They're unnecessary arguments that you feel the need to make so that you can appear better than others.  To be honest it just makes you look petty.  And stop saying it's a debate forum

No it's not, and especially not when you derail threads over miniscule issues

[QUOTE="jwsoul"][QUOTE="rjdofu"][QUOTE="jwsoul"] In a fashion perhaps. I have encountered problems with Raid Zero on my old PC which took me days to fix DAYS! It was not a simple solution either. I think in this day and age some people havent got the time or the wil to spend fiddling about with PC components! Just because you enjoy it does not mean i do or the next fellow. Like i said the line is blurring between making your own and pre built. Remember these Pre Built PCs from the right company are close to what you could do yourself. The cost is coming down because the companies who make the PC's themselves can by stock at a lower price than the average consumer. That coupled with the warranty is starting to win over many people.

Fair enough, that's a valid point, it's a personal thing, and I understand people don't want to waste their time. But I believe people who build their own PC tends to avoid mistake & able to fix it better than just buying the whole thing.

I fully agree with you. I think promoting people to build there own is healthy and certainly a more intelligent approach. Just giving that side of the coin for the consumer like me who does not want that hassel. Tho shopping around is a good idea generally in life.

Glad that we can agree on something.

Not really. As I already said, I'm not arguing because I'm personally hurt, but because you're choosing to leave an opening. If you expose a weak spot, it's fair to strike it.

Seems to me another situation where people judge others for what they do with their own money. If I had the cash to blow, and need for it I'd get one.

You've never seen anyone leave an opening while sparring? Leave an arm or leg accidentally exposed while playing paintball? You don't have to be handicapped to have a weak spot; you just have to make a mistake.

[QUOTE="lowe0"][QUOTE="clyde46"][QUOTE="lowe0"] The post I quoted was about how Alienware owners shouldn't look down on other PC gamers with less expensive hardware. How is "PC gamers shouldn't look down on console gamers with less expensive hardware" not relevant to that?

Its always been that way, from way back.

And that makes it correct because...?

What of it?

You're welcome to spend your money however you want, but I'm curious as to how you justify the exorbitant price of the more expensive premade machines when you consider you're paying for someone else to assemble those parts for you, especially when the research required to build a PC is minimal (watching a YouTube video is all you need) and less than two hours need to be reserved to actually build a PC.

Given that I'm arguing that everyone should be treated equally here, and that your argument is inherently dependent on a perception of inequality, it was pretty much a non starter from the moment you posted it.

Since everyone is saying price is the only issue, that should tell you where the hate is coming from, and if they were cheap everyone would have got one instead of building their own pc, unless you enjoy building pcs.

If the price wasn't an issue I still wouldn't buy one because I prefer to be in control of which parts I use to assemble a system.

Why not? You scared that they are using sub-standard parts?

If I gota complain about anything its the motherboard, for being matx and not having enough features. Dell usses Pc power and cooling psus, and they are one of the best.

If you bought a custom pc, you would have exacty the same components with a motherboard that has all the features you want.

Also, there's no way to deny the facts. A high-end alienware costs $4000. A custom PC with the same parts costs only $2500.  You're paying $1500 for a case and an alien's head.

Dell uses proprietary hardware so its a pain in the butt trying to find replacement parts. I had to replace a motherboard in my mums Dell and nothing on the market would fit in the normal orientation.
