Okay so today I finally received my "perfect" Vita after SIX (!) exchanges. Either I got extremely unlucky or the quality control at Sony is somewhat lackluster. I love the Vita and I think it's one, if not THE best handheld ever made, but this really bothered me...
I think last month I posted here already that I got the "perfect" vita after an exchange but after only a few hours I found five dead subpixels and once seen you will NEVER make it unseen.
Anyway, here are the details to my Vita marathon..
- Vita had barely any blotches but a dead pixel in the middle.
- Vita had less blotches, better blacks but 5 dead subpixels in the middle on red and green, frequent crashes and a squeeky left trigger.
- Vita had a horrible screen, it had a 2cm thick grey line on the left that could be seen even in a fully lit room, squeeky left trigger.
- Vita had a nearly perfect display almost no blotches very good blacks but ALL buttons where squeeking like hell.
- Vita had a huge V shaped blotch that could be seen on every dark colour and of course a squeeky left trigger.
- Vita pretty good overall no squeeky trigger, but 2 dead pixels in the middle.
- Vita very nice screen with minor blotches, very good blacks only slightly squeeky left trigger. This one is a keeper!
I am picky with my gadgets I admit. but I'm telling you all of the Vitas I had before the one I have now were not acceptable. It's kinda sad to see this HUGE quality differences in the same product. I hope they will be able to fix all those issues for the next revision.
How about you guys, how many times did you exchange and how is the quality of your Vita?
