What is a WEP key? Where do you find that?

I'm looking at getting a PS3 and just wondering how easy is it to connect.

Do you just find your network and type in your WEP Key and thats it.

Unfortunately my other forum about replacing to PS3 was shut down...?

I look forward to hearing from you all.

You guys pretty much confirmed what I thought.

I'm just not going to have the kind of time to get into heavy on-line play....wish I did but I know it won't happen.

However, I can find a couple hours here or there and just want a game I can pop in and have some fun with.

Plus, I want something that looks awesome so I can go for the "wife factor" and say...."look how awesome this looks". She basically thinks the PS3 is just another stupid game system so I want something that might impress.

Honestly, my favorite game ever was Resident Evil 4....and I'm eagerly waiing for RE 5. Kinda get the feeling that Uncharted might sorta play a little bit like RE4 in that you might feel like your playing a movie.

Planning to pick up a PS3 this weekend and looking for some thoughts on these 2 games.

First, let me say that on-line play is not very important to me. So I know from what I've read COD4 is a big on-line game....just not sure I'll be into that much on-line gaming initially.

Really, I'm looking for a good 1 player experience....and want something that will make me say "wow" a few times and something that will show off the PS3 graphics.

Sorta leaning toward Uncharted as it's received strong reviews and looks like one of the best games graphically I've seen.

Just wondering if I should be paying more attention to COD4....or some other game.

How is Rock Band for single player games? Because that is inevitably what I'll be playing most of the time. Does it compare with GH III for a single player?

Just not sure I want to shell out $170 for the game....then also buy another guitar...and then start paying $2 per downloaded track. I'll end up spending $250 before I know it for a game to play by myself.

Don't get me wrong....I had alot of fun playing it when I've had a chance to play with multiple players. Just haven't tried the single player portions of it.

Cheap is good...Personally, I hate dropping $50 for a game.

I also don't anticipate playing on-line a whole lot. Mainly, I just want to sit down and play a single player game that is going to captivate me a little.

I thought Resident Evil was cool because it had alot of free-roaming adventure play, gun variations, some varied boss battles and also had good replay value with some "deathmatch" style mini-games that could be unlocked and also with additional guns you could get the second time through. Also had some cool creatures/monsters.

Can't wait for RE 5 to come.....

Sounds like Resistance might be the best choice for now.

How is Condemned? Should I be considering that?

Why not try GTA 4 when thats out next week. Uncharted is good but lasts about a week so i wouldnt recomend that much, resistence is awesome and quite cheap now aswell. COD4 is great online but the 1player isnt as good as resistence 1 player.

If i were you id get GTA and resistence pre owned...Have fun!

Just ordered a PS3 to go along with the new 50 inch TV we just got. Mainly got it for Blue-Ray....haven't been a real heavy gamer in the past. Last system I bought was the Gamecube....and my favorite game for that system was Resident Evil 4....actually, I think that's about the best FPS game I've ever played.

So I'm looking to pick up a similar calibur game for the PS3. Just been reading some reviews and came up with the 3 titles above. One other one that might look interesting is condemned.....I kinda like the survival/horror genre like Resident Evil.

Not really concerned about on-line play. Just want something that has some good action, maybe a somewhat decent story, some unpredictable moments, will take awhile to get through and has some decent replay value. And I'm not a "role-playing" game fan.

I wish Resident Evil 5 were out.....that would clearly be my choice if it were. But it might be another year before that shows up.

So looking for some thoughts on any of the games I've mentioned....or if there is a glaring ommission, please feel free to mention something else.

Sorting leaning toward Resistance at this point....although Uncharted looks pretty interesting as well. COD4 does look like a solid game....but I guess I haven't been a huge fan of traditional Army games.

I also don't buy alot of games. Maybe 1 or two a year and that's about it. When I buy games, they've gotta be good.

So would appreciate some thoughts for what will probably be my first PS3 game. And I'm hoping it to be something that makes me say "Wow", just like Resident Evil did when I played it on the Gamecube.

Or if you don't think any of these games will do that, I could always just play Guitar Hero and Madden until RE 5 comes out.

Appreciate the thoughts.

Well.....I hesitate to say all the songs on Rock Band "suck"....I'm sure somebody likes them.

But my musical tastes are basically from the 80's (GNR, Leppard, Crue, Bon Jovi, etc).

I'm leaning toward just getting Guitar Hero. My wife only really liked the singing part of Rock Band....and I really only liked the Guitar part as I sucked on the drums.

Can't guitar hero also be played by two players at once.....something like with one on lead and one on bass?

My wife really only liked the singing part of Rock Band....and really only liked 1 song (Bon Jovi).

So guess I really just need to decide if Rock Band will offer enough for a single player to make it worth it when those rare occasions come around when we have multiple people in the house interested in playing.

I do get the sense that Guitar Hero might be more fun for one player. Is there enough "stuff" to do in Guitar Hero to keep one person interested in the game for awhile?

Just bought a 40GB PS3 that has 2 USB ports. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to buy Rock Band or buy Guitar Hero III.

I have played Rock Band and Guitar Hero before at a buddy's house. Rock Band was alot of fun when we had 4 or 5 people playing.....but I'm not sure how often I'll really have that many people available to play it. Actually, I'd probably be playing by myself about 80% of the time.

My favorite instrument to play in Rock Band is the guitar....although I did like the drums a bit also. One thing I really didn't like with Rock Band are the song choices. I really only like about 4 or 5 songs that come with the game....I know they are coming out with more all the time, but I don't really want to drop another $50 or $100 to buy 25 or 50 songs. I really like alot of the song choices in Guitar Hero III better.....

Is Rock Band worth getting if you really are going to be playing it alone most of the time? I know my wife and/or friends might play on some rare occasions, and I'm sure it would be alot of fun. Just not sure it will hold up well as a single player game. And considering the guitar is my favorite anyways, maybe I'm just better off with guitar hero.

Plus, would I have to buy a seperate USB adapter since the 40GB PS3 only has 2 USB plugs? Add in the adapter, extra guitar, extra song downloads, etc I would probably need with Rock Band, and it seems pretty expensive. Ends up being about twice the cost of guitar hero.

Not to mention, just saw my favorite artist (Def Leppard) has tracks coming out for Guitar Hero III this week. They are rumored to be coming to Rock Band at some point also but nothing concrete that I know of yet.

So just looking for some thoughts. Does Rock Band hold up as a single player game? I know it would be a blast if I had 3 or 4 people that would be able to play it alot.....but I've got my wife....who doesn't play video games....and my 7 year old daughter who really isn't interested. Basically it would only be fully utilized when friends and family came over, which is maybe once a month on average.

Thanks.

Thinking about getting my 7 year old daughter a Nintendo DS for Christmas and just wondering if anybody had any recommendations for games to check out that she might enjoy.

One game I know she will like is Mario Kart DS. We've played alot of Mario Kart Double Dash on the gamecube so I suspect Mario Kart DS would be a keeper.

She's also a huge Hannah Montana fan....so I'm also looking at getting one of the 2 Hannah Montana games. I know they probably are "classics", but she'll probably like them.

Any other games I should chech out? Was thinking about maybe Mario 64...but not sure.

Would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks.

Mario Kart DD and Mario Strikers have been alot of fun for me and my 6 year old. Both those games let you play cooperatively with helps keeps the frustration to a minimum.
