We’ve highlighted a few interesting tidbits below:

Which console is the most powerful? On paper, Microsoft's Xbox One X console is the most powerful system with its 6 teraflops of performance. This is over 4.5x of that of the original Xbox One and 1.4x the PS4 Pro, its closest console competitor.

No Caption Provided

Which console offers the most storage space? The console that currently offers the most storage space out of the box is the 2TB version of the Xbox One S. It’s worth mentioning that you can swap out the storage drives on the PlayStation 4 consoles, which is something Xbox One systems currently can’t do.

Which console is the smallest? Being a handheld console, the Nintendo Switch is the smallest system here measuring 4x6.8x2.1 inches.

Which console is the heaviest? While the Xbox One X is the smallest Xbox console yet, it's also the heaviest out the bunch, weighing in at 8.4 pounds.

Thinking the Switch is a competitor to X1/PS4 is infuriating. That's like comparing the Chevy Corvette to a Chevy Malibu. Both cars do well what they set out to do.

If the Switch were to be as powerful as X1/PS4, it couldn't be mobile. A non-mobile Nintendo product would be lost in a sea of X1s, PS4s, and PCs.

I'm so sick and tired of people failing to grasp that absurdly simple concept.

@93ChevyNut: ??? yes spec wise but that's not the only comparisons that could be made..how about this switch's portability aspects to PS4/xbone are like comparing a brand new Bugatti that gets 1mile per gallon to a new impala. The Bugatti u will leave at home to show off to your friends but never actually take it out where as that Impala yea you'll def wanna ride around everywhere with that ESP if the license plate says ownedU..comparison makes more sense now

@93ChevyNut: I liked your comment and agree with it but this is Nintendo's fault. They make it seem like the Switch is a home console you can take on the go. Instead they should have said it is a tablet/mobile console you can also play on your TV.

@romeothebeast: after the Wii U situation do u really think it would b a smart idea to tell us gamers and press that they are making a tablet?! Calling it a handheld is suicide esp since the 3DS is doing so well still..come on now use your head

@sandstormmcd: Your comment was fine until the very end... you talk like this to people in real life? I was just thinking that maybe Nintendo would have done better marketing it the other way around. Look how many gamers are calling it an underpowered home console when it really isn't a home console.

I agree the 3DS is doing well but Nintendo should kill off support and go all in on the Switch. The 3ds has been out long enough.

@romeothebeast: sorry dude I just get tired of the whole power ordeal, think about this..it's really a tablet a really powerful tablet that's capable of running games that are on PS4/xbone yes don't deny it, if they are unreal 4 games then yes they can run on switch. Nintendo in regards to not calling it a handheld really is doing what Microsoft and Sony did with the 360/PS3 milking that revenue because of a big install base plus the console only last about 3-4 hrs on average as aposed to the 3DS which last about 7-8 I did a whole video about this https://youtu.be/RYlwfdBmJ6k check it out and keep an open mind

@romeothebeast: Or have it play 3ds carts on split screen mode. I would have preordered the switch and bought new 3ds immediately.

@romeothebeast: Well, it is convertible. If nothing else, it is getting inspiration from likes of Surface Pro 3 or 4; a tablet (portable), laptop (with keyboard cover attached), even light desktop (if you connect it to docking station and desktop peripherals) in one package. Of course it cannot provide same power as real desktops or big gaming laptops, but it willingly trades raw power for jack-of-all-trades philosophy. And it works fine as such, most of the time.

Likewise, Switch is designed to replace all gaming-wise. Smart devices with touch screen inclusion; portable consoles such as Vita and GB; living room gaming through dock and full-size peripherals. It will not excel at everything, but it willingly trades "most-powerful-this-and-that" for "I can go anywhere and everywhere". With one library of games, too.

It keeps me curious, even if I never had Nintendo before. I'll keep an eye on it. Maybe not right on release, but as games interesting for me keep appearing, I can see myself getting one.

