Lol, I love that gif. That was pretty funny when I saw it.
A bit off-topic, but I was wondering if any ball fans have read the 2 books written by Dirk Hayhurst,The Bullpen GospelsandOut of MyLeague? In my opinion, both are great books, and give a lot of insight into a player living the minor league life. I'm eagerly awaiting the book on the Jays.
Bautista can be plain stupid sometimes. Today is an example of it.

I don't want to rub it in, I'm just glad to see Floyd's ERA come down. If he and Danks could be more consistent and Sale more dependable then we'd have a pretty dangerous lineup combined with Quintana and Peavy.
And I wish umpires would all just die. They are attention seeking losers who add nothing to the game. NOBODY GOES TO A BASEBALL GAME TO SEE YOU!!!!! GET THAT THROUGH YOUR MORONIC HEAD! The Zack Greinke tossing was disgusting. The guy didn't do anything to anybody, and he did the same thing last year in the nlcs, and he gets tossed and the brewers have to blow their bullpen because of some loser umpire. I hate the umpires, and i hate bud selig. I wish we just had fuc*ing computers calling the games. And they wouldn't have this problem if the horrible commissioner didn't just let this happen. You know why you don't see this crap in the NFL? It's because Roger Goodell would fire their ass on the spot for embarrassing the league. TonyDanzaFanI really don't understand why we don't have a computer call balls and strikes at this point, I know there's all that tradition to think about but asking a human to call a 95 MPH with movement is insane.

TonyDanzaFanThere was a play today at the Jays-White Sox game where the Jays got out of the inning and were in the dugout, but were brought back out cause they overruled the strike 3 call to a foul tip. To me, it was a clear swing and miss. It didn't cost us, but if it had, it would have been infuriating. Same thing happened to the Rays (or similar).
I've lost count of the number of times the Jays have been screwed by umps. The Alvarez tossing was the biggest standout in my mind. And I know it is a growing concern.

Umps need some kind of punishment or consequence for their action, and it needs to be public. Umps are there forever until they retire or die, and let the power get to them.
And I just saw the Greinke thing. Wow. Ridiculous he and Roenicke were tossed. Ron wasn't even arguing with the ump and Greinke even said he was mad at himself, and I can see why, for not getting there in time.

Exactly. Greinke wasn't taking it out on anybody, he was just frustrated with himself. To toss him for that is disgusting. Until there is a new commissioner, we won't see a change. Bud Selig is the absolute biggest joke I have ever seen. MLB needs a Roger Goodell badly. Why is that Delmon Young gets 7 games for a hate crime, but Joel Peralta gets more for having a minuscule amount of pine tar on his glove? Ridiculous.I really don't understand why we don't have a computer call balls and strikes at this point, I know there's all that tradition to think about but asking a human to call a 95 MPH with movement is insane.[QUOTE="TonyDanzaFan"]And I wish umpires would all just die. Word. I hate seeing strikes getting called when the ball is way on the oustide, and then to top it off someone must whisper in the umpire's ear because an inning later the same pitch gets called a strike against the other team. Electronics just works so much better for that. You're still going to have umps calling check swings, fair balls, and if a runner is out or not, but pitches can be done by computer.
I think the umps union needs to agree to it...and why would they? They don't need any help, or that's what they think. JohnBean42
Might put Hawk Harrelson out of work, too.

No, that link shows the distance of every single home run hit by every single player this year. I just filtered for the derby participants, and averaged the results.
I remember saying "don't bet on Timmy Lincecum with his unorthodox delivery" and his dropping velocity, but people said "man you craaazzyyy" X360PS3AMD05That really isn't his problem. He's had control issues and it doesn't have to do with either. Despite a drop in velocity, his "stuff" is still great. He's just had some bad mistakes. I think this season is a lost one, but he'll be fine next season. People have bad seasons all the time. Look at Dunn just last year. Now, if he continues this trend into this time next year, then there should be cause for concern, but right now I'm not worried. But he's been a disaster this season.

I can't wait for the day he gets the pink slip. I really didn't like the show. Nomar, Kruk and Berman in '13 means I watch on mute.
It seemed like John Kruk and Berman were gong at it last night. Berman was making fun of Kruk when he was eating those ribs. ESPN in general sucks. Nomar's voice is SOOOO annoying, and he adds nothing as far as analysis goes. In fact, he comes off as a complete moron sometimes. John Kruk is just a DB in general, and so is Chris Berman. Last night during the derby, they were completely ignoring the home runs in order to talk about Chris Berman's kids who are in college. Who the hell cares? I certainly don't. I wish the MLB Network would broadcast it. The guys on there are so fun and it's all baseball. I could hear the Greg guy from MLBN in the background over the speaker last night. I understand why you have to have ESPN broadcast it, but why can't it be like the NFL draft where both networks show it?So at the halfway point, who do you guys seeing the individual awards? For me it's:
AL MVP: Mike Trout.
Runner up: Cano
NL MVP: Andrew McCutchen
Runner up: Joey Votto
AL Cy Young: Jered Weaver
Runner up: Justin Verlander
NL Cy Young: R.A Dickey
Runner up: Gio Gonzalez
AL ROY: Mike Trout
Runner up: Yu Darvish
NL ROY: Wade Miley
Runner up: Bryce Harper
AL Manager: Buck Showwalter
Runner up: Robin Ventura
NL Manger: Clint Hurdle
Runner up: Davey Johnson
I'm a Yankees fan, and i think anybody who takes last night seriously is a moron. The KC fans were just having fun. Would you rather them have fun and chant for Billy or just sit there quiet? The fans last night were awesome. Anybody who is legitimately upset about last night should kill themselves for being such sensitive idiots. TonyDanzaFan
Add @JoeyBats19 to that list. He wasn't impressed with the fans at all. But that might have been blow over from his frustration about his performance.

I agree. As a Yankees fan, I'm glad our guys are getting jeered. It's a part of sports, everyone hates on the heels. And right now, that's the Yanks. Good on KC for showing they are a great baseball town. It's been far too long since they've had anything worth cheering. Haven't been to the POs since they won it all in '85.

I like Bautista because his name is Bautista, he hits home runs, and it's an awesome story, but he comes off like a complete douche.Yes, they do try now that it actually counts. Carl Crawford robbed a home ron just a few years ago. That doesn't sound like a person not trying. I think as far as the game goes, the MLB AS game is my favorite. So do teams actually try in the All-Star game or is it like the NFL Pro Bowl?

There were a lot of players that were upset about it. Pretty much all the media as well. And when you start saying thing to his family, that's where you cross the line. The booing WAS all in good fun. But to be honest, it was a big much. You gotta let it go...is he really going to take him over Bautista, Trout or Fielder? No.

Then next time he shouldn't say he will beforehand. Also, who has more homers this year: Butler or Fielder?

What the f*ck are you talking about? All it was, was booing followed by Billy Butler chants. Who the f*ck said anything to his family? Jesus Christ, Cano didn't have a problem with it, so nobody else should. People need to stop being so damn whiny. And Ron Washington is a TERRIBLE manager. Why the f*ck did he bring in Joe Nathan and Matt Harrison over Sale, Weaver, etc etc? Oh yeah, because they are Texas players. Matt Harrison should not have even been an AS to begin with. 5 runs is a big lead, but once Harrison gave up 3 more, then everybody pretty much lost hope.

Fans targeted his family. THAT is too far. Even if it was just a select few, it's still just...classless.
The booing..well, I do understand why they did it.
