I don't doubt that Origin could eventually turn into something good. However, I don't like the trend that it is likely going to start. Pretty soon, every publisher is going to want their own service. I really don't want to have to login to 50 different side programs just to make sure that my games are updated.

@gq_cjc not true.. PS has an edge with performance hardware, but they stuck with their crap-tastic controller design. If you prefer a performance edge over comfortability, that's your choice. You aren't more intelligent simply because you prefer some features over others. Calling people retards for having different tastes just means that you're trying to pick a fight with opposing fanboys.

@digishah this will be awesome when it happens, but I don't think integrating the omnidirectional treadmill with games will happen anytime soon simply for cost reasons. There are probably only a few thousand people in the world who would drop the thousands of dollars required to get the treadmill. Therefore, it wouldn't generate enough profit to pay for people to program gaming support for it, or for advertising, etc. Also, for first-person combat, they really need to build a good pair of VR gloves and a good VR gun instead of just the rift.

@jts1891 @GSGuy321 @AluminumAndroid at the same settings as a current-gen console? yes. If you want to run it on high settings, no.

@Zoza24 haha.. do you really think that a guy is the authority on something just because he went to school and wrote a book? MS has people on their staff who also went to business school. There are thousands of book-writing people out there with differing opinions. This guy's opinion is just one drop in the bucket.

this isn't even a contest.. staggered sticks are far more comfortable than the horrendous in-line, thumb-bumping, hand-cramping nonsense that IS the dualshock.

@Johny_47 @dhsk8sb no, you're crazy.. the PS controllers are the worst ever made. the parallel sticks being in the middle of the controller are an ergonomic nightmare.. there is nothing ergonomically pleasing about straining both thumbs to the middle of the controller for hours on end. the staggered sticks allow you to hold the controller steady with the left hand while keeping your left thumb in a natural and comfortable position. The right thumb is then not strained to reach either the aim stick or the face buttons because you aren't holding the weight of the controller with that hand. Staggered stick controllers are FAR more comfortable in every way.

@SSJ4Goku2 @huerito323 Such melodrama all the time on these forums... They didn't go back on their word. Going back on their word would be if they came out and said that they never really had DRM plans after-all and that it was just a big misunderstanding. Stating that they are going to change their policies due to consumer backlash is a logical thing to do. Neither Sony nor MS have the welfare of their consumers as their main priority. However, they both know that consumers need to be happy at least to some extent in order to support their stakeholders' interests. MS tried to further their stakeholders' interests and hoped that it wouldn't turn away many of their consumers. When that plan failed, they did the logical thing and changed their policies. Factoring in trust as if MS and Sony are your little friends on the playground is just plain silly. Both sides will continue to try new things and will continue to gauge their decisions based off of the money they will make/lose as a result of said changes. If they work, the other companies will follow. If they don't, the other company will capitalize on it by smugly telling the world that they are the company that has consumer interests at heart. It's just how the entertainment business operates.

@airman20012001 That's not how successful businesses operate. What they did was make policies that they hoped would both benefit them, and not be an issue to the bulk of their consumers. When they initially got backlash for these policies, they were probably still trying to gauge how many consumers they were going to lose due to this backlash and how much of it was just hot air in the media. Once they opened up the pre-ordering options and got initially stomped by PS4, they then realized that their policies had turned away far more of their consumer-base than they had anticipated. Therefore, they did the logical thing and changed their policies. This type of procedure is done by all companies. The smart ones adjust to meet their consumers' demands. Since MS did this, it doesn't make sense to boycott them just because they tried some changes that blew up in their face.
