Do all the rival battles play the same?Does Silver look more out of place in Tropical Resort then Darth Vader in SoulCalibur? Also,do cutscenes have voice acting?Never bothered to check..
and it really does come with Club Nintendo points, correct?
EDIT:Forgot to ask this:
during the credits, when has parts of different Sonic games that are represented in Generations, are they in 3D?Like the part where it shows the original version of Emerald Coast.
Cloud-number-number, how many cut-scenes are in the 3DS one? Did they skimp on 'em? *Thinks Sonic Colors DS*ShadowofSonicThey play out a lot like the ones in Rush. Scripted dialogue with vocal phrases thrown in. On a next-gen handheld that can full-well handle full cutscenes as Super Street Fighter IV 3D has shown, it's really underwhelming how lacklustre the cuscenes of Generations 3DS are.
Hey, Cloud, I have to ask, how are the boss fights in the 3DS version? Good? Bad?koolkat14They're alright for what they are. There is more length to the bosses I've noticed like Big Arm takes a bit more time to concur than Death Egg Robot, but somehow the fights just don't feel like they're tapping into the full potential of the system.
As for SmashBro's questions, I will answer those when I have the chance, I have yet to actually get far enough to be able to answer all of them. :) However I will say Metal Sonic's rival battle is a race like in CD, and it's honestly not as fun as in the HD version or as challenging and tricky as in CD. Also, the cutscenes as stated do not have full voice acting.
YUS! ....This calls for all caps........
GAMESTOP.BLACK FRIDAY.SONIC GENERATIONS.29.99$NEW. GOING TO BUY. PS3 WILL WORK ON 15 OF DECEMBER. YUS.
Believe it or not, I mostly just wanna play the Shadow boss...IN HD!
I never said I felt ripped off, did I? I merely said that the core game is not as satisfactory as the HD version. I am wholely satisfied with the HD version. The 3DS version is okay, but I didn't feel as impressed with it as other handheld Sonic titles.
Oh, BTW, Sonic Rush Space-Time Adventure review is on the home page. Word.

After your review I get the impression the 3DS was mostly an afterthought because they wanted a portable version of this game and Dimps can design a 2D Sonic with boost but trying to emulate the old school gameplay seems hard for them.
One bright thing about Planet Wisp is the first part of Act 2. You know, because it doesn't consist of miles and miles of red metal. It's exactly what the doctor ordered. :Dsrbrans
I did watch some planet Whisp gameplay on youtube and they did actually venture out into the actual planet where Sonic was jumping on the funny trees which in Colors we spent more time in the factory only seeing the natural side in backgrounds. Makes me think that the Generations level used was going to be in Colors but got cut due to time constraints.
Sonic's little line when he faces off with Robotnik, "It's time to scramble some Eggman, Super Sonic style!" was quite funny.macrules_640I hate Sonic's new voice and I hate his jokes..... Sorry.
Sonic's little line when he faces off with Robotnik, "It's time to scramble some Eggman, Super Sonic style!" was quite funny.macrules_640I did not think it was funny at all. It was cutesy. I like how CIassic Sonic reacted as soon as Modern Sonic said it though.

..I take it tropical resort is different from the one in the DS version of Colors?

Page 118.I watched a little of the Brainscratch comm on Generations and they were doing the Silver battle and I liked what they said about that. That this was the battle that should've been in '06 as opposed to the Table Rape infinite loop of death. Plus now you have Silver moving faster than a crawl which he should've been able to do.
Man I hate having to wait until Christmas. :(
And here's Blistered Thumbs on it.

Though I get annoyed with folks who now act like Colors was nothing though this site only gave Colors 6/10 and they whined about no multiplayer but at least they liked it.
nope. All the rival battles (in the HD one anyways) are all pretty entertaining. I don't remember the actual set-up for those being tightly integrated into the overall story so if you're big into the storytelling being super cohesive that might disappoint you a bit but the actual gameplay when you get into them is all good fun.whoozwah
Well I think it's safe to say that since Sonic 4 Sega became more focused on gameplay and took a cue from Nintendo in gameplay first, story second. Colors was pretty light on story and most of us were fine with that.
little to no story > badly written story.
So the days of the bad anime melodrama are probably gone so if you liked that, well may I suggest the comics for your fill of story heavy Sonic?

Uh... Yes? :P Well, for most part.Sonic should have as little story as possible like Mario.
If you want a riveting story go play MGS. :P
As much as I like a light stories for Sonic games as the next guy am I the only one who don't mind seeing a heavy story in Sonic game (nothing like 06 of course) mixed with the humour Colours had....I'll shut up now.koolkat14Sonic Colors had no humor. Every single joke fell flat. It made you feel like you were playing a game for kids 7 and under. What a terrible script.
