[QUOTE="Allicrombie"][QUOTE="rragnaar"] The game makes a bad first impression, but underneath the crap, there is a fantastic game. Also, this isn't system wars, so most of the people in this thread are actually playing the game.:P_Dez_
I kind of wanna play it myself, having played GT1-GT4. I'm horrid at racing games though.I'm a pretty poor racer myself, but it's been a real fun ride so far online and off... minus some of the challenges. I angrily shake my fist at that intermediate Lotus challenge. You run over a pebble and that car spins around like its tires were dipped in grease, not to mention the slightest mistake will disqualify you... argh!
By the way, thanks for the Ferrarri, Solid. That thing's a beast, it's so powerful I can barely control it, but it's fun to use. If you guys are doing HP restriction, then that's the fastest car I have so far. Everything else is about 150hp+ with the exception of one or two cars.
lol i have no idea why you have so much trouble with the Nascar races. The challenges i understand are tough to gold, but the races we did on the Daytona track are really easy. You never have to pull off the gas, simply follow the yellow line (shortest route) steering just enough to keep your car straight. If you find yourself behind, try to get right behind the car infront of you or if it's too far ahead of you, find a partner and stay behind him, it should give you BOTH a boost. So last night when i was ahead and you and steel were neck and neck, instead of trying to take over each other, simple partner up, and you both will get a speed increase. we will try that next time if you arent completely sick of Nascar. :P
That lotus is a pos, i refuse to take that challenge or any top gear challenge. just not for me. as for getting Silver in the Nurburgring challenge, all you need to do is turn down the traction control which is set at max (10) by default. that controls your accelartion input i believe, i turned it down to five and saw an immediate increase in my time. But the car was harder to control. I balanced it by turning on the Active Steering to Mild and setting the ABS up a bit. After a few tries, i was able to set Traction control all the way down to 1. I easily beat the full track in time for a Silver. just remember that ABS, Active steering and Traction control all control your brakes and acceleration, so while they will keep you from spinning out, they definitely keep you from reaching the fastest times.
