What's it like being able to turn into a robot?

(I'm sorry I am not being offensive I just can't take things like this seriously because it's not an issue for me i.e. I don't care what you dress in (physically, or emotionally/mentally))

So you're a man (with a penis who identifies as a female but doesn't dress up as a male and you're attracted to girls?

Sorry if I'm sounding rude but I'm trying to get it straight, wouldn't you be a lesbian?

How & when did you begin to recognize that you felt different in regards to your gender? Did you immediately decide to begin identifying better with the gender you felt more comfortable with? If not, what gave you the confidence to finally do it? What type of issues do you deal with as a transgender? Any are there any other things would you like to discuss. The reason I ask is because of all the things in the world transgenders are one of the few things that make me uncomfortable, and I would like to become informed about transgender so that I can get the hell over my own prejudice.

well i first realized when i was 12 or 13 but it took me a while to realize it. and i finally grew the confidence about 2 years ago when i came out to my best friend jenna and we frequently go out shopping and to chicago with me being who i am. and most of the issues i deal with is the same that homosexuals deal with and thats prejudice with people who dont understand me.which is part of the reason i created this thread so i can help people understand us

ok, my understanding with hormones might be off lol, but having more effeminate traits (from female hormones) and a firmer mindset; through a better mental progression. I'm sure that its totally plausible.

yes in theory its plausible but usually hormones just affect physical appearances. making facial features softer, facial and body hair comes in less and less, the hair on someones head will grow out and become softer, it also alters the voice as well and creates natural forming breasts. so yes in theory having more effeminate traits could change the mindset of a transgendered but as far as im concerned im attracted to women and only women

You are. With birth control pills. The more you take them, the more you are susceptable to breast cancer.

Oh, and on topic, do you like skirts as much as I do? :3 I love skirts. Especially with sweatpants or jeans under them. :)

