[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"][QUOTE="THE_DRUGGIE"]

Speaking of all that, how does everyone feel about the great Packer state of Wisconsin being the first state to elect an openly homosexual senator?

THE_DRUGGIE

Thrilled. It's a historic moment. My sister just got engaged to a guy from Wisconsin and he's very proud of his state this morning.

Yay!

I did get to meet Tammy Baldwin at a little gathering at UWGB and talked with her for a bit about the election. She's a good person.

Feels good to have my state not represented by Thompson.

I bet it does.

Speaking of Senate races, the Montana one has just been called for the Democrat Jon Tester. Looks like I whiffed on that prediction. Happily so.

Do tell exactly what Obama has done to the economy that is so bad that it warrants him being labelled the "worst president ever".

Barbariser

Failed Obamacare, failed stimulus bills, increasing the debt by 6 trillion, etc... He's a failed president.

By what measure has the stimulus bill been a failure? The purpose of stimulus bills is to halt and reverse employment and gross domestic product decline, which is exactly what happened when it was implemented. Also, you think that debt is bad, then you criticize him for implementing a deficit-reducing program? :?

He gave money to the banks and auto industry which in turn further bankrupted themselves.

Maybe he can fix his mistakes in the next 4 years. Be optimistic. Pessimism is a major issue with our country,

Nah... He'll likely increase the debt 10 Trillion and unemployment will skyrocket.

Has unemplyment skyrocketed since he took office?

And after the legislation to help the economy kicked in, jobs were created and the unemplyment percentage lowered to below 8%.

He gave money to the banks and auto industry which in turn further bankrupted themselves.

Both bailouts were launched by President Bush (in other word's, not part of the ARRA), and Obama's decision to continue providing auto-industry bailouts led to the U.S. auto industry being alive today and producing more cars than any other company in the world. In other words, this has nothing to do with the stimulus package and even if it did it wouldn't prove that it was a failure. I'm sure that you will agree, being the economy-loving person that you are, that having an American auto industry that is not dead is good for the American economy.

Says it all [quote="Timothy Egan"] In the last days of the election, Peggy Noonan had a feel that things were moving Mitt Romneys way. George Will was more cerebral: his brain told him it would be Romney in a rout. And Michael Barone, who used to have a good divining rod to go along with an encyclopedic knowledge for all numbers political, also predicted a Romney landslide. What they had in common, aside from putting up a brick Tuesday that completely missed the electoral net, was a last-hurrah push for the old-fashioned prediction by gut. This was the year the meta-analyst shoved aside the old-school pundit. Simon Jackman of Stanford, Sam Wang at the Princeton Election Consortium and, of course, our colleague Nate Silver, all perfected math-based, non-subjective models that produced predictions that closely matched the outcomes. People who are surprised by the election and Sarah Palin looked like she was close to tears as the obvious became obvious even to those who live in the Fox bubble were probably listening to people who are paid to fantasize. Karl Rove is Exhibit A. Until the very end, he confidently predicted a Romney victory, though he seemed to give himself some weasel room in bringing up Hurricane Sandy at the end as an excuse. But Rove, who collected millions from deep pockets for his independent expenditure groups, had to predict a Romney victory. Otherwise, why continue to give him money? These donors would have been better off reading the In-trade prediction model based on real money bet on the outcome. They put the odds of an Obama win at 72 percent on election eve. Newt Gingrich, who has a preternatural ability to slide out of whatever he said in the past, said without blinking or blushing that Romney would win the popular vote by six percentage points and rack up more than 300 electoral votes. I base that on just years and years of experience, he said. And its taught him what? And we have to mention Dick Morris, who has been assuring Fox listeners for months that Obama was a one-term president. He said Romney would end the night with 325 electoral votes, a number about equal to Glenn Becks stellar forecast. It will be the biggest surprise in recent American political history, Morris said. The surprise is that people like Morris Jon Stewart called him The King of Wrong Mountain continue to find work. Little wonder then, that so many people turned to the math-based prediction models this year. Moneyball has finally beaten down the old scouts. Not romantic, by any stretch, but more reliable. Now, if only the Republican Party would follow suit, on the major issues of the day, into the reality-based community.

Rather hard to argue against the stimulus when all the analysts say that it helped, also Obamacare hasn't been fully enacted yet so it's too soon to say whether or not it's failed.

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"][QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"] You don't think a part of the Republican problem right now is nominating extremists that cost themselves winnable Senate races? Interesting. I can run down the list of very winnable Senate races that they've lost over the last two cycles by trotting out extremists like Akin and Mourdock and Angle and O'Donnell.nocoolnamejim
You see, that is a better avenue to address a situation. Not your previous dumbf*ckistan governship post.

My previous post made the exact same point. If you have to ask WHICH Rape Guy Republican lost last night, that's a clear indication that you've got a problem with who you are nominating to carry your standard. And more to the point, you have a problem with your NATIONAL PARTY PLATFORM. Guys like Mourdock and Akin said bad stuff publicly, but, the key point is that they didn't say anything different from what's in the official Republican Platform on the issue! In other words, Republicans lost last night not because of some liberal media conspiracy. They lost because they've become an extremist party that is untethered from reality. Folks like The Apostle, Hokie, DevilMightCry, etc. were/are shocked that Romney lost because they have been relying on information sources not telling the truth. 538, Real Clear Politics, the betting markets, EVERYONE who was looking at the real data knew well in advance of last night that Obama was going to cruise to victory.

Your previous post was a silly and vulgar attempt to convey humor at a distasteful situation. Covering sh*t with more sh*t just makes everything sh*ttier.

There are a lot of things that conservatives haven't seen coming lately. Last night for example.

[QUOTE="nocoolnamejim"][QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]You see, that is a better avenue to address a situation. Not your previous dumbf*ckistan governship post.Stevo_the_gamer

Covering sh*t with more sh*t just makes everything sh*ttier.

are you serious? I saw that post and there was no attempt at humor that I could see.

I don't understand how people could say stuff like this... It's like they are completely ignorant to everything that's happening.

I never saw a compelling argument for "The USA is in worse shape in 2012."

Only arguments I really saw was more people given up on work or underemployed, more people on food stamps, and more debt. The latter two really hold any form of (small) weight since the employment rate did go down some--albeit only dismally. Economy still sucks though.
