These arguments over the multiplayer are insane. No one is buying the freaking game for multiplayer, the SP is the only reason this game sells. The multiplayer is just a add on, last ditch attempt to get it to sell well on consoles.Nick3306This isn't true. I was looking forward to the game for the multiplayer and singleplayer equally.
It has dedicated servers.....[QUOTE="Nick3306"][QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"] I don't think so. Why would it say NAT TYPE: Moderate? Why would the game even tell me this if there wasn't matchmaking?rhazzy
How do you know it has dedicated servers?Just because Crytek said it has?Crytek also said this game is not going to be a console port...and SURPRISE BUTTLOVE...it is!!!
I dont think is the same p2p like in MW2...but rhater first conected to a server that has 0/12 players becomes the host...anyways you will be able to play the same server everyday but with different hosts/IP's everytime...the name of the server dosent change only the ip/host...that is nowhere near a dedicated server definition...but hey its better than mw2...
I wonder if you could be able in the full Crysis 2,to connect directly to a server using only the IP of that server...if not...is p2p enchanced :P
what makes it a console port? Looks like a multiplat game to me, which isnt a pc exclusive.[QUOTE="Nick3306"]These arguments over the multiplayer are insane. I agree. I look forward to both aspects of the game. My enjoyment of the muli-player makes me excited for the SP.

I can actually wholeheartedly agree with this, I think the hate is just a little bit too high. I can see where much of it is coming from, but a lot of it is ridiculous. I also see the CoD resemblance but it still has enough Crysis added to it to make it feel a little fresh. Also I believe Baranga was making the same complaints I was earlier about nanosuit 2.0 does feel inferior to the first in that to do ANYTHING costs valuable energy. At first this really bugged me but with more playing I see some balance...It almost feels like you have to forget Crysis 1 completely and just take this for what it is, managing energy isnt that bad, moving regular for about 2-3 seconds and you are back at full.
Lastly, I had heard that this was mainly always going to be 6v6, but you saying it'll have more player count will have me partially excited all over again! I think this would be a lot more impressive on a bigger scale.....if so they really should've done a 6v6 and a larger XvX on the demo for impressions.
How do you guys think this is "fresh"? The only thing that differentiates Crysis 2's MP from COD's MP is the two suit powers which at this point honestly feel like gimmicks, especially when you consider that the only useful one is invisibility. Everything else is IDENTICAL to COD. Three killstreaks that you get to use at 3, 5, and 7 kills. Four preset classes plus custom classes for which you can pick three perks, plus weapons. Tiny maps with tiny teamsizes. No vehicles. Oh yeah, and it's all set in a city (LOL URBAN WARFARE). They should have just called this game "Crysis of Duty: Urban Warfare" since that's obviously what they were going for. Also the graphics are hardly among the best looking on PC. Metro 2033, Crysis 1, Crysis Warhead, and Mirror's Edge all have vastly superior graphics, just to name a few games. And then we've got upcoming games like Battlefield 3 and Rage which already look better.I was going to legitimately respond to you, but you just said that Mirrors Edge looks better than Crysis 2. Get your eyes checked.
The two suit powers are not made to be left on, they are to be activated as needed. If you are moving in to a large gun fight, throw your shields up. If you see an enemy and want to stealthy take him out go cloak. Yes the killstreaks are a copy of cod. Perks have become a standard for FPS games and if they were not in the game, people would whine. The perks are very different from the CoD ones though. no vehicles because they decided to focus on infantry combat. Metro 2033 looks better in some areas, but character models, lighting, and first person gun detail are supurior in Crysis 2. Metro 2033 has some interesting enviroments, but it also doesnt run half as well as Crysis 2. Crysis 1 is the only game I can think of that looks legitimately better than Crysis 2.
Also as for the gunplay feeling like CoD, it doesnt. It feels more like BC2 than CoD because it is more weighty than CoD.
It's widely agreed upon the ME has some of the best graphics of any game after Crysis and Metro 2033. Crysis 2 is a major step down from Crysis. It really doesn't look any better than any other console port we've seen in the past few years. This sucks. I STILL can't play, I keep getting invalid nickname, and I've tried multiple accounts. The demo expires March 13th, and after this fiasco, I hope they extend it.

