LOVE save points, why, why, why are they so rare in most RPGs. For me at least. And of course, their the perfect reminder about an upcoming boss. Nothing beats wandering around and theres a save point...boss fight!)

But anyways, it drives me nuts to sudden fail after so much work. I put an equal amount into Call of Duty 4, and only because I enjoy that game so much is why I put all my effort into its Veteran setting. Of course, I'm glad it doesn't have multiplayer ones because I know I'd get crushed doing so.

Another game I'm struggling on is another fave of mine, Lost Odyssey, a really wonderful game. I'm on disc 2 out of 4, and loving it. Why did I quit? Well, its not part of my rant here, but the leveling system in it could be way better (Which I'll probably whine about it another blog), but anyways...lol. So many RPGs coming out soon. The Last Remnant, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean The Last Hope, FF13 (Hurray! Now they should also give me FF Verus 13 lol), Infinite Undiscovery and so many more! ^_^

I'm thinking a game I've been waiting for a long time is coming out today, Soul Cailbur 4! I can't wait. I hope its out at least. It could be its shipping date. I fall for that time and time again. Maybe I won't fail so much at that game. It does look like good points.

Okay, Okay, I'm done ranting. I got off topic alot as well. Tell me your worst failures at video games. It doesn't have to be when aiming for achievements, just when it went wrong and it really drove you mad! Or maybe a failure at life? Everyone has those. So tell me! ^_^ So my blog doesn't become a ghost town lol.
