Alienware, why the hate?

Question for the master race people and warlocks all around, why the hate against Alienware? I don't have one but I would like to know why people who own an Alienware PC get treated like manure on GS.

Their desktops are overpriced but their laptops and the X51 aren't too bad (at least not here in the UK) considering what's in them. bobbetybob

I read pre-built, I think this is a big one. Alienware owners are looked at as lazy (wannabe) pc gamers who would rather get ripped of than piece their together own custom machine. I think seed of the contempt lays there.

i have a alien laptop ond love it, the next one will be a alien too cause the illuminated keyboard is so good, cant go back to regular laptop anymore after being spoiled

Many people can't pay for it. If I were super rich I would have an Alienware PC. It would look rilly cool run rilly fast and be rilly expensive but who cares? I wouldn't have to think much about configuration and such. Just get an awesome looking Alienware and I'm set.

That's what I thought, the tech savvy part of the hermit is what empowers him. The hermits do not want to be associated with a new breed of hybrid folk, pc gamers with console ethics.

They are garbage. Spent $2000 on mine and lasted two years. Keys fell off the keyboard, constant overheating, constant blue screen, harddrive issues, and for all the power it had my cheap Asus booted faster and ran smoother. Even the touchpad was a piece of crap. The only thing that the Alienware had that was good was the screen. It's a complete rip off.

I don't hate the brand. I wouldn't buy one. But, if I got one as a gift, I'd be delighted.
