the psu is actually really nice i just forgot the brand and didnt feel like getting up to check, its a xion supernova, wasnt cheap either

so i checked and compared the specs, the 9800 has a 760mhz core clock vs the 650 of mine and the otherss speeds are about 200-250mhz faster,

ok so i built an awsome computer about four months ago and got the best stuff i could, and now i want better stuff.

so what i have is

xfx 680i lt sli

e8400 3.00ghz

ocz reaper ram ddr2 800, 4 (2x2gig)

250 western digital hdd 7200rpm

antec 900 series gaming case

eVGA 8800gts 512mb

vista home premium 64bit

dvd/cd burner

600w psu

ok so i want to buy another video card, but now that i look its only like 30 bucks more to buy a new 9800gtx over the same 8800gts i bought, so i know that you can only expect at best an 80 percent increase in performance w/ two cards in sli, so the question is, which is better: sell the 8800gts i have and put the money toward a 9800gtx, or buy a second 8800gts?

what do guys think, which will perform better? which should i buy?

Gateway P-6831FX

slickchris7777

And if you want a warranty worth a damn, it still puts you over $2k with sales tax, unless you're lucky enough to live in a state that does not charge such a tax. Gateway's website also does not even acknowledge the P6831's existence. And you're going to be around $2000 anyway after upgrading the warranty and paying for shipping (and applicable tax). Last time I had checked for that 6831FX @ Best Buy, they had it at $1249 for all of one week. And the week right after, they raised the price to $1699 + $399 for a two-year service plan.

You don't need an extended warranty, and you don't have to pay shipping if you just walk into the store...

its still a gateway, not that they are terrible, but they arent exactly creme of the crop
