@bksonic123 Sigh.. stupidity abounds.. why would they go through the cost of changing their hardware/software so that the Kinect is no longer mandatory, just to reinstate it later? What would they gain, from a business perspective, by ticking off their customers for absolutely no reason? There's no logic behind this paranoia.

@Jinzo_111887 @thetoaster99 "The problem is they are claiming to attempt it again later on." -> where are you reading this??

He is saying that the digital vision hasn't changed. He isn't saying that they are going to reinstate DRM at some random point or for some reason make plugging the Kinect in mandatory again. Did MS have to learn the hard way what a lot of their customers wanted? Yes. Now that they have bothered changing everything to suit their customers, would they have any reason to reinstate the unpopular policies? NO.

As usual, the comment section is full of morons. If you actually read what he said, he's NOT saying that they are going to reinstate the DRM at some point. Disc-based games are going to stay available for resale, and they aren't going to sporadically start making you sign in every day again -> doing this would make zero business sense. What he's saying is that their policy changes won't derail their vision for improving the Xbox digital service. Given the success of steam on PC, this is a smart business move and is not some conniving, conspiracy-theory nonsense.

The title of this is incredibly misleading. The video should actually be called: "can GTAV train you to shoot a gun more accurately?". Being capable of going on a killing spree is far more dependent on whether or not a game can remove your grip on reality, or your value on human life. This video doesn't address either of these. I can only speak from personal experience, but I can guarantee that while video games have desensitized me to virtual violence, this doesn't translate to the real world -> I'm still disgusted when I see a nasty sports injury on TV, for example.

@arcangelic nah.. supreme commander had combat on an impressive scale, but the build times were painfully long and the warfare itself wasn't very interesting.. it was cool for a while but got tedious fast.. I'd say Men of War: Assualt Squad is the best WW2 RTS and DOW: Dark Crusade is my fav overall RTS for PC

I don't even like the direction this review went because it judges the game primarily on what new features it has vs how well it plays. I couldn't care less about the 'be a pro' mode or the online multiplayer. The biggest thing that matters is whether or not they actually bothered to fix any of the glaring, infuriating screw-ups from their previous titles. I'm tired of the defence not knowing how to pass out of your own zone. I'm tired of my defencemen running the puck into your own net if you win a faceoff in your zone. I'm tired of my hits not registering when I line a guy up perfectly, but then can get sent flying by a smaller player at a standstill (it seemed like the devs at EA noticed that it wasn't realistic for there to be 100 big hits in every game, but instead of making the AI smarter about avoiding dangerous positioning, they just made it so that your hits didn't count 3/4 of the time). Most of all, I'm tired of the difficulty simply being a matter of 'the higher the difficulty, the more the other team's AI cheats, and the more your team's AI sucks' -> the harder the difficulty should simply mean that ALL the AI plays smarter, and therefore your mistakes are more costly. The 2k games were all coded WAY better for AI, they just were too ugly and clunky to get enough sales -> on this note, I totally agree with the reviewer; EA needs some sports game competition BADLY.

@Dixie987 If you took every point that you just said and expressed them in a calm manner, I would completely agree.

Give me a break, comment section.. people aren't "idiots" for buying COD games if they have fun with them. It's fine for you guys to point out time and time again that the games don't change much from one edition to the next, but if tons of people enjoyed the previous ones, they won't want the formula to radically change. Are the DLC packs overpriced? Yes. But again, if you're someone who is going to get tens if not hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of them, it's still worth your money. Gaming elitists are the worst. If you don't like the series, why are you on here just to badmouth it? If you present the pros and cons as you see them, and then just let people make up their own minds, that's actually useful. Coming on here like you know better than everyone else on what makes a 'good game' is as pointless as it is childish.

@jimbo6923 @malokevi @A_Rabid_Dog @valknight The thing is, MS, like every other company in entertainment, wants to make money. In order to do that, they need to provide a product that's appreciated by their consumers. What would they gain from reinstating policies that they know are hated by a large percentage of their consumer base?

@ydnarrewop not really.. For me it seems like MS has to make some major marketing changes. Their communication has been just pitiful for the past 4 months which has cost them a lot of business. If they didn't have details nailed down, they should have figured it out before they gave vague answers and spread misinformation. Now, they are finally getting hands-on and can actually start to give accurate predictions of what their hardware can/can't do because it's actually testable now. They are back-peddling on their policies that blew up in their face. However, tweaking hardware isn't back-peddling, it's improving. So no, I don't see this as unsettling.
