Anyways france shouldn't have mocked anything about our religion or about our prophet and these muslims shouldn't have killed anyone or held hostages (and I just knew minutes ago that they held hostages as well) and they don't represent every other muslim of course.

It wasn't France, it was a specific publication in Charlie Hebdo. And why should your religion be exempt from mockery? Don't you believe in freedom of expression?

First off, France didn't mock anything. A group of satirists did.

Second, just because somebody mocks something that's important to you doesn't mean you go out and kill them for it.

Now that I think of it a better approach to tackle this situation would have been to organize peaceful protests against the people of these magazines to stop making such drawings because that would also fall under our freedom of expression so I think I get your point in a way.

It seems to me that your disagreement is that the journalist were allowed to do what they did. What else would you be protesting about? Like I said you can just not read the paper, they can only keep making it if people keep buying it.

See pictures were offensive i agree, they could've protested to ministry / consulates or hold a rally (many people'd have agreed or joined to the cause). And thats how protests are done. But killing for pictures? How insane was that ? And what good was done for that ? More dirty pictures incoming , people hating more on extremists and the offenders dead.

He has the right to protest. By telling him he shouldn't, you are essentially doing the same thing you're not wanting him to do. How about this? How about the paper ignore his protest? They have that right, too. If they decide to pull the comics, that's on THEM. No law forced that publication to withdraw their content; they merely listened to the protester, which also is their right.

At this point, I think the only way to respond to the violent extremists is through violence. They will not ever listen to reason or come to a diplomatic solution. We cannot stay in denial any longer.

Your religion is should be completely open to ridicule and criticism. If it cannot defend itself with words and debates against outside criticism, then it is doomed to disappear. Violence is not a solution to defending one's religion, especially when it propounds to be one of "peace".

Well how could it achieve anything? A company survives through sales, it doesn't matter how many people hate them as long as people keep buying their stuff. Everybody who reads the magazine already know it contains "offensive" pictures, so why would they stop buying it because a bunch of idiots said it was offensive? All that could come from it is that it would bring more attention to it and therefore increase sales, the exact opposite of what the protesters would want.

The people who wanted GTA 5 removed from K-Mart and Target in Australia is the most recent example I can think of. Did it really "achieve anything"? No. You can still buy the game at other places, but those self-righteous consumers can shop at their favorites stores a little more comfortably knowing they were listened to.

Who knows? If enough Islamic people protest the publication, then it might stop printing those comics. It may work. It may not. Let them try. So, if a group feels wrong by any other group, they definitely SHOULD speak out against it. That's how the world works. Voices need to be heard, on BOTH sides.
