Sony Won't Allow In-Development Ark: Survival Evolved on PS4, Dev Says

Sony does need a proper early access program, it would prevent publishers from lying about games being completed to get them released.... See 7 days to die which is clearly still an alpha yet was released as a complete game

If they allow it, it should be free. Just incase they decide to "switch gears" and abandon it.... They already sold over 5 million units so they have plenty of money to finish it.

Yet they allowed 7 Days to Die which is an uncomplete earlier version of what the game is currently on PC...

They are basically saying, "Complain to Sony because they won't allow us to release a half baked unfinished game on PS4 so we can rip you off with something that is not up to the standards you expect." Good luck with that one.

How about you don't release at all on PS4 and take your lazy piece meal PC attitude back to where it came from. A game is not a proper retail game until it's finished and polished, unless it's a free beta or a serialised game released in episodes.

Yet Paragon has an early access, still in development version running on PS4 now.....I'm confused. I'm assuming ARK has no intention of having a finished version of the game and will forever be (in development) Sony would not refuse a game like this unless the developer has no true plan on when the game will actually be finished.

yeap but the bigger thing is ark would not be getting paid for a beta. If this was truly about the gamer then this wouldn't be as big a thing. Obviously this is about the cash and not the gamer.

Alright Sony, expand into this market there's enough demand for it to be profitable.

It's a good thing. I wish Steam had a bit more restraint when letting half finished games onto the platform.

Who gives a rat's ass about ARK? If there's a petition to let me throw my money at Subnautica on another platform, I'll sign it in a heartbeat; otherwise, finish your game.

Funny all the Sony pony fanboys making every excuse they can to turn this around and defend Sony. Xbox has surpassed the PS and pony boys are going crazy. With the S and eventually Scorpio coming out soon there will be no reason to own a PS except for playing Uncharted or God of War every 3 years. The PS is being left behind like a flip phone

Umm.. So is GameSpot tying to help this developer by piblishing an article in attempt to "force" Sony to implement an Game Preview/Early Access equivalent for PS4? Sounds like an asshole move by GameSpot to write this article in such a way. This articles headline is disrespectful and dishonest in what's really going on here.

This is a developer of a popular Alpha/Beta game who is pushing for Sony to allow its game. While early access is cool, I don't think it's something Sony should primarily focus on right now. I hope it comes soon, but there are more important things.
