Wow, hockey73, Anderson is standing on his head against the Leafs! An incredible debut for the Sens..unfortunately. Not to be outdone by Reimer.

Shootout!

JohnBean42

Yep i saw the score. It makes it look like he was really unhappy here and didn't put in a full effort. But at the same time, Budaj didn't have a good night, probably a lot more to do with the defense.

lol Stewart had a 2 goal outing for the Blues, things just keep going downhill for this organization, well this year at least.

I wanted to watch the Caps/Sabres game, I don't care about seeing the boring Wild. Not to mention I see Detroit like every week.

What an awful deal for Dallas. What they gave up looks like they could of had more, like a first rounder. If I'm a Dallas fan, I'm mad. IDK how Joe got robbed.

There is also a report that the Avs are close to moving JML. Apperently, the Leafs are close. Or that's what TSN said. Burke said he's very close on a deal, and a couple of days ago, hinted at being close, and using a pick from Philly (3rd round) to do it. We need a DMan. Avs are falling. I like it if it happens. Also, conflicting things on that Stastny is on the market. Wow.

Nah, I don't see the Avs moving Stastny, I heard the rumor, well according to Eklund (not really credible, I know), it won't happen. I wouldn't be shocked if JML did get moved, he hasn't panned out and is a defensive liability.

If you don't mind me asking, where are you hearing these reports? I look at hockeybuzz for rumors, but that's about it.

If he does I'm going to have to make a new sig, lol.

Ya, I don't think he'll go, he's at about, what, 6.6 mil.? And JML would be a good addition to our DMan core. We got a rookie and sophomore playing big minutes, and Lebda and Komisarek aren't that good.

Oh, I either hear it on T.V and can't find a site that has it, or someone (reliable) Twitter or blog, like Darren Drager, Bob MacKenzie or anyone else I can find. If I hear it on T.V, I look it up online, and search something like "Paul Stastny rumors" and look through web search, news search on Google, or Realtime on Google, and look for reliable searches. I no some things I back up, but I do hear it one way or another.

Ah, yah I was just curious, I always go to hockeybuzz around trade time and FA period. They're not to bad in terms of reliability, but they put some pretty out there stuff. Anyways, JML needs a new start. I think he'd be a fine addition for any team looking for a puck moving d-man. Every year he's in the trade rumors, people expect too much of him here, and with our current defensive woes, I think it's about time for both parties to change it up.

Leafs need one. But the 3rd rounder is in play for a skilled Dman, and if it's him...IDK what else would be in play.

And Burke says he got really good offers for Schenn, a lot of teams came right at him for Schenn. But he's our best Dman for the time being. He's tough (most hits by a Dman, very few stupid penalties) and is young and fits, and is a great building block, unlike Versteeg. And there are STILL Brayden Schenn rumors out there, but Bob MacKenzie said it's have to be an amazing deal. Leafs can't do that, plus it's to much of a gamble. Kadri for Schenn? or low first rounder for him? Please, Lombardi woud never do that.

I know people were really prodding at the Leafs to trade Kaberle back in the day...Why do people always want Toronto's best defenseman?

The Sedins just amaze me every time

They dont get enough coverage

Daniel is in 1st spot for points, Henrick is 1st for assists and up there in points as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me8Kb6ZsBDs&feature=player_embedded#at=79

Imo they are the best players in the NHL right now

Mkavanaugh77
They get a ton of coverage here in Canada, and I would expect they would get more in Vancouver or all of B.C. Since Toronto has the Leafs, they don't get a lot of it, but they get a fair share.

Leafs win, Kessel GWG, Reimer shines again!

Hockey gods hate us, Rangers and Canes in OT. We could be 6 out if Rangers win, coulda been 5 if Cam Ward wasn't so good.

EDIT: Wolski with the SO winner for NY! 6 out, 1 back of the Sabers and Thrashers. Burke has some deals cooking, hopefully for a big-time DMan and a top 6 forward. Oh man, it's going to be interesting.

Joe Colborne has beem very good so far for the Marlies. Physical, 3 goals, an assist..looking good.

Finally Avs break the 10 game losing streak with a 4-3 win tonight against the Blues. Budaj actually had a pretty good game (can't wait for Elliot though), Stastny broke out of his funk, and Johnson had his first goal for the Avs. Overall a solid win, much needed (especially against a team we just traded with), hopefully we can turn this into some sort of streak.

Sigh...I should have started Reimer, the match up looked pretty good, but I started Luongo and Kipp instead. He's looked really good though, this next month will be an interesting one for a ton of teams fighting for a playoff spot.

I would start Reimer, he's been amazing. He's 2-0-1 in the last 3, scoring only 4 goals. Should won against Ottawa. He has more SO than out other 2 goalies combined:P He'll start a majority of the games coming up, but who knows once Gustavsson is back from his stint in the AHL and Jiggy is healthy. If they keep climbing the standings..there is no way Wilson and Burke can change that. Or, they better not. Reimer will be our starter next year, 50+ games maybe. Unless we bring in ANOTHER big name goalie like Vokoun or Bryzgalov. Doubt it though.

