[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"] But surely then, if actions matter, it would make sense for the reciprocal to apply, ie non-Christians who've led good lives should go to heaven.LJS9502_basicI can't address that....as Jesus did not. Who's logic? The TC? He's not using the Bible to come to the proper conclusion.by his logic you are wrong.

[QUOTE="Crushmaster"] Invent an easier version of Christianity? If someone says, "Hey, I'm a Christian now, I'm saved, I can go do whatever I want!" I highly doubt they were ever a Christian.See what I've gotten from your posts is that you admit to lying, stealing etc but say you will be saved because you believe. That is not how it works. You have to strive to NOT do those things. Because even believing in Jesus will not save you if you are not a decent human being.
If you are truly saved, there will be a change.
And I, my friend, have been changed. I am a new creature in Christ Jesus my Lord!LJS9502_basic
[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"][QUOTE="battlefront23"]Ooh. Now we're getting to the root of the matter. The problem is this: is should be the other way round. If I write on a piece of paper that, say, the Muslim God exists, there is absolutely no way to prove that said piece of paper is not inerrant. So by your standards of proof... looks like it's time for a conversion. :lol:Call me brainwashed or w/e, but until someone proves the Bible isn't inerrant, I will believe what it says.
harashawn
The muslim God and Christian God are the same.
Fine, replace 'Muslim' with 'Hindu' if you want. Oh, so homosexuals are abominations now, eh? Don't even get me started...
Listen: I attend a homosexual friendly church. They preform homosexual weddings there. Is that all sin? Are all these people damned to hell? Well then I'm not so sure I agree with God on all this stuff. Maybe he/she should open his/her eyes.
Oh yeah, I went there. Does that mean I'm going to hell now? Thats a shame.
Also, TC, if you were hoping of converting people online, let me tell you, you failed. In fact, before I entered this thread, I was agnostic. Now I'm an atheist, just because of the absolutely opinions you and other Christians have. Don't get me wrong, I respect your belief in God, but I cannot understand how you can defend that terrible book you call holy.
TAKE_IT_BACK
Homosexuality is an abomination; not the homosexual. Adulterery is an abomination; not the adulterer. It's the same thing.
I wouldn't know other then the fact they obviously aren't following what the Bible teaches about the subject. If someone is homosexual who isn't a Christian, then yes they obviously are going to Hell. If a homosexual is struggling to fight it and is a Christian, he will go to Heaven.
I didn't think I would convert you or Llama, but that doesn't mean I know for a fact you guys won't change your mind. That's the hope I have when I go to bed. Then maybe one day it will click for you guys. :)
I desire not to condemn homosexuals, I merely want to help them. Ask Theokhoth. Many Christians (Crush, I'm not referring to anyone from CWU) called him names and said absolutely terrible things about him. I didn't. I asked him merely if he knew what he was doing was wrong. He knows it is and he's trying to be celibate. And I respect him for that. So please, please don't pull the homophobia card on me. I am in no way homophobic; I just desire to help them or anyone else in the world about Jesus. Which is why I post on here. :D

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="Funky_Llama"][QUOTE="Hungry_bunny"]Yeah. The idea that I could live a perfect life and then go 'Oh for God's sake', and just for that I'd be tortured for eternity, doesn't seem at all right to me.I would not take the word of certain sects of Christianity to speak for the reality of Christianity. One is responsible for one's actions. Hiding behind a Christian banner while not living as Christ has taught does not equal salvation. But surely then, if actions matter, it would make sense for the reciprocal to apply, ie non-Christians who've led good lives should go to heaven. It sounds like some posters are saying that one sin (depending on the sin I guess) is enough. Basically, (since NOBODY, including the pope, is THAT perfect) the world consists of 6 billion EVIL individuals and the only way they can be called GOOD is if they accept Christ. That image doesn't feel right to me.

ofcourse age matters, it is with age that you get more knowledge and expirience
No it doesn't. Regardless of age or experience, a young person can say and prove true things. Take Thomas Jefferson for example. One of the youngest men in the Second Cont. Congress. And guess who the Congress voted for to write the Declaration of Independence? Mr. Jefferson. ;)

Did you read that?
Before I started researching this topic on the world-wide-web, I did not realize what a new and controversial issue the genetics of homosexuality was. From tid-bits of news that I had picked up along the way, I thought that scientists had located, without a doubt, a gene that plays a role in influencing sexual orientation. From the research that I have discussed above, that is obviously not the case. I am eager to follow this subject more in the future and see what biology will discover next.

What if the 80-year-old man has Alzheimers?
You may not have noticed...but 33 IS an adult like I stated. I fail to see what that adds to the discussion. There comes a point when people mature...and age no longer means anything. Jefferson WAS an adult at the time. Quite different than had he been 15 and they been in their 30's.:|He was 33. The rest of the Congress were in there fifties.

Experiance is a way of gaining wisdom. Not a prerequsite. Although what is experiance? If I read a book or live a certain time is that experiance?

That's not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that I find that desire very easy to control, unlike my sexual desires.
A thought is not a sin. I don't care about "character assasination" or "adultery" or whatever you wanna call it. Until I commit the act I am not deviant.
Certain thought patterns may be unhealthy or immature but they are not immoral.
If a person with split personalities has one persona where he is a atheist but the other one is christian does he go to hell?

As do I. Sexual sin is probably the hardest sin to defeat for males. (OMG Sexist!) Even I fail a lot when I try to beat it. But that doesn't mean it's right and that's what I was trying to prove the whole time. :P
