He needs to be dealt with...

She's still alive but a gun shot to the head is pretty hard to survive through :( This is sad for every american, no matter what political alliance you have.Sp4rtan_3
Didn't a secret service agent get shot in the head protecting a president (I think Reagan, may be wrong) and survive?
Anyways, definitely glad to hear she is still alive. With any luck she could make a recovery. You would be surprised at what people can survive.
Exactly, as heated as American politics can get, there are lines that never, ever get crossed. An assassination attempt or a successful one is an abhorrent tragedy, no matter what.Did they get the guy who did it?

It's one thing to protest against politics you don't like, and another to kill a politican.

Since I can't post on the thread I made...you're right, bringing politics into this so quickly without knowing many details was stupid/careless. Wasn't trying to troll though. >_>
Now that is a way to destroy your life...CNN reports the suspect is a 21 year old male.

I hope she pulls through. I really hope this gunmen isn't some crazed Tea party far right wing nut job .Yeah I am really curious as to the full motives.
The way I see it, the guy is either some absolutely psychotic right-winger or a general anti-government psychopath.
And good GOD he is younger than me and shooting politicians?
Jesus Christ, if you are that PO'd about politics just start a freaking punk band or something....

Sometimes you don't need amotive. He may be some psychotic right winger or anti-goverment psychopath. Or he could be a person who was metnally unsable and just snapped.
please dont use such a tragic event to bash another group :(
whatever your belief this is not justifiable
whatever mod deleted that message thank you

Anyone who goes and shoots someone like that is OBVIOUSLY mentally unstable.
Thing is, even the unstable have their motives and quite franly, anyone who is firing at politicians knows EXACTLY what they are doing.
It isn't like she randomly got shot in the street. She was attending a meeting and that guy showed up with a guy.
He definitely had a motive.
Politics in America are stupid. Everyone has the us/them ideology, which only leads to violence. The sooner people realize we have more similarities than differences, and neither side wants to "destroy" the country, the sooner our government will become efficient and actually start looking out for the people.Mousetaches
Politics EVERYWHERE are dumb. Politics in general is just stupid. It ALWAYS ends up being a party Vs. party mentality.
If you think it's bad here, keep in mind other countries have full out BRAWLS breakout occassionally during their congressional/whatever their technical term is meetings EVEN IN THIS DAY AND AGE!!!
It's too easy, and human nature I think, to try and connect the dots before we know what the shooter's motivation was. The only thing I will say is I sure hope it was not politically motivated. That would just make an awful situation even worse. We'll see... I'll sure have a lot to say if it turns out to be. This is a huge deal, a federal judge has already died in the shooting as well...
I know that no news media is ever going to report this. But this women was one of 20 on Palin's "target map"
http://www.alan.com/2010/03/24/palin-puts-gun-sighs-on-target-map-says-ti/
it has since been removed completly from Palin's site, but it seems likely that this shooting was politiclly motivated.

Ok maybe saying they don't need a motive isn't right. I should of said a logical motive. Like Richard Lawrence, thought that he was King Richard III of England andthought that Andrew Jackson was keeping him from becoming King of England. He also thought that Jackson killed is father, but his father never been to the US, so he tried to kill President Jackson, only to have his two weapons misfire and got his butt caned by Jackson.
Or John Hinckley Jr. who tried to Kill President Reagan to impress Jodie Foster.
Well, she is known to crackdown on illegal immigration, and if you ever watched the documentary 'Silver or Lead', this tactic isn't far from what they show what those gangs do.
But all in all, lets wait until we get more info before we speculate this to death wrongly.
I think the bigger question is whether or not the film took place within in a dream itself. Consider this, in order to be asleep so long Cobb and his wife were probably under a sedative and in a Level 3 dream. Later in the movie it is explained that if you die in Level 3 under a sedative you enter Limbo where you can lose track of what is reality and what is a dream, and while in Level 3 both Copp and his wife are killed by a train, so shouldn't they both be in Limbo?
DarkGamer007
I don't know. I don't think it's the bigger question right now. I think the bigger question is if she'll live and who/why the gunman did what he did.
The movie was good, but I don't think it trumps this current event.
