winter is on its way.

i am already missing summer because now it is dark earlier (about six instead of nine) and something else, fires.

i am sitting here right now breathing in disgusting smoke from house fires. add to that, it is so cold now it is as if a button was pushed. without the fires, the air would be crisp. but the whole experience of an upcoming, then a full blown winter is not something i am looking forward to.

when i was in my mid to late teens i remember dreading this time of year. there were some cruel, dangerous people who used to live in my soon to be old neighbourhood. winter time only supplemented to the increased tension of walking around that area at night. the aura was horrible, it was and still is sad thinking about it.

what made life worse was what was going on in the world around us. the war on terrorism then other events. there was so much death and destruction. bombs were being dropped over baghdad, anti-aircraft fire feebly shooting upwards to take down what i imagine were united states airforce stealth bombers. princess anne died. the space shutle colombia dis-integrated on re-entry to earth. it had been only two, three years after 9/11. the united states amd the rest of the world was going through, hands down, the worst presidency in presidential history.

we were as a family receiving all of this traumatising news in our own home. it got so bad the digital televison was taken away, disconnected.

with this winter coming on, those memories of winter 2002 and winter 2003 come flooding back. what a blight on history and my life wasted.

for those in this part of the world, enjoy the rest of the, i guess, summer like days while you can! if you dislike winter like me right now, i feel your pain!

the second in the colin mcrae, dirt games is out now. the game is called dirt 2. i have been playing the demo and am getting hooked on playing the driving simulation.

if you buy oxm (official x-box magazine) then you will find the demo on one of the previous issues discs.

the game is so real. i mean, the cars, which one would expect to be, are so polished it is superb. it is extremely satisfying bursting through the sealed and un-sealed tracks. i feel my adrenaline rush when i tear around dirt corners. the huge puddles of water you drive through are visually... authentic? it is as if the water is so real.

however, the next game after i have been through my collection and attempting to finish each game off achievement wise will be command and conquer red alert 3. that game has been sitting in a cardboard box for over ayear now, untouched. i will break it out and immerse myself in the game soon.

like command and conquer 3, it should be great.

i had a dream last night of this chick i met on the bus over the easter holiday.

she kissed me in my dream but that was strange because i don't really know her?

i could tell it was her by face so if you are reading this because like the whole neighbourhood does then i will never forget that.

given i thought i needed to improve my diet, and fast, i bought some mushrooms and this continental butter chicken sauce.

i did everything right except too little mushrooms then too much sauce. but i sit here and ask myself whether the sauce was only too spicy? could it have mattered if the mushrooms were swimming in the sauce?

i have had many butter chicken sauce meals before but this one was more than mild! :P

i have been to k-mart and bought these cherry chocolate easter eggs. they were half price as the chain department store at this time is clearing all their easter stock. they were $1.50NZ, down from about $4NZ. made in the united kingdom.

it has been late to celebrate this time of year. i think it is incorrect for the media to say that easter is not remembered for jesus because every year it actually is. churches in parts of the world have masses... some churches have huge followings.

if you are athiest, satanist or any other religion that is not christian then you wouldn't really know. it is a mis-conception. in new zealand, studies have reported that there are more athiests in this country than christian but i find that hard to believe myself because it seems to me everyone i come to contact with, is christian!

these chocolates actually do look like real eggs except they are like sparrow eggs, smaller, red and with gold speckles on them. they are tasty.

another easter gone by. daylight saving ended the other night too. now it is colder and it gets dark earlier. this past summer will be remembered as the one i spent most of it transient and i still am. i did not get laid once. i would like to have a small gripe with the city council and their stupid laws in closing. a bus being too heavy on land? come on. if it was for safety reasons then i would have rather died in that bus than have it taken away from me.

and if i can continue? the city council here need some lessons in common sense. according to them the city is in serious debt but they are spending more money by undertaking expensive (and perhaps unnecessary?) city projects, nothing like this city has ever been through before, as if they are in the green.

it is actually the day thousands of years ago that jesus did die. every year this day rolls around people who are more atheist or satanist forget that this is the day that he was tortured then left for dead on the cross. somehow the easter bunny made a name for himself like the toothfairy or santa clause.

if it makes anybody feel any better, i will not be celebrating easter with loads upon loads of chocolate until i go to the doctor one day to find out i have diabetes. i might have another beer tonight. tonight i am sure, is going to go off.

today has not been good for me personally, however. i was almost hit by a car, almost all the businesses are closed but i did get three pictures of a steam engine that is visiting the city over this easter period.

tonight i found out that we are getting our first jb-hi fi in our province, wow.

when i was first told i was quite underwhelmed and now that i think about it, that company must be going to invest heaps of money to lease space there as they are taking out three diners including subway at that mall? when they set up shop there the war will be on as there are three stores just like jb-hi fi about a minute away at another mall and eb games inside the mall in question.

i have told you this before and that is that i visited a jb-hi fi up north, it blowed. but my opinion might be different once i visit the new store here in six months.

i have been thinking about the current president of the united states, barack hussein obama.

the question i want to ask is not really how this man became president in a disrespectful way but just who he is, where he has come from. i think it is really quite extraordinary when you give president barack obama deep thought.

everybody knows that barack obama is a democrat. howard dean, president of the democrat party, had something to do with obamas nomination to run for the presidency before the general election in the united states, in 2008.

there is a theory that i have which is barack obama could have been installed by the c.i.a.. he is there in the oval office to ease tensions between what is sometimes called "the muslim world" and "the western world". he has a powerful name, being muslim. and could it be that some people see him as the man who will bring change in the united states by his star power?
