Sounds like these films would be a fun family outing. Lots of stuff for the kids to learn.

Proper gun control.

Interactions/respect for women and people of various backgrounds.

An introduction into the traits needed for good driving practices.

Extensive use of new words and vocabulary/grammar.

Respect for law enforcement .

Financial/money interactions.

All stuff to help them become productive members of society. Can't wait for this to happen.

Been waiting to play this game but I’m one of those gamers that needs a physical copy or at the very least needs the entire series/game out before I start playing.

Personally speaking I can’t stand beating an episode and having to wait an unspecified amount of time for the next installment to drop (Makes sense Ninja, you have the attention span of a goat.).

The other thing I am mixed about is this “release a physical copy of the game with the first episode but the rest will be downloadable.”

I held off on getting the Batman telltale game due to this practice but when there was no mention of a physical disc with all episodes on it (from the get go.) I took the plunge and got it.

I wonder if this will be how telltale release all their games from now on. I’m not saying this idea is somehow “bad” but at the same time I wouldn’t herald it as being a “great” idea either.

I’m optimistic that it will achieve this goal although it is a lofty one considering the time frame.

If there was ever a game in recent memory that deserved strong sales after the amount of skepticism and doubt that surrounded its release it is this one.

Capcom needs to be commended for actually doing something right for a change as most of their franchises as of late have lost that "edge" that made them such prominent titles in the past.

There is probably no better way to get this point across than to support what they set out to do on this rendition and frankly I for one don’t see any out there who are craving a solid survival-horror title being disappointed on this outing.

Cooooool... (that was bad Ninja, even for you.)

Wonder if we'll see her "master" join the roster in the near future.

I have to commend Machinegames for their effort into putting an actual narrative with thought into Wolfenstein unlike so many of their contemporaries.

I’m not insinuating that Wolfenstein: The New Order had a narrative on par with some of the more talked about games in the industry that exemplify this trait but when one considers the genre it is lumped in it’s hard to argue that many others would be vying for that title.

It seems like developers in FPS games (not all but an overwhelming majority.) take a distant “backseat” approach to their refinement of any type of story whether it be character, plot, or story arch development.

I’m sure we’ve all experienced this to some effect. That feeling that the story or world in a game we are playing is just an afterthought or an excuse rather to go around and shoot things. And hey, that’s fine. That’s why we play games, right? To play them.

Still, when developers put the time into their craft and either push the boundaries of their genre or do things that others gloss over as being “unimportant” it personally makes me as a gamer stand up and take notice.

-"I personally guarantee that it will end the streak and be the western world's first good video game adaptation."-

That's a VERY big statement to make.

I hope for his sake it turns out for the best. He is drawing a lot of attention to himself by making such an outlandish claim (Great marketing too.).

I will give him the benefit of the doubt though and wait and see.

This is amazing news!

Finally. I was worried that the trend would continue so to say that this news is welcoming is quite the understatement.

One day I will have to venture down and see and take in all the sights for myself. Hopefully they don't reverse this decision by then, lol.

UPDATE: (They now have confirmation about your interest Ninja and are reversing the decision. Wait'a ruin it for everyone!)

How to make a hard game harder.

I can see how the news would be off putting to some but I have a feeling that the majority of individuals who are interested in this game (y'know, the souls games/masochistic type like me.) will only revel in this.

I wonder if there will be a part in the game where Simon needs to find a red crystal and kneel at a cliff for a few uninterrupted moments before a giant tornado comes and whisks him away (Ninja... that's castlevania 2, you idiot.).

Very informative review Miguel. One of the more in depth one's out there. Great to hear that Team Ninja is back to what made them a standout developer to begin with.

My only real experience as it relates to the game was the “last chance” demo they recently released.

While I wouldn’t personally go as far as to say that it blew any of FROM’s efforts completely out of the water I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with what I experienced.

I think for some the similarities and comparisons to the “souls” games will be inevitable and totally founded/justifiable but even still I feel that Nioh manages to somehow maintain its own identity. It’s not just another “souls” clone.

Personally speaking I felt the flow of the combat in the “souls” games was a little more fluid and easily accessible from the get go but that could also be just a personal preference based on nothing more than subjectivity on my part.

I’m still undecided on the whole “mission” based system as opposed to the open world of the souls games but at the same time Demon’s souls used a similar, for lack of a better term, approach with its setup. Perhaps this skepticism is also a by-product of what I and we as gamers have come to expect thanks to the success of the souls series with the approach they took to their “go anywhere anytime” environments. Maybe we just expect it in these “types” of games now.

I still enjoyed my time with the demo and just scrolling through all of the inventory slots, abilities, upgrades, and miscellaneous items left me with the impression that there will be a lot of depth when it comes to leveling up and skill sets.

Regardless, there is one thing I’m sure that people of the “souls” series won’t mind. The unforgiving difficulty. Its true Team Ninja has taken many cues from the “souls” franchise but you know what they say, right?

Imitation is the best form of flattery.