Gustavsson's heart problems scare me a bit, they do these minor surgeries, but idk. You see these athletes suddenly just drop dead mid game (like that guy in the KHL), I hope they find out what the exact problem is.

Ya, it scares me. Kid in the KHL, Jiri Fisher and probably more. He really should take more time off.

Interesting guys on waivers now...Nikolai Zherdev, Ales Kotalik, Craig Rivet, and Marek Svatos. But I don't think anyone will really take a chance on any of them.

Leafs have always been rumored to be interested in Zherdev since Burke arrived, but nothing this time. Svatos could be worth the risk...but I agree, no one will take a chance on them.

Burke likes an enigma like Zherdev? Interesting. Speaking of enigmas, the Penguins reacquire Alexei Kovalev from the Sens for a 7th round pick. Kovalev seemed to be at his best in Pittsburgh.

Could be a steal if he becomes a big-time player in Crosby and Malkin's absence. Svatos was picked up by Ottawa.

Season long 10 game roadie comes to a close with 15 points against the Quackers, ugly game where the Kings were outshot and had no power plays but still won :) 5-12 in the West are separated by 4 points :o

Omg Leafs win again! only 4 out! Not Remier's best game, but came up huge, and stopped 31 shots. Any other night with Price in net the whole game, we would of lost. But hey, 4 points out! Kessel got 2, Bozak got one and what? LEBDA got a goal:o. I'll take it.

The depth of goaltending in the system is ridiculous if Gustavsson can gain his stride, plus Ben Scrivens and Jussi Rynnäs. Reimer is deserving of getting majority of the starts down the stretch but I honestly Gustavsson can regain himself. I heard after that surgery he had a great game in his first back for conditioning, even if it was shootout loss. And Kessel is doing what he should be doing, and nearing his goal total from last year and most likely will break it. (:

Well, according to some scouts and people within the organization, they don't even think Remier is the best despite what he's been doing. Great depth= great trade bait in the future...maybe.

You can have "The Monster":D:P Stewart seems to be working out real well in St. Louis.

Canes won so 6 back. Hopefully Pitt. plays that poor again and we can win, and the Montreal beat Carolina and Detroit beat Buffalo.

I really do wonder if Macarthur will be moved. I actually read from a trusted hockey guy...think it was Darren Drager, that Macarthur + Philly's pick could net B. Schenn, maybe Simmons instead. Some think Burke could/has revieced offers that would get him MORE than the first and third round picks for Versteeg, maybe even more than Gardiner and Lupul for Beauchemin but that's pushing it. He may get an offer he can't refuse, and hooking up the Schenn brothers, something he desperatly wanted to do before taking Kadri 2 spots later, would be that deal.

According to Drager and Bob Mackenzie, ownership is pushing Lombardi to make a deal, as they expect to get past the first round, and if he's under pressure he may have to move Schenn or Simmons. Vancouver has also called, and Cody Hodgson could be available.

With Gaborik and M.Staal out the Rangers go into Washington and rip the Caps 6-0. Nice! Didn't see that one coming at all.

Big surprise right there. There really shouldn't be two NHL teams in Florida. Florida trades Bryan McCabe to the New York Rangers for TIm Kennedy and a 3rd rounder.

Back and forth in Toronto. Reimer has not looked right, and the commentators have mentioned it all night long. Phaneuf f***** up bad, then scored the tie breaking goal on the same PP.

And right while I type this, Reimer looks even worse. Jiggy is back though, not in yet. 5-5 game.

TOugh loss for Toronto!Mkavanaugh77
Yep. Awful D, Reimer didn't have a chance on 3 or 4 of the goals, and Leafs looked flat in OT and Reimer bailed them out. Thankfully, the offence has been there 2 straight games, or else we could have 0 points. 1 point is better than none. Kovalev...different jersey, same result. 5 out, Atlanta tomorrow. Go to Reimer, let him bounce back, and if he looks off early, like a goal or two, go to Jiggy.

Dang it, I'm having the worst luck when it comes to starting goaltenders, I started him tonight.

Glad Bruins one as a Bruin fan. Thomas does great as usual and the Canuck PP was shut down. I like the new looking Bruins.

I thought Canucks had the better game overall, had more scoring chances. Good game though, Canucks still in 1st overall.

Yes, Canucks didn't lose much from the game. They did have more scoring opportunities, but the score is the only thing that matters I guess. Good game and a thriller to the last 2 minutes.

The trade deadline is less than a mere 14 hours away. This is always one of my favorite days of the year, but I'm not really expecting as many trades tomorrow with so many teams still in contention for a playoff spot. I'm still crazy enough to get up at 5am Pacific to watch TSN's TradeCentre coverage though! Anyone else with me? XD

I kind of expect Liles to be traded by the end of today.
