Absolutely dispicable and rude behavior. I cannot even begin to explain how innapropiate shouting the word "liar" to the President of the United States during a joint speech to Congress is. He's already released an "apology" statement. This is getting out of hand. When are people, espcially those we elect to represent our states, going to start showing respect to the President?

Clip (Towards the end)

Really shows the depths to which certain radical republicans are willing to sink. While their radicalism may win them their arguments now, just wait until the sane (moderate) republicans begin to start voting democrat because of them and they lose everything. I'm no democrat, nor am I am republican, but I really dread a situation where only one party is considered a reasonable choice.

No, he was attempting to debunk the rumors about the health care bill and a Congressman who decides it's ok to be 5 again shouts out "liar" to him.

Funny. I enjoy it when politics get politically incorrect. That's why I sometimes watch the Canadian government bicker.

You know, some guys did a study during the 60s, and they found that the fastest way to destroy the American government would be to elect a bunch of dumbasses who'll ruin the economy and essentially act like monkeys in diapers. The people will eventually get tired of it, revolt, enter a state of anarchy and then finally rebuild society from scratch.

I'm starting to see where they were coming from.

Its because people are starting to believe their own lies. Its one thing to lie to the people, cuz we will believe anything, but dont buy into your own crap.

"BOoooooooooooo!"
"Dude, why are you booing?"
"Cuz he is wrong"
"No, he is right, we just spread lies"
"We did?"
"Yea"
"Oh yea, but what about that other lie?"
"you mean this lie, or the other lie, or the lie from the other day?"
"Oh, the other day"
"Well the other lie from the other day was in reference to that other lie, so they cancel eachother out"
"Huh?"
"Nothing...just dont boo, it looks bad, is poor form, and makes you look stupid for buying into your own crap"

Well, that seems kind of expected; no big deal here.

Oh, wait, this was a joint session of Congress to which the president was speaking? I thought this was in an elementary school playground. My mistake.

No, in fact his message was an explanation about theories that have been proved to be lies. Regardless if you think the President is lying, I don't think a joint session to Congress that's nationally televised is the best place to shout out your opinion.

There were people like you, on the other side, saying the exact same thing during Bush's presidency. And yet, most of the people on these forums thought he didn't deserve respect. There are now people who believe Obama does not deserve any respect. It's called opposition, and it's the foundation of a republic like ours, so deal with it. A lie is a lie. It doesn't matter who tells it, and it doesn't matter who points it out. Need I remind you, we pay Obama's salary. The president works for me. He works for you. He works for the American people, period. We do not work for him. I don't necessarily think Obama is a liar, but if I do think he is twisting the truth, I will not show deference by giving him a pass. Republicans all around the country have been targeted during speeches in the same way, by Democrats. I have no sympathy for your argument, and I'm not even a Republican.

I didn't think that blatant displays of disrespect towards Bush were warranted, either. I consistently refuse to use epithets like "Killary", "Shrub", "N0bama", and "McSame" because I maintain that no matter how much I might disagree with someone, they are still a human being, not just a collection of political positions to oppose. That others have done similar actions does not make it right to do the same now.

Funny. Bush starts a war with no conscience to blow up brown people. No one ever had the audacity to stand up during a joint speech and yell "Liar!" or "Murderer!" That would be disrespectful.

Obama wants to overhaul healthcare to help millions of people in this country and yet you have a Republican fool who disrespects the President like a child.

I'm sure you've seen the townhall debates too. Can't constructively debate or compromise? Well we might as well just drown out the opposition. I mean what's more patriotic than drowning out public discourse with the national anthem right? The republican party is becoming more and more fringe, and this just hurts our country in the long run. Why they fail to realize petty stunts like this are exactly the reason why they're becoming more and more fringe I'll never know.

A-MAZING!

Bush started a war? Incredible how one man took control of Congress.

Somebody throws a shoe at Bush; GS users than make a gif of it.

Somebody yells liar to Obama; GS users get offended.

I see a pattern here.

Even if he was a Congressman, it was just a comment.

The show tosser was just some nutty reporter who pretty much failed at the simple task of throwing something. We're talking about an elected official acting like a 5-year-old.

Still, it's an act of violence (if only very minor :P) or an act of immaturity. I think Obama will be just fine after that comment.

I didn't justify or condone what that South Carolina senator did. I pointed out a rampant hypocritical tendency that Obama supporters often display.

Funny. I enjoy it when politics get politically incorrect. That's why I sometimes watch the Canadian government bicker.

Nifty_Shark
I recall a class trip in high school to Toronto's provincial parliament, to attend one of their sessions. It ran about an hour, with vulgar insults being tossed out like candy on Halloween, and childish behaviour that made me wonder exactly what grade those people flunked out of school. Politics are awesome. It's like debate class but with zero grey zone and a complete and utter lack of knowledge and respect.

Reading comprehension 101. I said the party is full of all types of idiots, not all.

Let's say Obama was lying. There is a time and a place for it to call him out on any lie. If I did that in a meeting with my boss I would have a one way ticket to the HR office.

For you to imply that this kind of behavior is ok is hilarious.

Omni-Slash

Govt 101...the president is not the boss.......He is a component in the Govt....We the People are the Boss.....

At least you acknowledge that you think this behavior is appropriate.

You do realize the United States is a Democratic Republic yes? Do me a favor and call the President and make it like you are his boss and tell him what to do. Let me know how that works for you.

Was Bush able to solely plunge the US into war? No. Was his administration responsible for it's preparation, push through congress, and execution? Yes.
