actually i find the ones saying quite funny Hey Japan, Its not nice having something bad sneak up on you and kill you without there being anything you can do :) Sincerley, THE WHALESthese pearl harbour comments just make me hate americans more and more.

Wow, just seen footage of that huge explosion at one of the Fukushima nuclear plants. There's a lot of confusion over what's happening, but the 10km evacuation zone could be extended to 60km. We're talking hundreds of thousands of people potentially needing evacuation if it leaks more radiation.cjekits funny cause we just had a thread about wether or not nuclear energy is good, but yeh thats terrible i do hope we dont have another Chernobyl

There's now been a hydrogen explosion at a nuclear plant! I never expected this could happen with all the safety technology.CaptainCrazy
What? Another explosion? I saw the explosion oft he nulcear plant in the news ar 10:30 morning(Greek time) When happend another explosion??
I mentioned this in another thread, but the quake moved Japan 8 feet and tilted the axis of the Earth by 4 inches. That's an insane amount of power.psychobrew
I read some news sites of my country (Greece) the say that now day will be smaller... is this true? Will this affect all countries or only Japan?
I seen reports that say it been upgraded to a 9.1 magnitude earthquake, and saw they had 9000+ missing in one prefecture.
its called american logic. like saying a country deserves to have a natural disaster because of something their ancestors did a long time ago, which was resolved a long time ago, which america already got their 'revenge' for a long time ago.
Zorgax
Yes because only Americans make comments like that. But go ahead and hate a nation of 300 million because some random trolls on the internet (who may/may not be American) makes comments like that, it is real logical.

trolls? these are actual stupid people brah. why dont you go on to the old openbook and click a few profiles? i think you'll be quite surprised at how many live in america (hint, all of them).
also, if these people want to judge the whole of japan, i will judge the whole of them.

Oh, no I think its the same one you guys were talking about but i was describing what type of explosion it was, so it's not actually nuclear but still scary.I seen reports that say it been upgraded to a 9.1 magnitude earthquake, and saw they had 9000+ missing in one prefecture.

Don't feed the troll.BTW there:s been an explosion at a Japanese nuclear plant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eofr1Js6nLg&feature=feedumarkop2003
Yeah, they are being quite sketchy about what is going down over there. There have been reports that this was caused by hydrogen from the cooling systems exploding and even reports that it was merely the walls from the reactor housing that collapsed. I'm sorry, but that is no wall collapse. I hate to say it, but it is looking like another Chernobyl or worse may be on the way, on top of the quake and tsunami damage. Hell, other plants in the area are in crisis mode as well and they are still have huge aftershocks. Not looking good, folks.
yeah, the japan tsunami was pretty big...I heard it also reached hawaii but they were like 1.80 waves (which I could say, a regular wave)Holy crap... its going to create a massive tsunami.

the day got shortened, but I dont know if it was just for that day or if its still happeningjust watched a video of the tsunami hitting at ground level. so much more destructive looking than watching from a helicopter.
Horrible news indeed
My thoughts goes out to all Japanese or anyone here who's affected by that quake.
Watching those video was kind of scary, seeing the water moving across land and at one point towards a stree with moving vehicals still on them before the camera cutting off.
Hope the entire nation would be able to recover as quickly as possible in the given circumstances.
I did some research and apparently that photo is just from when Bandai dismantled it to move it out of Tokyo. Oh thank goodness, would be so awesome if it was fully functional and able to aid in the cleanup haha[QUOTE="Lief_Ericson"]
I saw on twitter the Gundam statue broke in half T_T

I'm not a scientist, but the quake shifted the possition of the entire planet so it's possible. I think the shift might afect weather as well.
If anyone is interested, you can view live Japanese reporting on the disaster

Obviously the majority of gamespot isn't Japanese speaking, but there is a lot of imagery that's been exclusive to the Japanese stations.
Yeah I just saw that too. Is this really happening :|

I'm afraid so. This stuff will blow wherever the wind blows. Meaning, west and across the Pacific and possibly even in the US to some degree. I can't and don't even want to imagine the possibilities.
God I hope the problem at the nuclear facility gets solved quickly.LonelynightYour sig is mesmerizing.
God I hope the problem at the nuclear facility gets solved quickly.LonelynightIndeed that is another ticking time-bomb right there unless Japan gets it fixed. This earthquake/tsunami just proved once again just how fragile we as humans really are against nature.

if true, wouldnt that make all of Japan a no mans land? One Japanese government official is now saying the death toll is likely over 10,000 in one state alone. I hope that estimate is like the eearly 9/11 estimates.
A mate of mine sent me a link to this video on the BBC website. Last time I was shocked watching the news was the 2008 tsunami.
