[QUOTE="Los9090"]

[QUOTE="JohnBean42"] That's where it'll be interesting. When a guy like Richards or Ovie hits someone...it'll be interesting to see what happenes. Both have been suspended I think, I know Ovie has and Richards knocked out Savard the first time. Hopefully it DOESN'T come to that, cause someone will be hurt. Or what happens if one of these guys, like Crosby, get hit. That'll also be interesting. I wonder if one reason MacArthur was suspended and not Malone was cause MacArthur is in a big-time market and one of our best players, so he's saying "I'm not afraid to suspend teams best players, or big market guys"JohnBean42

Yeah, but there were some questionable high hits from the Leafs when they played the Sabres in that preseason game and Buffalo's Brad Boyes got a 2 game slap while no one on Toronto got a suspension. So you can imagine the theories there.

This is true. Oh well, we'll see. I'm sure we'll see something from a superstar player that could be suspendable.

Well, Connolly's injury is worse than thought, more than day to day, but still want him back soon. Wow, didn't see this coming:roll:

Yeah, I was scratching my head when Burke brought in "Tin Man". Sure, he'd be a great center for Phil Kessel...when he's on the darned ice. I thought TC would wind up in Phoenix or Florida.

Can someone explain what happened to Crosby? Players who have concussions are usually out a few weeks, and he has been out for months. What happened?monkeytoes61
You never know with concussions. All of them vary, from mild to severe... Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concussion.........Marc Savard's career is pretty much over because of his concussion. Tim Connolly has missed nearly two full seasons due to post concussion syndrome. David Booth missed most of a season from a blindside hit to the coconut.....Crosby took two hard hits to the head in a matter of 4 days. David Steckel's shoulder hits Crosby's head and as Crosby fell, his head hits the ice. Then Victor Hedman puts him into the boards. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3mrw2eWLOo.......Other concussions have led to premature retirements of Pat LaFontaine, Eric Lindros, and Keith Primeau. ttp://www.thecheapseats.ca/2011/04/top-10-list-nhl-careers-ended-by-concussions.html

I didn't want to believe it either. Figured the team has the personal (players and coaches) with leadership to overcome it.

Well, Burke knew he needed someone. He followed through on his promise for going after Richards (although him going to Afghanistan at the time was odd), but from the get go it was clear he wasn't coming unless we gave him A LOT of money, and that's not Burkes thing due to so many variables over 5-6 years that can happen to someone, and he doesn't like front-loaded contracts which I respect.. And he went on his promise to get a No. 1 Center, and to him, Connolly was the next best center available. And was cheaper and is on;y here 2 year. If Burke bring him or anyone else in for more, "fans" complain. If he doesn't do anything, they complain. In Toronto, darned if you do, darned if you don't.

Henrik Lundqvist stood on his head last night in Vancouver for the Rangers in a 4-0 shutout. NYR needed a 'W' badly.

Leafs are still rolling without a regulation loss!

Kessel and Lupul are looking really good together so far.

Tampa really needs to pick it up! Gotta win da cup!

I'm not sure is its that Roloson is getting old or what but he is surrendering a lot of goals.

Quickie with 3 straight shutouts sets a Kings record. And now holds the consecutive scoreless streak as well. Seems like the offseason moves are paying off and this team is scoring goals.

Leafs lose to Philly, but it is nice to see that not everybody blaming Gustavsson for once, because that game was definitely not his fault at all.

You let Jagr get away with THREE breakaways?

I seriously cannot believe how many times they have let him hang to dry.

I still heard a lot of complaints about him, but I agree. Gustavsson played very well. The D has been very bad on the road, especially last night. I won't judge them too much on the road...8 out of the 9 periods has had Gustavsson in net. I want to see Reimer for more than 1 period.

I know Reimer is good, but honestly, he hasn't really had to play the "great" teams all that much either. Reimer is probably expected to be in net in NY, but I'd like to see Gustavsson prove his haters wrong.

That's true. The best team he beat is, who, Calgary? But he's done what he's had to do: won those game, or gave his team a chance, like the comeback against 'Peg or the Avs lose. Didn't really get that much last year. I want to see Gustavsson succeed. Despite losing 6-2 vs. Boston, he looked good. 43 shots, a lot of PP shots, 2 PPG. Plus i was their first back-to-back game, with travel, and his first start. I think he got way to much hate.

I would say the Avs were probably the best out of the first five home games. I am still content for now, 5-2-1 at the beginning of the season is great. Hopefully they just keep it consistent this year.

And hell, last night's game was still awesome to watch. They pressed hard at the beginning of the second period, but Bobrovsky was there. D:

8-8 now:P It was 5-1 Jets. Leafs are playing very well. One defensive blunder led to a goal, not The Monsters fault. Brown with a goal, and a fight. Just needs an assist for the Gordie Howe hat trick :P

What a night for the NHL!

first and foremost is obviously that topsy-turvy game that the Jets and Flyers had, Plekanec wins a draw so clean that he scores on his own goalie (but win regardless), the Leafs spoil the Rangers' long-awaited homecoming, and Edmonton just gave the Capitals their first loss of the season!

Lupul with a hat trick, but the play of the night definitely goes to Brodeur for robbing Kessel of a goal.

Like I said in the previous season's thread after playoffs were over, I haven't been this excited for a Leafs team since 2002. The biggest thing right now is that they play solid in November so the haters will slightly step the hell back.

Maybe, but he's been hurt almost all year, so that isn't very fair. I wonder that, even after signing that big contract, Nash wants out...doubt it, but it'd be interesting how things go down there.

Florida Panthers off to their best start in 15 years. Yes, that is not a typo
