I found a couple of things today:

  1. Final Fantasy, NES, v. fine, cart only, $8 (trade fodder)
  2. Snoopy's Silly Sports Spectacular, NES, n. mint, cart only, $8
  3. Castlevania Chronicles, GEN, n. mint, cart and box, $8 (trade fodder)
  4. Pirates of Dark Water, GEN, v. fine, cart only, $2
  5. Final Fantasy VII GH, PS1, fine, no manual, $5 (trade fodder)
  6. Final Fantasy VIII GH, PS1, v. fine, no manual, $5 (trade fodder)
  7. Armored Core: Nine Breaker, PS2, n. mint, complete, $9 (system link duplicate)
  8. The Guy Game, Xbox, n. mint, complete, $9 (trade fodder)
  9. Me & My Katamari, PSP, n. mint, complete with poster, $10
I traded away 5, 6, and 8 for about $33 in store credit this evening.  Though the store that I visited usually gives 50% of the sale price as trade credit and they sell Final Fantasy for $19.95, they were only going to give me $3 for it, so I'm holding on to it for a while.

My eBay purchase of these snazzy DS cartridge cases came today!  3 cases, 3 games each = 9 games.  $8 total.

I use those same cases. I can comfortably fit 5 of them in the Nintendo portfolio DS case. They rule.

CodingGenius asked for Wii games in the last topic. Elebits is a game that I enjoyed very much. You may too.

I picked up a couple of good deals over lunch today.

  1. Mr. Driller, PS1, v. fine, complete, $5
  2. Tom and Jerry in House Trap, PS1, n. mint, complete, $5
  3. Grandia III, PS2, n. mint, complete with reg. card, $5! (the people were not game experts)
  4. Gungriffon Allied Strike, Xbox, v. fine, complete, $5.99 (ditto)
I already have the last two, so they'll soon become trade credit unless anyone here wants them.

I just bought Yoshis Island 2 DS off Ebay for $40 (about $60 or more in shops) and it said it posts through Hong Kong but it is a UK/PAL version. Anyway AFTER I bidded on it I checked the comments and alot of people were saying he was selling counterfeit games, still works some of them but how can this guy get away with this. It said it was new in box and english manual but some people are saying the box isn't good and the manual is in another language.  What do I do if it doesn't work will I have to pay the $20 shipping each way or something? That would just be pointless :(

Looks like you're bumming.  It's a tough lesson to learn, but usually most of us have to learn it through experience, at least you got off for only $40, it could have been worse.

Try trading it in at a used gamestore, maybe they won't notice.

I no longer buy GBA on eBay for exactly the reason clubhaxor describes. I believe that the seller can be reported to eBay for selling fake merchandise, but they'd likely just start up another account. If it doesn't work, just keep it and throw it away. Don't waste your money shipping it back.

You can file a claim with eBay regarding counterfeit goods as "item not as described" or something like that, through which you can potentially get a refund. It will also flag that seller in eBay's eyes and it may have already happened with another buyer.

I haven't seen any counterfeit DS carts yet (and known it), but I've seen quite a few faked Pokemon games on the GBA. They play fine, but many have the Nintendo logo spelled "Nintondo" (yeah) and misprinted, the printing and label paper quality is low, and the cartridges are never the fashion colors that they are supposed to be. If you see a Pokemon Fire Red GBA cart that isn't actually red, it's a fake. Have there been any color DS cartridges?

Yeah, sort of.  Add the $5.99 (gouge job) shipping and it becomes an even $6, but I'll take it.

That's pretty good; I'm missing 21 Tengen NES games, though I'm not seeking them very actively.  I'd like to get a box for my copy of Grind Stormer on Genesis, though.

I decided to finally spend some of my accrued store credit to get some of the more interesting ex-rental games (all cart only, which is why I hesitated) at my local game store. There are stickers on all, but not on the labels. I picked:

  1. Arrow Flash, GEN, v. fine, cart only, $6.95
  2. DinoLand, GEN, fine, cart only, $5.95
  3. Jennifer Capriati Tennis, GEN, v. fine, cart only, $1.95
  4. Shadow Blasters, GEN, v. fine, cart only, $3.95
  5. Todd's Adventures in Slime World, v. fine, cart only, $3.95
  6. Whip Rush, GEN, v. fine, cart only, $2.95
  7. Doomsday Warrior, SNES, v. fine, cart only, $9.95
  8. Super Bonk, SNES, n. mint, cart only, $9.95 (the recent discussion piqued my interest)
I have enjoyed every Renovation Products title I've played so far, so I decided to try a few others.

On another of my Ebay escapades :P I bought a cable which allows me to hook up my Sega Mega Drive II through the AV inputs and it even restored the sound to my system which I didn't have with my old cable which was taped together and finally broke. Now I don't have to do a search everytime I want to play :D I missed hearing Timon say 'It's starts' when playing Lion King :'( All good now 8)

Perhaps we should have a sticky were we can keep track of known sellers on ebay who pull crap like this.

Got Gears of War from bestbuy for $10 off and a 360 wireless controller from CircuitCity for $10 off. The next day I got $45 reward zone gift certificates (yay purchasing my new TV at bestbuy for cheaper than anywhere else AND getting an additional $45 worth of gift certificates), so Ill be purchasing some other new game soon (I usually try to wait for price drops).

Rhino's phase-out of older stock is underway; if you haven't seen their prices on older games, perhaps today's purchases will entice you. The Dreamcast, SNES, Genesis and NES games are 75% off, and PS1 and N64 games are Buy One, Get One, hence all the free ones below.

  1. Animaniacs, GEN, v. fine, complete, $0.60 (duplicate)
  2. Tom and Jerry Frantic Antics, GEN, v. fine, complete, $1.05
  3. WolfChild, GEN, n. mint, cart only, $0.60
  4. Raiden Trad, SNES, v. fine, cart only, $1.05
  5. Time Trax, SNES, v. fine, cart only, $0.60
  6. Diablo, PS1, n. mint, complete, $8.99 (duplicate for about a quarter of its eBay price)
  7. Dragon Valor, PS1, cracked case, complete, Free from sale (duplicate)
  8. Final Fantasy IX original, n. mint, complete, $16.19 (duplicate, my other is sealed)
  9. Koudelka, PS1, crushed case and broken spindles, complete, Free from sale (duplicate)
  10. Warcraft II: The Dark Saga, PS1, v. fine, complete, $13.49
  11. Automobili Lamborghini, N64, fine, cart only, $4.49
  12. Bomberman Hero, N64, v. fine, cart only, Free from sale
  13. Carmageddon 64, fine, cart only, Free from sale
  14. Hercules The Legendary Journeys, N64, v. fine, cart only, $4.49
  15. Shadowgate 64, N64, n. mint, cart only, Free from sale
  16. Snowboard Kids, N64, n. mint, cart only, $13.49
  17. Starcraft 64, N64, v. fine, cart only, $22.49
