@hallenbeck77:

RGB/Gaming headphones tend to be meh. You are paying a premium for something that lights up or has a cool design but that does not sound better (and frankly sounds worse) than proper headphones. One is way better of getting headphones from proper headphone companies (say a sennheiser hd650/6xx, audio technical m50, etc) for the same price or cheaper. Will sound significantly better than the crap logitech, razer, steelseries and etc make.

Yeah RGB chairs (and gaming chairs in general) are just "cool" looking chairs that are allflash and no substance. Imo gaming chairs are things that may look nice but one is just paying for the flash, with none of the ergonomics of a proper office chair. Honestly do not understand all the people who buy gaming chairs like secret lab even though they are completely uncomfortable (spend less and get something from ikea or staples, or more and get a steel case leap or herman miller).

With RGB mice and keyboard it kind of makes sense, from the perspective that the good gaming mice tend to come with rgb by default, and many mechanical keyboard also come with rgb by default. But headphones and chairs imo it's the opposite, the good ones don't come with rgb/"cool" designs, the bad ones do.

@hardwenzen: Someone is deflecting I see, too ashamed of your own **** setup? Being a fanboy must suck

Also only an idiot would buy an RGB Chair (or any gaming chair) over an office chair or an rgb headphones over proper headphones.

@hardwenzen: As others have said, you really do seem to have some issues.

Furthermore, lol commenting on post count, a) not sure how that's relevant and b) I am guessing you don't really have much of a life given that you have so many damn posts and seem to be so proud of that. Dont like saying this (usually) but in this case, quite appropriate, how about you get a life hardwen, maybe go outside, make some friends, etc

I will take all your suggestions and do what you said. But remember, my 1440p monitor>your tv.

Nah dude, if you really believe that, you must be delusional and grasping for straws. As usual, trying to make yourself feel better about yourself, seems to be the theme of your posts here. Also, your lack of understanding of pixel density vs viewing distance is showing, maybe educate yourself?

Wonder what your cheap non-HDR 1440P monitor looks like, here is my OLED monitor for comparison :p

@BassMan:

Hardwenzen is a broke jealous idiot/fanboy who does not understand the technology, so frankly would not listen to him on this (or anything really). Dude games on only one system and tries to find reasons to **** on everything else...kinda pathetic if you ask me.

On a separate but related note, man I am so tempted by the Alienware QD OLED. If I know it would be coming out so soon and at such a low price (for first gen tech) I would have waited for that rather than springing for my 48 C1 this black friday. As nice as the C1 is, I am sure the QD OLED screen will be a bit better, plus a 48 as a monitor is a little cumbersome sometimes while 34 inch is perfect as a monitor. Totally understand you though, I used to go between my OLED TV and my VA TV and my VA monitor, and just felt like I was missing out when watching on the the VA panels. And don't even get me started on VA black smear...Anyway, hope you enjoy the Alienware, I am sure its a nice upgrade from whatever monitor you may have now. Super curious to learn how it measures and etc as well (waiting on HDTV Test and Rtings for their scientific ish reviews)

@madsnakehhh:

Because dude does not have a life and constantly spends most of his time on here, clearly. Find it funny how someone who posts this much on a gaming forum only has a PS5...

@hardwenzen: I find it ironic how someone who also only has just one system is making fun of people who have just one system. Pure example of a pot calling the kettle black.

From a financial standpoint that does make a lot of sense. Gamepass is pretty great at delivering games to you, MS games day 1 and a bunch of other multiplats whenever. The PS5 is great too though for its exclusives so I do think it is good to have both consoles (and to be fair both combined are still cheaper than a smartphone...). In terms of buying used games I don't know how I feel about that, personallywould not do that for two reasons a) developer kind of gets screwed over so if it's a good game I would want to support the dev, b) never liked buying used stuff seems weird to me tbh

Until recently I will admit my PS5 was essentially gathering dust (at least compared to PC and XSX) but with the release of the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves and Horizon FW that has completely changed, PS5 is getting tons of use lately.

Just trying to figure out if someone else has this issie/bug (or if it's due to something on my end).

Whenever I go to loot items, when you click triangle to loot, the screen flickers a bit (as if the UI is being drawn in and out). Anyone else experience this issue (playing on PS5)?

On a related note, the game looks great (in performance mode). Tried resolution mode but honestly it's unplayable at such a low (30fps) framerate, not sure why one would use it if they had the performance mode option.

The only criticism I can think of so far is settings related. The HDR calibration menu makes little sense, hard to figure out what the best setting is given the TV I have. Don't know why devs don't just use the built in hdr calibration of a console, or at least have one that is similar in game (where you try to increase until you clip highlights)

@goldenelementxl:

Agreed, Soundbars (even ignoring atmos) can not match the quality of even a half decent home theater setup. And speakers can look good too there are many very nice looking ones (granted some are pricey, like the Kef r series). Furthermore given how expensive some of these Soundbars are, for price/performance can get a good HT setup for a similar price which will destroy a soundbar.

In terms of dolby atmos, upfiring is hit or miss (my HT has upfiring and it works but obviously ceiling mounted would be better). But on Soundbars, the positioning in most cases simply won't be correct. Ideally (if memory serves right) the upfiring speakers should be placed above ear level but no more than half the height of the ceiling. I am guessing in most soundbar setups, the upfiring speakers are placed below ear level, kind of negating the point of atmos.

Lastly, in terms of soundbar vs HT, so many of these Soundbars come with anemic subwoofer that can't even go down below 40hz or so, such an anemic subwoofer negates the benefits of even having a sub since it can't go low enough.

Will never understand why one would spend 2k or so on a soundbar instead of even a half decent HT setup. One could get JBL Studio 530s (2x$300), a JBL Studio 520c or Emotiva C1+ center ($200), 7.1 receiver from Costco (denon/yamaha/onkyo for $400-$500), cheap upfiring speakers (Pioneer, Sony etc, can be had for as low as $100 per pair) and a decent (infinity sub r12) or good (hsu/monolith/rhytmik/svs) subwoofer for between 200-800. All in all would cost between like 1500-2300 but would be way superior to any soundbar setup.

Also don't understand why one would buy a high quality TV (like a Samsung QN90, LG/Sony OLED, etc) but use the built in speakers (which honestly always sound awful)

I am sure production numbers/shipments for both the XSX and PS5 will improve next month. The Olympics led to some factory shutdown (which I assume affected consoles too) coupled with omicron related shutdowns (and therefore supply chain issues) earlier in the year/late 2021 probably has led to temporary decrease in output.

Just checked ebay and resale prices have certainly tanked for both consoles regardless (probably due to decrease in demand and the glut of consoles accumulated by scalpers leading up to Christmas) so this should also help out regular people too (since scalpers may not be trying to get these as much)
