Hamilton has the ballpark, the motivation(contract year) and the lineup to do it. The only drawback is his propensity to get hurt. Kemp lacks the ballpark, the lineup and already got paid(having no impact whatsoever) but seems to be peaking in his career.
Hamilton also has more competition in every category than Kemp. Kemp's only real competition for any of the three categories is Braun.Hamilton has the ballpark, the motivation(contract year) and the lineup to do it. Carlos Zambrano for Chris Volstad is starting to look damn good for the Marlins.
If Josh Johnson was actually pitching like an ace (ar even close to that level) I'd argue to say Miami has the best rotation in the league. They are actually 2nd in starters ERA if you take out JJ. That Nationals rotation is pretty damn sick though.
[QUOTE="worlock77"][QUOTE="JohnBean42"] I haven't watched him yet, but he sounds like he plays the same way as Brett Lawrie: all out hustle. Which is good.JohnBean42
I've got MLB Gameday audio. Might have to start listening to some Nationals games.
I sadly do not. I will only be able to watch highlights and the games vs Toronto this year. And the playoffs if they make it. Lawrie vs. Harper will be very entertaining. It's around $20 (US) a year, and, unlike the MLB.TV service, no blackout restrictions.

I may look into it. About the Triple Crown...it could happen, but I fear Hamilton will be injured and that will derail it. Long history with injuries. I don't think Kemp will. But you never know. That's insane. First since Delgado in 2003. I'm very happy I got him on my fantasy team.:o Hamilton 4 homeruns tonight. Now leading the Majors with 14 two more then Kemp.

I'm not sure if what Hamilton did last night itself or the fact that right now. a good 30 games into the season, Josh Hamilton leads the MAJORS in all 3 triple crown catagories.
If he can keep up with the home run pace, then he certainly has a good shot. We know he can hit for average, but I'm not sure if he can lead the AL in home runs. Then again, I could be dead wrong. I think it's awesome that we have two legitimate triple crown contenders this year. But it is still too early to anticipate a triple crown. I remember everybody did that in 05 with Derek Lee and he ended up only leading in average...I think. Could be wrong, but I remember everybody was hyping up his triple crown, and for good reason, but last year also showed us that we have to wait until August/September to start getting excited about a triple crown.I'm not sure if what Hamilton did last night itself or the fact that right now. a good 30 games into the season, Josh Hamilton leads the MAJORS in all 3 triple crown catagories.

worlock77
I read that the kid already had a ball from Girardi and was tossing (or trying to anyway) it to another kid.
That, or he realized that Girardi used to play for the Cubs. "get you ball outta here, I don't want your excess curse rubbing off on us!"
Oh the bullpen :( Last year it was a 2.45 ERA, this year over 4. 14 HR given up. 9-12 is save opp. 5-12 now this year. Got the FIRST 1-2-3 save today form the new (and 3rd closer) Casey Janssen. I've said for a couple years, guy should get a shot. Really consistent, and really good last year..our best reliever. Offense will get going. We're 2 1/2 back at 17-14 and Bautista and Lind are sub-.200 hitters. EE is picking up the slack. Lind had a good day today out of the 8th spot, which was good on Farrell getting him out of the cleanup spot. KJ and YEscobar flip-floped at the top of the order has looked good (KJ is hitting the best of any 2B is the AL East)/ Everyone looks like their coming around. 4th in runs, 3rd is AVG with RISP and with 2 outs we're 6th. So things are looking up. Especially when Jose gets going. I'd rather be scoring less runs but see out pitching staff do what they've been doing, then see them regress and lose a lot of high scoring games. Getting the hitting to come around is easier than getting a bunch of young pitchers on track IMO.Jays need to start hitting and getting better performances from their pen.
12th in the AL in Avg - .238
9.28 era in 9th inning and later.
=
4th AL East. 16-14 record

They get better in those categories, they can start to gain and lead their division.

They've had a lot of distractions. Now it's the golfing controversy. My god the Red Sox suck so much this season.

I haven't watched him pitch, but what is wrong with Buchholz? Has he just....lost it?
They can still win this game.
EDIT: And they lose. Can't score with 2, on none out.
Jays sign Guerrero to minor-league deal.

