Then who created Him? :P

Who created the being that created him? And then who created them? This thread points out how existence makes no sense, because there would need to be an endless chain of creation.

The ultimate Paradox

Or God is eternal. Without a beginning. Thus solving the infinite creators argument.

[QUOTE="lbde"]Because God doesn't exist with in time. Comprehending this is like an ant trying to learn quantaum theory. And I'm not talking about any religous god, I think he's a being we can't possibly comprehend. Ezgam3r

How do you know that god exists outside of time?

The question is does time really exist?Or is it merely a fabrication of mans imagination, what if everything else is?

Yes time exists. Its the duration between two periods. Without time, whats stopping things from happening all at once?

And If God is an eternal creator, he created time, and why would an eternal creator be at the whim of what they created? God shouldn't have any restrictions on what he/she/it can do.

Time does not exist.Time is only a word that is used by man to keep everything under schedule, time is merely an illusion.Like free will,or what we believe to be reality.

Then agaim i could just be talking out of my ass.

Whatever created Creation is probably beyond our mental comprehension.

Leaving God out of the equation, most people say everything started with a Big Bang... but then, what created the Big Bang? THings just don't go BANG for no reason... and even if there was a reason, then we would ask well what led to the CAUSE of that? And then the Cause of that? And so on and so on...

There will never be an ORIGIN - because everything must come from something else.

We're trapped in an infinite cycle of Creation and Procreation with no beginning OR end.

It's logically impossible to determine a single, independent source for everything.

Netherscourge

Well, you can view that the start of everything was at the time of the Big Bang. If something has a beginning, it can be assumed that it may have a creator.

Or you can view the universe as infinite with no boundry. Then there is no need for a creator.

I never made the claim that God exist. I'm just going by one of the main definitions of "God" which is that God is an eternal being, not needing a creator because he/she/it was never created.

Thats what I've been saying since I was 6. I never really told anyone though, cuz they were mainly "Super Catholics" and would be quick to say "No, God made everything, he has the power do DO anything" so I just learned to stfu around them.

You don't understand the concept,we are always at one constant. For example yesterday didn't pass,we are still at that exact same point, inly difference is events have taken place within that constant, resulting in the illusion of time.Ive thought of this extensively,I'm pretty sure thats how it works, well at-least thats my theory.

Noone knows what happened before the Big Bang. And noone knows what God was doing before the Big Bang. We might never know. We might be able to figure out what was going on Right when the Big Bang happened, though.

Think of god as just a being, unlike anything you've ever seen. No morals. No principles, No emotions. Man simply added those things to him and created a "heaven" and "hell" and gave him earth like qualities.

I dont know if there is such a thing as god.No i am not contradicting that theory, see you still dont understand the concept, you dont need time for things to happen. My theory is that we exist(if this is truly reality)within one constant, events only occur within this constant. For example:the sun comes up and goes down, night and day go by,yet time does not move forward because it does not exist. The sun setting merely an event ocurring within this constant, producing the illusion of time.

yes i had thought of that..time is the difference between two events..its a mean of measuring the events that pass by..date/time they are just numbers to pinpoint stuff that happened and will happen..like i have an appointment THURSDAY december 20th at 5:00..if TIME wasnt there how can i know when to go to my appointment

I understand what you're talking about. But, how do you explain death? You die eventually. You will die. What prohibits you from living is time. It is theoretically impossible for you to live infinitely because of time because there is a 100% chance you will not live forever.

If time is an illusion I would be able to go anywhere in any point in time, which is impossible for us mortals.

But things happening is proof of time. If time didn't exist, things will be like a picture, nothing happening as its stuck in one constent. Or all constants happening all at once. Time is the seperation of these constants.

It's also possible that MAN created the universe and God, from imagination. In fact, man's existence may be a figment of hsi OWN imagination... or something else's imagination.

Consider this-

Existence doesn't exist at all. Everything we are and we are experiencing right now is just a massive figment of imagination, that's broken up into millions of independent thoughts and beliefs.

Consider that everything that is happening right now, that has already happened and that will happen - really Won't EVER happen and never has happened. Everything is just a dream that is slowly building itself up logically using bits and pieces of raw "materials" from our own imaginations.

This dream we're in is attempting to justify everything, little by little. It's growing. God right now only exists as an idea in this dream, but eventually our imaginations will create a God that we THINK is real and the God will somehow convice us that he is real. It's impossible to PROVE there is or isn't a God right now, because our imaginations have yet to reacha boundary of what it can come up with. But in actuality, this God is just an evolved figment of our imagination. The same with the universe as a whole - the universe seemd limitless simply because imagination has no limits.

The universe won't end unless our imagination runs out of ideas to keep the dream going.

Sort of like the Matrix world - the Matrix creates a fake world for people to THINK they are existing in - while in reality something more sinister is going on in the REAL world. But the problem, is the Matrix is limited by technology, while the human mind has no limitaiton - eventually the mind will doubt the MAtrix being a living world because imagination will eventually make the Matrix's ruleset obsolete. THen people "wake up" and have to use EMP's to destroy the machines lol SAVE US NEO!!!!

Ok - back to my theory...

Since everything is just a imaginanry dream world right now, it's makes me wonder what if one day we WAKE UP... What will the REAL WORLD be like? What will the person you THINK you are really be? What you think you are might just be part of this big dream. You might be really ugly or really pretty in the REAL world. WHo knows?

Ok - back to my Taco Burger.

We can exist as part of another being's imagination - but our existence in relation to each other and the universe we think is real,is simply a dream.

At some point, either you will wake up (realize that you are not real and just a figment of some being's imagination) and then cease to exist by your own will -OR- the being dreaming us up will wake up and all of us will instantly cease to exist.

Then when this being decides to take another nap, a whole new temporary universe may be created, with bit's and pieces of the old one he was dreaming about the night before.

Or he might have that dream about going to school with no socks on.

Seriously though - the big BANG and Time as we know it may actually have begun with this being falling into REM sleep - the Big Bang is when the Dream began. And the Universe we know will end when this fool wakes up again.

Let's hope he's a deep sleeper :)

If existence didn't exist at all, we wouldn't be here, even if we were an imagination as there wouldn't be anything existing to imagine us up.

He explained it all wrong. Its not that nothing exists, its just that what we are in now is simply a fabrication of conciousness.

What does this have anything to do with God? He exists whether we do or not.

If we dont exist, how do you know that god exists, stop jumping to conclusions.

IF everything is just a lie, it doesn't matter what you call that lie. You can call it the NOW, pumpkin pie, the gamespot. What matters is that this lie that you describe is governed by something called time. In this NOW there is the illusion of time. So for all that matters time exists, despite--according to your theory--eveything is an illusion of the present.

Seriously though - the big BANG and Time as we know it may actually have begun with this being fakkling into REM sleep - the Big Bang is when the Dream began. And the Universe we know will end when this fool wakes up again.

Let's hope he's a deep sleeper :)

So basically your saying is that we all live in one big dream. I guess its possible. No better and now worse then any other theory I guess.

God was created by man, made up to get people to follow and take up certain ideals, also to help people fall in line with the rest of society.

God is a theory to describe where everything around us derived from, much like Evolution. Saying reality is not real is just a whole different subject. Let us say, now, that it is completely possible for god to exist in OUR PERCEPTION of reality I don't like how you first tried to disprove time, and now reality.

Time and God both have the same problem.

Neither has a concrete beginning and neither will have a concievable ending.

Which leads me back to the whole imagination theory - where we just haven't dreamed up a solid, logical answer to how everything began. So in the meantime, we just keep guessing and lying to ourselves to keep from going insane.
