The United States vs The United Kingdom

Saying United States is the greatest country in the world is kind of a biased statement. Believing greatest country in the world without maintaining it have led to aging infrastructure and lowest education rating among industrial nations. United States does have the strongest military in the world, there havent been a major war in 70 years. Because of worldwide stability, economies in major countries have grown. UK and other countries are riding along on the back of the US military, giving them the opportunity to pay for social systems. It would be fair if United States end up charging EU and UK $50 billion a year to help maintain the Navy to protect the world's waterways.Jd1680a

With a tax increase to 40-50% (the average is 12-25% now), how does someone making minimum wage survive? If they have enough money to pay for at least an apartment, how are their bills paid (electricity at least) and how do they buy food? They can't. It would mean giving them food stamps (paid for by taxes) or their housing would have to be subsidized (Section 8 housing, again paid for by taxes) when with a lower tax rate, they can manage to do both as long as they manage their money properly.

As a middle-class student I would pick the U.K. Were I an upper-class wealthy individual I might prefer to live in the U.S.

Fukushima. I forget which one, but one (or two? idk) of the reactors melted down and has so much radiation they can't even send robots in to attempt to fix it. They can't figure out how to cool it down.

America's colleges aren't that privatized.

Anyways, I prefer the United States because I already live here, I can own a gun, and am proud to be an American. But the UK is also good though I wouldn't say they're non-interventionists.

Read up on the Israel-Palestine conflict, it started because the British promised the land to both Palestine and Israel simultaneously. Also there's the opium wars where the British smuggled huge ammounts of opium into China illegally or the fact that it controlled 15th of the world population and 1/4 of the land surface at its peak.

From what I understand all those problems are in America as well. And their police have guns, which makes them much worse.

Don't like anything cajun, Tex Mex, or some good BBQing? One positive thing about the south, I do like their food.