I like it. Hit .290 with 13 HR last year. See what he's got left. If he plays well, it's a good DH off the bench, rather than Francisco.
^^ I like it as well. I think he will play well. He loved his time here in Canada back in his Expos days. I know he never wanted to leave. It was only the move to Wash. that made him go elsewhere. He should add a lot of much needed veteran experience they need right now. I think all he needs is a drop in weight in the bat, and he could be great again. He just seemed to have a slower than normal bat speed for him. Especially the way he swings.

As for the Yanks. I am much more comfortable with Robertson with the game on the line than Soriano. I don't like his stuff at all. I knew this was going to be the way things went with him when we signed him. Maybe throwing Hughes back to the pen with Pettitte coming back? Phil has pen stuff, imo.

Yanks really missing Gardner.
http://espn.go.com/mlb/story/_/id/7915369/major-league-baseball-poised-pick-1st-3rd-trick-move Not sure what I think of this, but Logan's reason of "us lefties can't do it!" isn't a good reason to ban it.Ring_of_fire
Righties can't do that nifty step move to first that lefties can. They should make lefties spin in a full circle before throwing to first to make it fair.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I don't know. All of the starting pitchers have seem to be doing s***ty this season. I'm not surprised about Beckett, I never liked him.Love seeing Beckett getting killed, I'm sure some Boston fans like it too. Master_LiveI want him out. Christ the Red Soxs are turning into the Jets.
Love seeing Beckett getting killed, I'm sure some Boston fans like it too. Master_LiveI love seeing them all get killed, especially Beckett. Something about him I just hate...and it isn't being a Red Sox. 6.01 ERA for that rotation. And they have "golf-gate".
Colby Lewis dominates with 12 strikeouts, giving up only 5 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. Fantastic start... except all 5 hits were homeruns. What a bizarre stat line. I love you, baseball.
I know is hyperbole, but Robertson ain't leap and bounds over Soriano. I personally think that Soriano is a POS, but he has been a successful closer in the AL East before. But yeah, this isn't a vote of confidence by Girardi. Master_LiveSoriano also doesn't have the same velocity that he once had. They did a whole thing on one of the ESPN podcasts where they talked about it and backed it up with stats. I'm sorry, but Robertson IS absolutely better than Soriano. He had one bad outing and gave up a homerun. I have more faith in him than Soriano who is a bum. As a Yankees fan, I am SOOOOO happy Montero hit a home run. Anything that puts the heat on Cashman makes me happy, that douche bag. I'll always root for Montero, even if he never plays a game for the Yankees. He could've been the heir to Jorge, instead we have the bum Martin and the bum-in-waiting Romine. I pray that Sanchez statys a catcher and lives up to his billing. He's a 19 year old prospect who is ranked 4th in the Yankees organization, and 81st in the 2012 BA top 100 rankings.
Jesus christ, Josh Hamilton is a BEAAAAST. I hope he hits 62 and breaks Maris' record. I'm a Yankees fan btw, but Skip Bayless said it best on thursday. He could've been the GREATEST player of all time." I kind of agree. If he played at this level, without the drugs, he very well could have been. TonyDanzaFan
I'm pretty sure Maris' record has already been beaten.

Axford's streak ends at 49 because of an error and a failure by him to pick up a ball, one of the worst games I've ever watched yet the Brewers won.

Came to say this. All records should have an *. Different eras, different records. I still am of the opinion that Ruth is the true King. Maris had 50 more ABs in '67 than Ruth did in '27. Though Bonds hit 73 with 64 less ABs than Ruth, ball parks were smaller and he was using PEDs. Not illegal in the league, just illegal to Babe.

Hot Shot Harper needed stitches to close cut over eye after slamming bat against wall and having it hit back. Luck runs out Hot Shot. Could have been a career ender.

The worst I've done when frustrated in sports was sledgehammer a basketball into the floor at too great an angle and had it come back and get me. Had a friend brake his throwing hand during a final in a baseball tourney out of country.
Bautista has 3 HR in two games. Mind you, it's Target Field, his favorite road ball park (10 HR, .360 hitter there in 10 games). Also an opposite field hit. Hopefully, it's a sign of things to come.
And Janssen has been great as a closer. 2 straight 1-2-3 9th innings. Why mess with it when Santos comes back if he keeps it up? I know it's only 2 apperences...but he's been the best we've had so far....hell, I don't remember the last 1-2-3 9th. So it's a nice change, to say the least.