ME is an incredible looking game, but it has static environments and prebaked lightning. It's photorealistic most of the time, but since it doesn't achieve that with real time special effects people don't seem to care.
Crysis 2 is much slower than COD. It's ruined by the nanosuit, not by the multiplatform design.

Mirror's Edge on the PC is one of the most visually impressive games out on the market, after Crysis, Crysis: Warhead, ArmA 2, and Metro 2033.
WHY...WHY is it that I have TWO accounts that will not work, but my buddy can hop onto my computer and log in with his with no problem? So lame.

DX11 to be patched after release(use google to translate it).
Wanted it on day one.:P

So the game isn't even go to ship with dx11, thats just says lazy console port.
Crysis 2 is now unistalled from my pc. The demo is just crap.
It will probley end up with the same fate of moh, its not horrible, but its not good.
More and more, I'm beginning to think developers think they can get away with just "patching" video games after launch day. Oh wait, they CAN get away with it because people will still buy it. I'm even thinking about withdrawaling my pre-order now. Maybe even get it used off of eBay. Just like they can pull a fast one on us, we can do the same. And don't cry when people are pirating your game even though I don't condone piracy... you know it's coming. I'm disappointed in Crytek.[QUOTE="James161324"][QUOTE="mitu123"]

So much for the devs saying that they were going to give PC a good version? I finally managed to create an account and played a bit this morning. Looks good, MP is fun but still feels a bit "off" to me.... I don't want to say "consolized" but it would be the correct word.... Still, I'm in it mostly for the SP Campaign. There are other PC games that get patched with DX11 later, but considering how long this game took to make as it's planned to be a trilogy, I don't get why it needs to be patched, should be there from the start.
Still glad we can have it someday, but I'm confused.

Anyway, impressions.
The multi-player is not at all better than the alternatives.
I hate the new nano-suit. I hate how it says "press start to continue".
I like the graphics. It's not a big jump (more like a step back), but it looks better than most games and it runs good.
Hate how the graphics are locked on three settings without the ability to set them how you wish ( this was confirmed in System Wars to be in the full game as well)
Don't really know how to feel.
So there is no DX11 features, what about DX10, anyone know?

Also i may have not played the demo but i bet 2 things: 1. There is no recoil. 2. There is no dx10-dx11 and the game runs on medium or it does not let you mess with graphics options. Its just a slider like dragon age 2. Right?dakan451. That is true sadly, couldn't believe how fast I reloaded my guns.D=
2. It only allows gamer, advanced and hardcore settings, no way to adjust the graphics options. The full game will have DX11 after the game comes out.
I download the demo, damn its big. Start the demo, oh look the screen is moving just like you move the console thumbsticks. Oops, i need an incrysis account. Too bad i never thought i would need one...oh wait, i can use my gamesy one...nope it does not work, invalid username. What the? Making a new one, user agreement comes up, ok that means it worked, initializing playlists and....cant connect check you cable etc etc. Go to the forums to seek support. Oops, incrysis.com is down, they will be back in 3-4 hours. Support=FAIL Demo experiance= none. I just got trolloled to download 1.6gb :D Now what? Also i may have not played the demo but i bet 2 things: 1. There is no recoil.2. There is no dx10-dx11 and the game runs on medium or it does not let you mess with graphics options. There is a bit, but ala Call of Duty recoil
Lets you mess with graphics, but not in a slider fashion....just 3 types. Something like gamer, hardcore whatever...
Patching dx11? May i say thats just pathetic? Anyway i cant really say that i did not see all those tinngs coming. I DID but no one took me seriously, they were all like "no crytek is god, they wont crap on us" Also i may have not actually played the demo, but i was able to watch the tutorial, how do you like pressing q and e to switch suit powers and not having lean  ?
It seems people got confused. Thats what i mean that they are locked, there is a slider just like dragon age 2, as i have said, you cant change them as you want.
You have zero control over any graphics option, you can't even choose AA, at least Dragon Age 2 allows that and AF.It seems people got confused. Thats what i mean that they are locked, there is a slider just like dragon age 2, as i have said, you cant change them as you want.

