I have seen a few mobo's that Dual channel is 1 and 2, then 3 and 4. There arent many, but there are some. Dual channel should be automatically detected when you have the sticks in Dual channel slots. Obviously if you have 4 sticks of the same size you wont have to worry about it.

yeah I also thought about a bad PCI-e slot on the mobo. My PSU is a antec earthwatts 500W, I RMA'd it for the same thing. I know its not the best by far, but I was on a tight budget for this build. My CPU temps were a steady 28-30c idle, and never over 45c at full load. Should add that I built this rig in August, and ive put new AS5 on once since original installation about two months ago. I also forgot to mention my mobo, its an asus M2n SLI deluxe 570. Not the wireless edition.

First off system specs, AMD 6000+, 4GB DDR2 800, EVGA 7950GT KO, 320GB perp. rec. HD, 500W PSU, XFI audigy. XP.

The other day I was closing a program(Xfire), and all of a sudden the screen went black. All fans were still running, I could still hear the HD spinning, however the monitor light was blinking(no signal lost message though). Also all of my peripherals went dead. Now when I turn it on, I can hear everything going, HD, fans are spinning, case lights are on. However no peripherals are working, and the monitor still blinks. Ive RMA'd the PSU, and the GPU already, didnt work. Also tried resetting the CMOS battery and jumpers.

I think the CPU is the cause, anybody else have any idea's? or ever seen this? I removed and reseatted the CPU with new AS5, and I have a HUGE cooler on my CPU. The thermal paste did look a little darkened, but nothing that ive never seen before.

Lower tunings, but more tension on the neck. They make hybrid strings now in which the 6th, 5th,4th strings will be as if you have 10-46's and the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st will be 9-42's. I have a Paul Reed Smith in which I use these hybrid strings on. I've used all the way up to 12's before for B# tunings. Overall if you arent going to go any lower than Drop C, I would say the hybrids would be good. Its the best of both worlds.
