[QUOTE="KrunkMastaX"]I knew Obama would win all along. First black president in the white house. Now that the first sign of the apocalypse has manifested. Whats next?lolzakkroI might get a girlfriend. O_o :P Wait... :(

Well, Obama will presumably still be president when the "dreaded" 2012 comes around. :P[QUOTE="KrunkMastaX"]I knew Obama would win all along. First black president in the white house. Now that the first sign of the apocalypse has manifested. Whats next?lolLink256
But only for barely another year.:o
[QUOTE="harden007"][QUOTE="gamingqueen"][QUOTE="Guybrush_3"][QUOTE="gamingqueen"][QUOTE="harden007"]Why is everyone so caught up in this election being historic?
If you voted for Obama simply because he was an historic candidate, you may have voted for the wrong reasons.

Becuase he's the first black president to enter the white house. I think it is historical.
He doesnt even fall under the traditional american definition of black. He is half white and his dad is from africa. He is not a Descendant of an african brought over here hundreds of years ago.
HAH! No! In American sociology which I took, it says, even if a person has one black ancestor it makes him a black person. So according to the traditional American definition of black, I am black too because my father's granma is black.
Well, if you believe that humanity evolved out of Africa, then we are all black, in which case every president has been black and this election is not historic at all.
Humanity evolved from three main races, Caucasian, black and Asian.
Into, you mean...I still remember him from "the Internet is a series of tubes"So hey you guys, remember Ted Stevens?
The Alaskan Senate candidate convicted of seven felonies last week?
He's currently leading by 2% with 81% of the vote counted.

Yup, that's the guy. And Don Young is looking like he'll be re-elected too.
I don't mean to offend any Alaskans, but... are you guys trying to paint yourselves as the biggest political joke in the union?
I'll go ahead and actually answer the question posed (what do you McCain supporters think now that Obama won). Well me, my whole family and most of my friends all voted McCain, and Arizona was carried by McCain but not by much.
Personally I think Obama is wrong on most of the issues I care about (Iraq, the surge, abortion, the Supreme Court, etc.) and I think he is woefully unprepared for the position as President (as the Governator pointed out, McCain was a Prisoner of War longer than Obama has been Senator) and I think that Obama could potentially do serious damage, particularly in the Iraqi area and possibly in the economy (there was one report in which the gathered economists said Obama's plan would "destroy" the American economy) and the list goes on and on.
But now that Obama has won, I can say that I am excited to see what the future holds and how Obama holds up in office. I am also extermely happy to see an African American win the presidency, even though I don't approve of him and his policies.
But I am so sick of the hatred and partisinship towards Bush and thus I am not about to stoop so low and hate on Obama. I like Obama as a person and I think he is sincere in his beliefs and has good intentions, he also SAYS he will be bi-paritsm, but of course it's all talk, he has nothing to back up most of his statements. John McCain was truly bi-partisn, but the American people choose "change"/"first black President" over action, results and experience. But history shows that 8 years of one party spells doom when they try to run again, so it was an uphill climb and I'm not surprised that Obama won.
So I will pray for Obama and for this nation and hope that things work out better than opponents of Obama think it will. And that Obama really will listen to the other side like he says he will.

That was a good post man. Bravo.
Good, i'm not American but I was preferring Obama won, simply to keep McCain's extreme liability (Palin) away from the White House.ithilgore2006
i think most of the world preferred obama to win...a more sincere and appropriate government looks more appealing to the ROTW
Obama wins ... fallout 3 turns into reality 2012 ...TheFlameProof
still, at least us in the uk will respect you for 4 years...
Yay President Barack Obama!
Was there ever any doubt?
Anyone who supported McCain through all his campaign bashing and avoiding the issues are suckers.
Stephen Colbert can suck it!
I'm extremely happy with last night's election results... This country for the most part is truly ready for some change and new direction. As McCain said in his defeat speech, "the American people have spoken and they have spoken clearly".
Though I still feel like my vote was for nothing, considering my state went McCain by over 100,000 votes last night...
Obama won? America lost. Hello South Africa.Ultimate-PlayaI hear Obama attracts bears. YOU HEAR THAT AMERICA!? Bears.. Now the whole country is at RISK.

I'm happy Obama was elected. Our country needed change and he was the best candidate to lead us into the future.
Barack, don't **** this up.
Anyone know what the popular vote is, or where I would go to see that?Jandurin
On msnbc.com, it's 62million to 55million. 52% to 46%.
[QUOTE="MoonMarvel"][QUOTE="XaosII"]I cant wait to hear Bill O'Reily and Sean Hannity.
Ah, their tears will be like ambrosia to me!

Too bad for you Bill has always been respectful to Obama.
People who hate on Bill have never actually watched his show. They go to YouTube for that.
Christmas Under Siege.
Bill: "This year Christmas has been attacked by Obama!!!"
You heard it here first folks.
Thanks. Well, that's a lot of percents.On msnbc.com, it's 62million to 55million. 52% to 46%.

I voted for Obama/Biden yesterday and was very happy to see that was the winning result. Long live Democracy :).cousin_eddy
Since when presidential elections were democratic? With a locked in two party system with very little choices is NOT democratic.

Sure.
In your warped opinion, maybe.

Reality's a ****, isn't it? Your side has caused more than enough damage in the past few decades. When a political or economic philosophy doesn't work over and over again, one should be smart enough to stop using it. So whatever's not good for you is good for your country.

This post needs more ain't.I just wanted to add one thing to this discussion. This was a LANDSLIDE. Not even close. I think its kids or something that don't understand that 52-53% of the popular vote is HUGE. Once they finish North Carolina & Indiana Obama could have over 350 electorial votes. That is a crushing huge victory. And it is the American people who won, because we stood up and took charge of our country again.
P.S. To the person that asked Obama has over a 7 million vote lead in the popular vote and also cnn.com or yahoo.com or msn.com etc etc for election results.
