@frank_castle: Or someone who doesn;t rely on society's measurement of success to determine the quality of their life. Some people work to live. Others live to work. I sure hope there's more to your life than just a job and a long list of payment plans.
I get it if you have a family to take car of and I commend you for doing that. But not everyone has kids/spouses, nor do they need/want them. Those people may have more freedom than you and that's cool. You have a different experience certain relationships that they may never know. Neither of these ways are the right/wrong way. They both have their benefits and sacrifices. Stop trying to push your way of life on everyone else.
@Chernnunos: I'm not trying to attack him personally. I'm calling him out for being judgemental and thinking there's only one proper way of life...school...job...wife...kids...die.....If that's what works for you great. But it's not for everyone. and there are alternatives that don't make you immature or childish. Just different.
This guy is a 24-year-old young adult going on an adventure. No regrets. Good on him. I hope he has a blast.
For the record: I've been responsible for my self since 15. I'm 35 now. I've worked very hard along the way but I take a vacation/travel every chance I get....sometimes up to 6 months because life to me is NOT about a job. It's about the experience. And I love it.
I have a great idea. Let's all take a moment to judge this guy for having his own life and doing whatever the **** he wants with it..... Why aren't you sitting on the toilet playing Pokémon at your job like you're supposed to? you imbecile.
