How do YOU plan on getting Halo 3 when it comes out? When Halo 2 came out I just walked into the local gamestop the same day it came out and picked up a copy right off the wall. I wonder if I'll be as successful this time..
If you want the definitive treatment, just get the Elite package. It has the best graphics (HDMI guaranteed) and the biggest HD. I got mine a few months ago after only having a Wii, and I am THOROUGHLY enjoying my double package. To be honest, you may as well just sell your PS3 and put it towards your elite. You may get a decent deal for it.
What's with all this Perfect Dark Zero hate? I recently beat the game (I got it used, I didn't have it at launch) and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I mean it wasn't a perfect game (no pun intended,) but it had good graphics, nice soundtrack, decent story, and unique multiplayer modes. I think if you did a survey of people who played it who DIDN'T play the original N64 version versus those that did I think you'll find a major difference in opinion. I think there was too much hype surrounding this game and something that wasn't equivalent to the fun of GOW just dissapointed everyone. As a new player though, I found it quite enjoyable. Maybe not as great as GS rated it, but not bad enough to be considered one of the WORST games they made for it.
Clearly I missed the hype boat on this release. I downloaded the demo and it seemed interesting, but nothing as epic and mind-blowing as some of these reviews are saying. I may fire it up again and see if there are some other things I like about it, and it'll definately be on my "to rent" list.
Is the main reason that the 360 fans don't work because they draw off the 360's power source? In theory, would an attached fan with its own power source be a good solution?
After reading about all these hardware failures and the 3 rings, I'm a little worried about my brand new Elite. I dropped alot of money down for it, and even though the warranty is 3 years I'd still prefer to just keep my original (Hell I still have my original PS2, and it was one of the original 500,000 made.) The thing does get hot when I use it, but I do always unplug it when its not being used or downloading stuff in the background. Is that enough, or should I hook up a fan (Not one of those that hooks right up to the 360, but just a standard fan blowing on it) as well?
The graphics on Halo 3 are good. The problem is that Halo 1 + 2 had such good graphics to begin with that we're expecting this MAJOR upgrade when really it isn't necessary. Besides, I'd rather the game look good and keep a steady frame rate with 16+ guys on the screen as opposed to looking GREAT and having frame rate issues.
Depends on the type of video it is. If its WMV, then you should be ok. If its something like an XviD video, then you're not going to be able to view them from that memory stick.
