wierd, i guess it's ok then, if it doesnt do ay damage, it just takes longer to start, i wonder what purpose that serves.

ya, perhaps it will be more beneficial to some other type of prgram, video encoding, or 3d rendering, i have no idea, but it seems to show minimal improvements in most games as of now, especially if the game isnt entirely multithreaded.

just to throw this in their, most overclockers dont buy prebuilts, something like 99% of prebuilts have a locked bios. it isnt incorrect to assume that dell would do that to the xps series as well, but if it isnt locked, then lucky you, you can get more out of your sytem

everyone assumes that every new tech advancement will help the gaming industry, this just happens to be one of the few new processors that doesnt help the gaming community, it only seems to benefit other programs, i would attribute the poor performance increase to the extremely low FSB, they only run at 133mhz, my E8400 was running at 465mhz, i believe, and it was good competition for te i7's in most games, other than quad core optimized games

that is a really good cooler, i have one right now, but i would also get

This

yes, you can put two fans on it, one on each side, but if you get this one fan to replace the one it comes with, all i can say is wow, it really moves the air, and cools so well, but it is loud, dont forget to get the bracket for it, you'll need it to mount the thing, it is no easy task, but with This it is so much easier

its hard to say how much the prices will drop, i've been asking the same question, all i get is, well we know they'll drop, so i just bought the cpu i was waiting for, i guess if its what you want, and its a good deal for the time, you might as well just get it, as long as your happy with it.

idk, thats kinda weird, like the fans spin, then they stop, and start again? maybe it's a short in the power button on your case

Just got done building my new one

AMD Phenom X4 black edition Quad core AM+ processor 2.5GHz 3600MHz FSB 1MB X 4 Cache

Cool Master SLI certified 850W power supply

4GB(should have gotten more but was on a budget) Kingston KVR667D2N5K2/2G 2 DDR 667 MHz memory 4 x 1024MB

2x- 500GB hardrives

2x- EVGA geeforce 9800GTX+ (512MB DDR3 @738 MHz (SLI)

(windows vista home premium 64-bit)

5abr07h

not bad, but I'm gonna have to cut your score, you bought DDR2 667mhz ram???? sorry bud 6.5/10

with 800mhz DDR2 or better id say 8/10, very solid, those two cards in sli will be devastating though

12905 3dMark Vantage Score.

WOOT.

Im in about the top 30 Single Card Rigs on EVGA.

I feel special.

RFOMownage

you should feel special:)

that's a very good score for one card, but seriously, overclock that Q6700, you'd see a huge performance increase, and it shouldn't be too hard, I've seen Q6600 at 4Ghz and above