I can't answer for FUBAR, but for me, it's as far back as I can remember. I always had a tough time relating to anyone, and being told to do X when I wanted Y. I remember asking a girl in senior kindergarten if she'd be my friend(I was naive back then) and she said she won't be friends with boys, which utterly confused me at the time. I went home and asked what the difference is between a boy and a girl, and my parents gave really vague, awkward answers. :P As I got older as a child, I was pushed into things my dad wanted out of me, and wanted me to be interested in. Various sports, random rugged things like camping and carpentry. I stuck with hockey a bit, but that was it. Not to say it was the idea of those activities that turned me off, it was just that it usually involved teams, and there was a lot of male bravado involved that both confused and perturbed me. Really, as a child, it was me thinking one thing was how it should be, and my parents saying, no, it's this other way. Basically a bit of a confused childhood. Girls would ask to e my girlfriend, and once I clued in that they meant dating, I really didn't think it was logical. I really didn't understand why they wanted to date me, because while I never saw myself as a guy so much as just a blank slate of a person stuck in the middle; androgynous without knowing the word for it. I felt like a girl, but looked a tiny bit male, so I figured puberty.....this thing I heard of from my brother and cousins, would be good for me, as it transformed them into happy adults who seemed happy being who they were. I wasn't that happy of a kid, obviously. I wasn't a loner, but I often left myself a lot of time to think about things. When puberty hit, I knew something was seriously, seriously wrong. My body was changing into something I didn't want, and my entire early puberty years were a living hell of anxiety and depression. I already felt disconnected from pretty much everyone, I felt something was deeply wrong with me, and I reated it as a secret, and I holed up into myself and excluded myself from everyone in as many ways as I could without gathering much attention. I gained trust issues, especially after researching my condition. Imagine, being 14 or 15 and watching Boys Don't Cry...probably the second worst decision I made in my life, it scared me further into "the closet" due to the rape scene and the friends betraying the main character, and the general response to him. Really struck a chord and terrified me, and brought me from being a step away from telling my parents about it, to being paranoid and scared of eve my closest friends for a while. I was scared to do anything about my transsexuality due to fear of violence, getting thrown out/disowned, killed, etc. Luckily, the internet was there, and across a few years time I eventually had a wealth of knowledge on how to proceed with my life, and after a good long while, I eventually came out to family and many friends, and have only had to deal with a few people opposed to the idea so far. What gave me the confidence? Well, more or less I set a deadline for myself and missed it, and beat myself up about it. I didn't do anything about it, but I set another deadline, and I passed that one as well. I decided I needed to walk it out, and I basically talked myself into coming out(I must have looked like a lunatic to anyone who was up that night, walking down the street talking to myself :P ). I went home, and decided I'd write a letter about it, and send it out. Instead I talked to people about it, and never used the letters, but whatever. In my mind, I've identified with being female since puberty hit. I slowly allowed more personality traits come out as I got more comfortable with my being transsexual. It's helped with my transition so far, I'm still the same person everyone knows, I'm just making small changes here and there. I've gone through some electrolysis so I've had to show up with some weird facial hair sometimes, but due to my gender specialist retiring(and my province's driving instructors being on strike), I haven't been able to proceed with my therapy to further the transition(I'd need to drive a few hours away to get help, and I'd need a valid license for that). Issues that have to be dealt with? Well, image issues definitely. Waking up each morning and looking in the mirror can ruin my day, and frequently did while I was in high-school. I avoided mirrors for years when I was younger, and I still don't like how my body looks. Male clothing sucks and makes me feel like I'm masquerading, and that I look silly, especially formal clothing. Of course, I don't have the body for much female attire, so the same applies to that currently with a few exceptions. It's hard having conversations with other girls sometimes when they get into girl-centric discussions, and they occasionally make jabs like I don't know what I'm talking about. Being transsexual pre-transition pretty much makes you feel excluded from both sexes, because you don't feel male, and you're not accepted as female. I'm certain that even as I get further into transition, I'll still be called out and have issues passing, and people will see me as shameful or something. I have to worry about violence, and the social stigma surrounding transsexuals. Most discussion on us doesn't involve compliments, some physically unpleasing girls get coined as "nasty trannies"(my friends are guilty of saying this term far too often for my liking, but they've eased up lately; hard curbing a habit), and we're considered male even after transition by some. Some think transsexuals are just gay men who want to prey on straight men. Many people think it's deception for transsexuals who are through transition to not tell someone on their first date(or even before) that they "used to be a man(or woman, in FtM cases)" which is frustrating AND dangerous. Dangerous, because that person might feel offended. That person might feel seriously disgusted with themselves for being attracted to what they view as a man now, and if they battle a bottled up homophobia, it can be dangerous. Or word can spread if you're in a smallish neighbourhood, and it could reach the ears of some particularly violent folks. A friend of mine was assaulted one day after work by someone who had seen her at a party that weekend and had heard a rumour. Luckily she only came away with a broken jaw and some bruised ribs, and she fought the dude off enough to get inside her home and call the cops, but some other friends of mine haven't been quite so lucky. We have expensive procedures and sessions ahead of us in transition, and anyone who isn't decently well off could be crippled by such costs. In the USA, a fair amount of insurance companies will cut you off of their plan if they learn you're transsexual. Luckily, I live in Canada, where that doesn't happen, but in my province, transition is only provincially funded by going through a variety of hoops at this one facility that treats transsexuals like child molesters and serial killers, and is generally unpleasant. Job prospects can be tricky in some places but larger companies have gotten much better about transitioning, although hiring transsexuals is another issue in itself though, that doesn't happen often. I can only speak for myself, a Male to Female transsexual, one portion of the umbrella term transgender, but I'll provide as much insight and input as possible to help curb any negative stigma surrounding folks like us. We're regular people just trying to overcome one of life's obstacles. People deal with cancer, people deal with strkes, people deal with autism, people deal with being intersexed, and people deal with transsexalism. It doesn't make us less or more human, and what we're born with between our legs does not define us. :) If you have any other questions, or feel I haven't answered one well enough, please, ask away. Anything to spread knowledge.

Why would I want to know anything about a transgendered person? All I need to know is that they are weird.

Well, why post on the topic then? :| Just asking...

Because I can.