It's kinda unfair to directly compare the Switch's power to a bunch of dedicated home consoles when we all know it's really a portable; it was never gonna match those other systems in terms of power. Ultimately though, it's still the one of most powerful dedicated handheld gaming devices we've ever seen.

@amaneuvering: Not unfair at all. Nintendo is marketing it as both a home console and a handheld. As a home console it is kind of a failure.

@Deadlysyns87: failure because of what ? The power ? "OMG it's SOOOOO underpowered, it's soooooo full of shit blablabla"

Stop that stupid argument. Nintendo consoles have never needed that much power, it would be stupid of them trying to compete with PS and Xbox. There are already too much on the market, powerful consoles and PC are in a war, Nintendo is aside bothering no one and that's why they're still here.

@isariamkia: As far as multiplatform games go, from a 3rd party AAA game perspective, the Switch is in trouble. Sony and X1 platforms have a 70 million unit lead on the Switch, and 3rd parties won't allocate resources to making exclusive Switch games until there is a large enough install base, and won't port games either if data shows that a large percentage of Switch owners also own an X1 or PS4. That's why the specs matter.

If more devs produce handheld style games like octopath for the Switch, though, and other high quality titles in the handheld style game, then the Switch could sell as much as the 3DS and you have the added benefit of playing Nintendo's console franchises as well. I still think the system should have been compatible with 3DS carts via split screen.

@consolehaven: For what I remember the Wii wasn't powerful and it worked because it was innovative, the Switch is more innovative than the Wii, the same thing could repeat.

But clearly, what counts now are the sales, the third parties could even make Switch exclusives if they think that no one will buy their game on Switch if they already have xbox and ps, that couldn't hurt them and couldn't hurt the video game market.

If it was compatible with the 3DS I think it would kill the 3DS, they don't want to stop the 3DS support.

I was at Costco yesterday and they had an Acer Predator desktop with an i7- 6700, 32ddr4, a 256 ssd, a 1tb 7200, and a freaking 8gb gtx 1070 for $1000. It boots in about 6 seconds. I'm curioous where the scorpio will land price wise, but I think I'm good for a few years.

ROFLMAO! Some people need to think for a second or two. The Nintendo Switch is 100% the replacement for the WiiU, granted. It's also the next generation Nintendo handheld. There are more 3DS family handheld devices sold than the other consoles currently on the market, with the obvious caveat that they have been on the market longer, and they are also a niche device. However how many Xbox & PlayStation games sell as well as Pokémon games do? Sun & Moon recently hit over 4.5m copies sold, and Nintendo sold 7.3m copies of first party games in the last quarter of 2017 on the 3DS. The PS4 is jut over 50m units sold, and the 3DS exceeded that in 2015, with the 3DS sales obviously tapering off at this point, the newest copy of Pokémon was also the fastest to reach over 4m units sold.

Granted the Switch won't kill the 3DS right away, like it is the WiiU, it will be more akin to the way the XBone and the PS4 are killing off their predecessors, but the point remains that Nintendo won't be able to keep the Switch and the 3DS from competing against one another. With the increased graphical power, and ability to play on your living room TV, the Switch will eventually kill off the 3DS. All Nintendo has to do this year is release a Zelda, Mario, and Pokémon game for the Switch and everyone will be buying it up like it's candy at the dollar store, and one of those is a launch title, with the second one coming this summer, and the third rumored to be in the works as well. Add into that the upgraded Mario Kart 8, Splatoon 2, and the impending Metroid and Smash Bros. games that will probably be announced at e3, and you have Nintendo coming back strong, and proving that graphics aren't as important to gamers as good solid games are.

@Otawo: I think there is potential for the switch to fuel sales of 3DS through cross platform games. I love the 3d effect of the 3DS and it would be great to have certain DL titles play on both platforms.

