This list of titles is almost validating why Ubisoft games over the last 10 years haven't really been "doing it" for me.
I'm not ragging on these franchises or anything but it seems like in terms of new innovation Ubisoft isn't as focused and would rather fall back on the safe bets(Ex: AC, Rainbow six, etc...).
That being said, I am interested to see if we will get news of the AC remake if it is actually happening and perhaps some info on the direction they want to go with hit. Not sure if that will do anything to get me super excited but I am curious to see how they tackle remaking the game that put the franchise on the map.
Sounds like this remake is pulling in high reviews but considering the original is considered (and rated.) as one of the best games in the past 10 years some of these reviews might be lower than some were expecting.
In fact, I couldn't fault someone for expecting this installment to receive 10/10's everywhere.
I'm a little surprised I haven't heard anything positive from gamers considering it is releasing in a few days and despite not following the gaming world as closely over the last month (Ninja issues.) I thought I would have heard more in the way of excitement about this release.
I know there was an overwhelming concern in the gaming community over this remake even happening in the first place (Hey, I was asking "Why?" just like everyone else.) but I thought that as the release date moved closer sentiment might change. Well, looks like I was wrong (-As per usual, Ninja.-).
While many might feel this is a cash grab, and rightfully so, I still think for those out there that have never experienced any installment of the original this remake seems like a solid lock. That being said, for those who have already experienced the original in some capacity perhaps going out and purchasing this latest entry day 1 isn't as pertinent as they may think.
I haven't been following gaming news as vigorously over the last month or so but the fact that I wasn't even aware this game is almost out is pretty telling how the reaction and excitement from the gaming community towards this game is.
In fact, I have heard almost nothing positive from the community since it was first announced despite hoping sentiment would change over the following months.
I still believe (assuming Naughty Dog didn't go overboard and change fundamental things to the characters.) that for those that haven't yet played the original something like this would be a no brainer but as for fans who have already managed to play the first or any of the remasters I'm not sure there is enough here to warrant a day 1 purchase.
Thanks for your insights. They were extremely informative and are actually giving me something to consider now. I'm sure this post will help others who are also on the fence about Gamefly or at the very least inform them of a service that in todays digital world isn't as prominent or on the forefront of gamers minds as it once was.
Despite some of the negatives (sorry to hear about your garbage neighbors.) it sounds like Gamefly is one of the better alternatives to gaming out there; especially if you are gaming on a more regular basis and want newer titles with the option to just check out those respective titles or to purchase them.
I remember I was seriously thinking about getting a membership a while back but I heard some not so good things from reviews about the service that put me off.
In your opinion how was/is Gamefly?
Do you think the emergence of services like PS plus Extra/premium or Gamepass have severely hurt Gamefly?
