The PS3 difference.
Sadly, just like with NCAA Football 08 and All-Pro Football 2K8, PS3 owners are stuck with an inferior version of Madden. While the game runs at 60 frames per second on Microsoft's box, Madden only clocks in at 30fps on Sony's console. The result? The gameplay isn't nearly as smooth as the 360 version and even stutters at times (see the difference in this comparison video). And that's the reason why we're scoring the PS3 edition slightly lower.

That Indy/Colts preseason game killed me last night. I wanted to play Madden so badly after it, I couldn't go to sleep. If I had to play the PS3 version I would deal with it, but Madden on my 360 at 60 fps is going to be like heaven.

i think 08 has a legitimate chance at AAA(not saying it will but it could)

it's EA, what can you expect?

It's not like less people will buy the game then if the PS3 version scored better.. So why try to make 2 equally good versions when you can simply do one good version and then making a cheap port to the other system..

The Xbox 360 is just the Juggernaut when it comes to multiplatform games, simply as that.

Was it inexcusable that last years madden on 360 was only 30 fps? It was the second time madden was on the 360.

The devs just need time to learn the freakin hardware.

Weren't the first two Madden games on the 360 locked at 30fps? Wouldn't it be prudent to give the same timeframe to the PS3?

Nice that the 360 version is better and I won't doubt that.

But honestly, we're talking about an american football game here, not something that needs alot of frames to look fluid. If one ran at a constant 30fps and the other at 60 fps you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. But it seems the ps3 version has trouble with the 30 frames it has.

This is definetly another developer issue and I dare guess the 360 is the home plaform which makes it another crappy port.

The ps3 can run games with alot more going on and better graphics better than this. Example F1, Ninja Gaiden (60fps+1080p) or motorstorm.

I love these people probably stillliving in there moms house never have been part of a software development team or have to push a product out to market call a publisher lazy. Its not like they are going to push back madden because Sony totally made a Blue ray player that can't keep up with a console a year older and $200 cheaper. Nope Madden is coming out for hell or high water even if they have to downgrade it. I mean look at how many developers have to push there games back just to get it to work on the PS3 if any one is lazy it was Sony for making such a crippled console.

i never understand all the different play types, so i just do the madden choice on defense. on offense i pick long throws to star receivers.