I really hope Crytek is taking note of this **** storm and ****ing their pants at all the mistakes they've made.
You have zero control over any graphics option, you can't even choose AA, at least Dragon Age 2 allows that and AF. Wait.... no aa? Whats next? No resoultuon? Run games at 720p? I mean some of us will choose the extremely taxing "hardcore" believing that we miss some graphical quality settings by choosing the lesser quality mode but in reallity we would only loose AA and such. I really dont get this, some people want to disable some stuff that they dont care so they can save perfomance. Now we cant do that either? lol and the funny thing is i was arguing wherver they will actually use dx10/dx11 right this time around and not have it there for the game looking the same just like in warhead, in which the very high was unlocked from the previous game in which it was locked for vista but could be unlocked with cfg/ini tweak :P Well this time around they actually gone a level down, the game will be launched with dx9 only   ..and i was arguing about using dx10 properly this time around [QUOTE="dakan45"]

No, it must be the internet connection.
I still cannot login, nor create an account. And the MyCrysis site is back up - yet it certainly isn't 'better than ever'.-CheeseEater-

In some places it looks photorealistic, and this is probably because there's not much going on in the environments so they can afford to put more into the graphics. Mirrors Edge is very impressive (and it had great gameplay too, I really enjoyed it). The only place Mirrors Edge fell apart was the lack of a good story.
Well after downloading the SLI patch from EVGA I seem to be getting an average of 110-115 on skyline. millerlight89Can you run Crysis that well. I wish this stayed exclusive. When Crysis came out, it was mind blowing. Now not even the environments are destructible. Such a disappointment . Wish it used up some of that hardware. Ah well, there's Shogun II and Battlefield 3.

Uhm. Who the hell are you quoting?
I believe Crysis only stated that the PC version would look better than consoles, and it does. They also stated that this will be a pc game, which it is. If feels fine.
Those who are yelling out "consolized" dont understand that its really just some of the textures + FOV that are changed for consoles. The game feels good on the PC and i couldnt picture playing it with a controller.
Taken from the CryMod forum, user Osok.
"This is how the suit needs to be:
Default mode needs to be armor. You can sprint like Crysis sprint. You can not strength jump. You dont walk slower. When in armor mode any damage taken comes straight from your energy until your energy reads zero. When it reads zero, damage comes out of your health. This will balance the time to kill issues.
Pressing Q puts you into power mode. You need to sprint nearly double the speed. You can strength jump. A strength jump needs to take 33 energy. You should be allowed 3 strength jumps in a full energy bar. Superjumpscale needs to be 3.2 in nanosuit.xml A small amount of strafing mid-air needs to be brought back. Not like in Crysis or Crysis Wars but a hint needs to be there so we can shift direction in the air. That alone made Crysis fun. You didnt feel glued to the ground like other FPS games. You have movement and could actually be individual by your playstyIe The nanosuit gave us that.
Pressing E puts you into cloak mode. You need to make it slightly more visible and bring the sound of it back. Not quite as loud as wars, but it needs to come back."
Yes! Why isn't it like this Crytek?
Protip Crytek: If you don't know how to balance crap. DONT PUT IT IN.
After playing it for a few, it seems to go down the CoD logic.
The assault rifles have Sniper rifle range.
I get flashbanged when I shoot someone while in cloak but level 4-9's don't?

I don't really remember who I'm quoting. But there were rumours going around that Crytek doesn't want to show PC footage, because it would make console gamers jealous. Misleading marketing. I think it was a Crytek interview. And the whole, "It will be a true PC game" is an actual quote.http://www.fpsadmin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22072
It's not.