@isariamkia: Well, I think what's happening is: Many people talk positively about the console while dissing the others, (true of many console gamers from any brand), or are lauding it while completely ignoring the fact that there are few big titles at launch, and hardly any announced with firm release dates between now and Christmas because of lack of 3rd party support AND acting like it doesn't matter. So, objectively speaking, you have to be a big fan of Nintendo to support the Switch right now. That said, who cares if you're a big fan of Nintendo and want to have the Switch right now? You'll still have a ton of titles to play on it to keep you busy, and most people who buy it now also own an Xbox or PS4 or both, so you have a ton of content between big releases. In the end, because of its portability, the Switch should be quite successful on its own, and if it is, Nintendo will have found a niche in the home console market, as neither Sony, nor MS will want to make one like it for a decade or more.

@consolehaven: But there's a difference between fanboy and fan. I always preferred Nintendo over other consoles and even if I want to see them having success I can tell when they are wrong, I won't defend Nintendo over things that are obviously wrong, that's the difference with a fanboy, a fanboy would defend Nintendo no matter what and wouldn't be capable of giving good arguments.

@isariamkia: Well, the best argument for a consumer is : I want to buy what you're making. No one can argue against that. However, going on to say it's better than the alternative products on the market is highly debatable, and one can make an objective case that the Switch won't be a good proposition for a long time to come for consumers that can only afford one console.

Looking forward to the Switch, think it'll be interesting, so we'll see. Otherwise, I can't believe Xbox is moving onto a new console already! Never heard about it. Hate to sound old (I'm 28 lol) but I'm just getting settled into appreciating my PS4 and I got it close to launch. Sometimes I feel the gaming industry moves a little too fast. Maybe that's just the technological age at work! =p

Fix the xbox one S. It does not support the Kinect without an adapter. Which is hard to even find nowaday. It's basically just a USB adapter because it makes it so you can connect the kinect to a PC. But the Xbox One S does not actually have a Kinect Port.

Bad information on the Xbox storage. It is expandable, and the article states it is not. You can plug in USB 3.0 drives for virtually unlimited storage.

Let's fix the date for the switch on that there chart. Should be released already considering the information here.

Really though....the switch doesn't hold a chance competing against the likes of playstation/Xbox. Especially with its underpowered hardware and gimmicky setup and or features.

Know what I'm doing with my gaming time...? Taking my MONSTER computer and putting it in my living room. Making it the gaming beast of the living room once again. That is why I buy my gaming equipment.....to game on. Not to make claims of its capabilities. Especially when that system has practically zero games and is launching in less than two months. Not to mention a brand new online ecosystem that is going to take years to perfect.

I'm don't being a fully invested beta player. For both the games and the companies ideals. I will happily sit back and watch the dust settle over this one. If there is a chance in hell of the system making it.....I'll buy one at the price drop. As that is going to be inevitable...especially if they do not sell well.

For some reason I have this impending WiiU doom like sensation looming over me as I anticipate their launch of the switch. I am hoping of good things for them, but I can not shake this horrible feeling of impending failure.

I primarily game on PC though I'm a collector that owns pretty much everything (with the one notable exception being a Neo Geo, I mean I even have a PC-FX and an iQue, but no Neo Geo and it's driving me crazy). Obviously, I have a PS4 and an Xbox One and could game on those but I rarely do because the only reason to game on those would be for exclusives...and there just aren't enough this generation.

So needless to say, I was gonna buy a Switch regardless, but if you can't see the appeal in a Switch then you clearly have no interest in handhelds and you aren't part of the target demographic.

I love the concept of the Switch. I used to carry a PS2 with an LCD with me to high school back in the early to mid 2000s. I've wanted a portable home console experience since I was a kid. Because of that my favorite handheld is the PSP. I feel like it really did the best thus far of executing that dream (obviously with the exception of the Nomad and the Turbo Express/PC Engine GT).

@youdiemofo: It's neither gimmicky nor underpowered. It's the successor to 3DS and is more powerful in 2017 than 3DS was in 2011. It's about as powerful as it realistically could be.
