Who knew we would be graced with GOTY so early on in the year?
I've been seeing Elden Ring piling in the 10/10 reviews virtually everywhere. I knew it would be right up there but I didn't expect it to be pulling in perfect scores from almost every major gaming site. This right here is amazing news for From fans.
Just goes to show you that when you put time and care into your craft like From does you get rewarded for all your efforts.
Can't wait to sequester myself for the better portion of a month while I immerse myself in From's latest masterpiece.
That Stevivor score seems completely out of place (never even heard of them.) as does the Telegraph but the overall consensus so far in the gaming community for Horizon seems to be one of universal praise.
While I don't think the scores are as high as the first installment it seems to be within the same ball park. From many out there it seems that is suffers (or benefits depending on your view.) from the same issues that most direct sequels undergo; namely, just adding more stuff and making the overall world bigger.
While bigger isn't necessarily better (-Keep telling yourself that, Ninja-) I have a feeling those that loved every minute of the first will be more than satisfied with all the extras thrown about.
I'm purposely trying to avoid any mention of the story so as not to ruin anything but I hope it delves deeper into the backstory we got glimpses of in the first.
Sounds like Guerilla Games crafted a worthy sequel to what has been one of the standout IPs of the last decade and while it perhaps may not have the same overall impact the first did it sure as heck looks like there is a lot of fun to be had.
