Curious, I wonder if MS knew about pulling the plug on this a long time ago, but waited until AFTER Christmas to say anything about it so as to not lose any console sales this Holiday season for people looking forward to the game.
@Dom_Hawk_basic: There are some poorly optimized games out there that do indeed need more than what a $1,200 gaming PC provides to completely max out, but there are also quite a few impressive games that max out perfectly fine at 4K and still hit 60fps on my PC, Battlefront, Mad Max, Ultimate Gears of War, and several others run perfectly fine completely maxed out at 4K, and others don't, like Metro Last Light Redux, GTA5, and a few others.
Then again, quite a few of the games I mentioned will run just fine with a few settings bumped down, and this is all done on a single GTX 1080 I might add, and given that, it's impressive given not even Scorpio will pull that off and it's pretty much a year away.
@bigrob007: I've seen comparison pics from a variety of different areas in the game, and other than a change in the color palette and some barely noticeable changes to textures, it looks too similar to matter, and I didn't notice any extreme cases where the lighting had been improved, I'm sure there ARE improvements, but it's minor enough not to matter.
I'm currently playing the game at 4K/60fps maxed out with mods, I'm doing just fine thanks :)
@LPDisturbedHU: I doubt marketing would've saved this game. Games like this just scream "niche", like Sunset Overdrive, The Last Guardian, and Bloodbore. Sure they do well on occasion, but Scalebound just seemed destined to fail in my opinion
@LPDisturbedHU: Who knows, my guess is they figured it would end up being a niche title and something that wouldn't sell that well, and decided to put forth the time, effort, and money into something worthwhile.
As many people as there were that seemed excited for this, I'm willing to bet there are WAY more that had no idea what Scalebound was.
@normanislost: Oh, so it was a terrible joke that's completely inaccurate? Regardless of what he was trying to say, he's still wrong, so it changes little.
Do you guys really think a 4K is THAT damn exensive. I know he was exaggerating, but what do you think it cost to build a 4K gaming PC? Seriously.
Wow, and this is one quite a few of the xbox fanatics raved about. Well that's a harsh blow, and talk about a smack in the face that they announce this shortly before it was most likely scheduled to release.
I missed my window to download the Skryim update for free off Steam.com :/
Sucks, but oh well, the "Remaster", update, er whatever you want to call it didn't seem to change or add all that much anyway. Nothing a handful of mods won't do better if anything.
@arlonborges: I wasn't a big fan of how they didn't let you keep the same cast of characters throughout the games. I know people have to die here and there, but when the game won't let you continue with the surviving characters and forces you to play with a new cast (minus the lead character Shepard), it feels like a slap in the face.
It made going from game to game less impactful having to play with different people
