I think too much emphasis is put on the maintenance of a culture in a designated location. People should feel free to maintain their culture if they wish, but respect the cultures of others as well. Just my two cents.mattbbplYes but you see when Muslims innigrate into these countries, they demand Shariah law (look it up). They don't care about the original culture unfortunately.

You have to say when (most) Muslims.. then it's not racist. My tip for avoiding the racist criers : D

Its actually better not to generalise at all.

They don't care about the original culture unfortunately. I'm aware of Shariah law, and their cries for it should be ignored. Government law should not be based on any religion, and any Muslims moving to a region need to deal with the fact they won't be dictating the law before they move there.Just my two cents.ObeseBanana
In short, they need to respect the culture of those around them as well. If they can't do that, then they can kindly leave somewhere else that suits them better.

It's not generalising when you say most. It's factual. I have respect for individuals.. that's enough.Does it matter? This is like asking how I feel about Christian people who live in Beverly Hills.flash_driveBut Christianity formed the culture of Europe.

So did Islam, unless Turkey isn't a part of Europe anymore. Turkey belongs in my sunday dinner and nowhere else.

Its not like they will bust in your house, and force you to read the Qur'an.

Technically Muslim culture came first, then that whole "Battle of Tours" thing happened.

I don't think that will ever happen, and I am a little offended, because you lack tolerance of other religions. America is built up from many religions, and over here most of us can tolerate each others religion. I am sad to hear that you aren't a fan of change.

No; in fact, that happened in Tours and Poitiers, which are in the north.

SolidSnake35Technically Muslim culture came first, then that whole "Battle of Tours" thing happened. I could understand Muslim culture being replaced. I mean, many Muslims want out of their own countries, though it confuses me when they want to bring their culture with them. 99% of Turkey is Muslim; I don't see anyone complaining about them. . .

I don't know of many Turkish people moving here. If Turkey is a leading example of Muslim culture, though, perhaps the Muslims coming to Britain should go there instead.
Haha ok I meant west Europe sorry.ObeseBananaWell they've already influenced it. There were a good number of Muslim scholars in the medieval period also they returned the Greek and Roman knowledge after the dark ages.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_France I personally think that the culture is in danger. Already 10% of France is Muslim. The Netherlands and Britain are following the same trend thanks to "multi-culturalism". It's a shame because I wanted to start a new life in France (I'm a Quebecer). What do you guys think about this issue?ObeseBanana
I'm not sure if France has proportional representation and if it doesn't then they have even less representation. Even so, there is no way that that 10% wants sharia laws, most likely a vocal minority. Just ignore them, I don't see any problem.

I thought when one traveled or moved to another country,, packing your culture in your bags is mandatory. I dont' see why we should then except Muslims to be any different, as all groups of people do this. EVEN when they come to the United States they willingly segregate themselves into culturally specific neighborhoods.

Why move if you like your own culture enough to bring it with you?

Because your culture isn't quite the same as your country.[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="SolidSnake35"] There are many less sucking countries between there and here.SolidSnake35Cool. They don't have to go to any of them. Because they know those countries wouldn't put up with them.
Maybe because they like country a instead of country b because they have more Muslims there.
