I see what you did there.jpgI don't know about his lifestyle. I don't really care, either. Don't take it the wrong way.

I needed inspiration for unmasking personas and guises for this threadYou been watching scooby doo lately Sera

[QUOTE="BranKetra"]Some of these responses are pretty disgusting. Why hasn't this been dealt with?hrt_rulz01Yeah it's pretty sad isn't it... Some people will tell me to lighten up or "If you expect to see such a thread and no jokes about it, even here on GS, then the internet isn't the place for you", but after watching that video, I can't see how you can make a joke or not take it seriously. But anyway... Would you like me to place a call for the wahmbulance?
I'm assuming the meat doesn't taste as good since the animals seem to know they're about to die. Seriously though I expected this to be propaganda and the last minute pretty much explained the point of that video. It only enforces their belief through showing clips of animals being violented mistreated. It doesn't give out any proven statistics or any accurate data. Not all farms are like the ones featured in that video. There are ways of killing farm animals without abusing them, which provides better meat and dairy products because they are not only aware that they will be slaughtered, but their also not as abused. Overall, pure propaganda.
I honestly don't care about those smelly animals. They taste delcious, and that's all that matters. Also, I highly doubt many people even realize how expensive things would become if they treated the animals better.

I'm pretty sure a quick beheading with a single stroke wouldn't cost too much money.

I'm not talking about that obviously. I'm talking about the pain killers for surgeries, increased living space, better food, treatment for injuries, etc.
We're all so lucky to be Human since we're at the top of the food chain. Count your blessings, my fellow Humans.
I always get a kick out of videos like these. The people who find the clips for these must really go out of their way to find them. I was pretty much raised on a beef cattle farm. Castration (if it occurs) is done shortly after birth. Hot iron branding (around here anyway) is only used if the cow/bull/steer is getting sold to someone outside of the brand zone (which is required by the government). While feedlots are kinda common, they're not nearly as crowded as this video shows unless they're owned by some super company.ff7fan2You're missing the point. These places exist.
That all depends on who they do it to. If it's on someone who can stop them...What? Do you think the world is full of rainbows lollipops and justicefor all? Would you rather havewicked people be excercising their lust for cruelty and blood on humanity or something you're just going to execute and eat anyway?

I can't believe people are making jokes, over this video, whats so funny about animals being tortured? If you want to kill them for food, thats okay but this is a horrible way of death. Just man up and admit that. bcroger2
Damn. I just took a look at one of the videos in your signature. Do you think Old School Humans (Hunter Gatherers) skinned animals like that? That was gruesome.
I agree. I wish there was some way to stop this without going vegetarian all the way. But I'm at a loss as to what to do.I don't like seeing this kind of stuff, because I don't know what I can do about it.
How do we know, when we buy meat from places, how the animals were treated in the process?
How are you supposed to know?
It's all just so frustrating -.-tepni
The only correct answer in this thread. You know, the problem presented in this video is an indication that there are simply too many Humans. With so many people to feed (billions), Humanity is forced to resort to the mass and systematic killing of animals. As screwed up as the video is, as omnivorous creatures who like meat, this is inevitable. If there were fewer Humans who did things the old fashioned way (Hunting and gathering), I'm pretty sure the problem wouldn't be this severe and wouldn't be any worse than a predator taking out its prey the natural way. The only solution is to decrease the Human population. These mass and systematic killings are only one of the many problems caused by the needs of the billions of Humans that roam this Earth. I personally think that the best way of killing the animals is to quickly behead them with a single stroke; the rapid decrease in cranial blood pressure will assure that the loss of consciousness occurs quickly.

That's why farmers markets are you best friend. Build a relationship with the farmers near you so that way you know the diet of the animals, how and when they were killed and all that.
But that's not even the reason why I try not to buy anything but local proteins/produce; the animals at those slaughter houses have so many chemicals pumped into them that it's a wonder we're not all dead from eating their meat.
exactly not all plants treat animals like this in fact most of them treat their animals better so that they will taste betterI will admit that I eat meat myself and I'm sure I will never stop eating them but that doesn't meat that certian plants should treat them like this. But here is the thing, not all plants do this, there are many who kill them in a quick painless death and don't abuse them when they were alive so only these slaughter places like these in that video have nasty people. But like I said I'm still going to eat meat.

[QUOTE="BluRayHiDef"]The only correct answer in this thread.IF the best way to kill the animals is to just behead them with a single stroke, why couldn't the people in the video have just done that then instead of doing all that other crazy ass ****?You know, the problem presented in this video is an indication that there are simply too many Humans. footage like this is ahrd to get. most slaughter houses are humane by how they kill their animals. about as humane as mass killing gets, but its not even close to this bad normally. i used to work in a slaughter house where we butchered cows and it was nowhere near that bad. the death of the cows were instant and painless.
As long as nobody is going out of the way to intentionally torture and be cruel to an animal before killing it, I couldn't care less. Animal feelings are pretty low on my priority list...like, so low that they're not even on it.

buy meat from farms that practice sustainable growth and humane treatment of animals. In California we have, among many others, a great meat supplier called Niman Ranch.
It is a bit more pricey, but happy animals taste better, and die with a bit more dignity.
Also, in general, animals that are "free range" (i.e. grass-fed beef) are treated humanely as well.
I couldn't watch this all the way through... I... I... Well... I'm disgusted both mentally and physically... They are dealing with living beings... But, still... Not all farms and slaughteries are this brutal, and they really only show the worst of the worst... But some of those people shown in the video ought to be put in jail... SteingrimurI did watch the full video and I feel pretty much like this. Something must be done about this.
I really do not object to any of the techniques; they are, by design, intended to be painless or as pain-free as possible when done in accordance with established guidelines. What I do object to is the abuse, neglect, and out right torture of the animals at the hands of farm employees.
At my college I had to slaughter a cow and a pig; both were essentially put to sleep (an airhammer was used; quick and painless) and then their throats cut. No signs of pain were shown, and they died quietly and, as far as I knew, pain-free. I dont object to that, even if it does look barbaric on the surface, its the most efficient and practical method of doing so.
