I was a Christian up until I realised that the bible is one of the most horrible books in existence. I then stopped believing in god completely when I got a bit older and maturer.

If there is some form of after-life, doesnt that mean there should a greater power out there? and if this greater-power is God...then making the universe in 7 days shoudnt be something big for a God..

If it's not something big then why should we worship him? I mean if he didn't put much effort into the earth then why does he expect so much out of it?

I can't give you a good reason why you shouldn't believe in a God, but I don't believe in any of them.

I prefer to relate my beliefs to evidence-based criteria and can abide uncertainty.

I don't believe in any organized religion's depiction of a god. Organized religion is one of the most sickening things I have ever come across. It allows people to spew hate and discrimination and inequality and sidestep completely unlawful behavior's legal ramifications. That, and it has actually held us back as a society in first-world nations. The USA STILL doesn't universally recognize same-sex marriage, and why? Religion is at the core. I'm not saying don't believe in your own higher power or 'god', just don't follow organized religion. There's nothing good about that.

Well, I don't not believe, but I have a hard time believing alot of what is said in the Bible happened. Seriosuly did Noah really put all those species of animal on his boat? Did they all re-populate with just one of the same species, what about disease, inferitilty etc? How can someone live inside a whale or fish for days? How are we supposed to believe people were living for hundreds and hundres of years?

And a question with the Christian belief and religion specifically, not the Bible, why does God allow the devil to continue to exist? From my understanding isn't he pretty much all powerful?

If you ask me I think theres someone or something out there wheter its in our dimension/universe ect thats works the gears. Look at the level of intelligence between a human and a monkey and our DNA is only something like 2-3 percent different. What if theres a some form of life out there thats 1% to whatever more smarter than humans who went along and built a heaven, a hell, designed a human race but all that seems absolutely impossible to us.

Not all scientists are atheists. Religious scientists talking about their personal faith does not constitute real evidence for God. Their personal beliefs are not bound by the same impartial rigour that they have to use for their scientific jobs.

One thing that makes me believe in the Bible, is its ability to predict the future... Bible talks about -the world being circle...when at those times clearly everyone thought it was flat... - about RIFD chips ( mark of the devil) - talks about one-world government...( a little more theory based ) and more... and there are historical facts that back up events that have occurred in the Bible ( the lake separating, and etc )

I think you read into the bible what you want to hear. There are no explicit predictions as you suggest there are in my reading of the Christian bible. Those are your interpretations that try to fit biblical doctrine into today's world. Its the same as claims made for the Koran, where nebulous statements are also twisted to fit with modern thinking.

I don't believe any of that crap that organized religions spout out. If a God exists (something I am not sure about right now, so I guess I am more agnostic ATM than atheist), I am 100% sure he does not exist in any form that an organized religion claims. I'd expect that "God", if it exists, is more of a force than a human-like, all-powering being.

It's a myth that all ancient people thought the Earth was flat. The Ancient Greeks found out the Earth was spherical using maths. After that, most intellectuals knew this as well.

I don't have any reason to.

I've been told in every other aspect of life to figure out why something works, how something happened, and question things that facts don't support. Then for religion I'm supposed to just have faith that a god is real even though there's not any scientific evidence supporting it? I can't do that.

What you said made perfect sense... But the question till rises...The way the Bible predicts and talks about the "mark of the devil" relates to the RFID chip word by word... If you havent yet...I highly suggest you reading the part of the Bible in which it talks about the end of the world and etc.

The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully. ? Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

Its called free-will If there was 100% evidence showing there is God...then everyone would be a believer...then what would be the point of it?RationalAtheist

How would "the point of it" change if there was 100% evidence for God? Is it supposed to be some sort of game?

Because "God" wants us to believe in him from love... Theres a difference in believing a friend has a 25 k/d ratio in Call of Duty and a difference in seeing his ratio...then believing in it. One requires trust...the other requires simply being rational
