Are Men smarter than Women?

For the record, rationality is only one of many possible ways of judging intelligence. There is also absration, problem solving, planning, creativity, personality, character, knowledge and wisdom, among other things.

It's offensive becuase you say it like all women wanted to do throughout history is raise children when in fact that's all they were allowed to do by a male dominated society.

A lot of studies have shown that women are indeed smarter than men, however a recent study done in europe (recent as like 3 years ago) has shown that while overall women have a higher IQ then men, the chances of a woman being a genius are pretty small (5-6 % ) and that of a woman inventor are also quite small ( roughly 14%), it is believed that this is mainly because of their education (a girl is satisfied if she has A's in all her classes, while a boy doesn't care if he flunks some as long as he is an olimpic in one field). Also, while women scored higher than men overall, out of the best 20 scores only 3 belonged to women (the 5th the 10th and the 11th).

So it all depends on how you look at things, saying that men are smarter is just as right as saying that women are.

I am quoting this out of a magazine that is released in my university (the senior year took part in the test), if i can find a version in english i'll add a link

PS: i study robotics and while there is a girl in my university with better grades than me, i have never seen her come up with something original in any way, but she can learn hundreds of pages by heart and that helps her in the exams. In the end however i am certain that i will make a better engineer than her. (that's a personal example that i have)

That providing for the family (eg Working and being forced to be away from the family) WOULD PROBABLY be harder than caring for the kids and doing the housework. This of course does not apply all the time, as alot of the time Women had to work twice as hard at home than the men, but I was just stating my opinion.

hey never underestimate the difficulty of looking after kids, it's not just making them sandwiches, they scream, they throw things, they kick, they scream more, it's emotionally draining, then you clean, cook, do laundry, do shopping (with the screaming kids), then get belittled by the man in your life when he gets home. AND YOUR GETTING PAID TO AVOID ALL THIS!

Which is compeltely incorrect. Ask any parent and they'lll tell you raising a child si the HARDEST job in the world and there's absolutely no resbite from it. The sterotype is that the man has ahard job works frm 9-5 then goes home and rests. While the woman works the entire day. And that includes physically work (especially in the part) most likely just as strenous as whatever the hell the man was doing.

Add to the fact that women DID work in the past and their jobs were most often some of the worst around. Same with children.

The only reason a higher amount of women are getting into universities, is because of special treatment. All the equal rights crap and women's rights groups have literally forced hundreds of women into positions men better deserve. Yeah, i said it.

Men are better at some things than women. Unfortuanatly, we live in a world where Woman are arrogant enough to think otherwise, and some men are becoming ignorant enough to believe them. God bless our modern world.

As a man working in a scientific field where we are pretty much equal in numbers, I prefer to work with women.

In general they are equal in the skills and smarter for the "social" part.

Wow you really do live in a fantasy land don't you. I don't know about the rest of the world, but in the United States there are femanists organizations and women promotional groups and all those other equal rights groups which have been giving educational funding, pushing for Quota's in colleges,and jobs, (Both for minorities and women), etc. etc. This is the 21'st century, you can't pull that "But life's so hard" crap anymore. Maybe for those in poverty stricken regions, but that's true for all gender's and races.

In the past, I worked with what some people would call "genius" and some were total dumbass for the social side. They did'nt even have basic social skills such as trying to be friendly and respectful with others. They were dumb people(now I say this but I WAS very friendly and respectful with them, unlike them). Intelligence doesn't necessary go with a high IQ as proven in those cases.

Social Skills have little to do with intelligence. "social skills" essentially means how good you are at relating with other people. However, most geniuses have an intellect far greater and thus it is harder for them to communicate to normal people.
