[QUOTE="dgsag"][QUOTE="NPD5623"]sales are really down from last month. 360 has a healthy lead over PS3 PS2 outsold PS3.........DonPerianPS2 nearly outsold the 360... It's also a hundred dollars cheaper.
You could argue the same thing over ps3 vs 360

Uh oh, logic is coming into play now. :o
The title should read "PS2 still outsells PS3" because the 360 did. And it had a huge bump in sales due to its price drop.
LOL. People who actually have bills and care about owning a home don't buy video games because they are a waste of time.Those sales are disgusting. PS3 sales are embarassing. 360 sales are crap. The wii is doing pretty dull there too though its outselling evrything bascially. But holy crap at the DS sales. DSi confirmed success. really poor month in all.
ActicEdge
So far the PS3 has been in last place since the beginning of the year. If Killzone 2 can't help the PS3 at least outsell the 360, what can? Also when do you think this year will the PS3 be at least second place instead of last out of the current consoles? I think the only time the PS3 outsold the 360 was long time ago when MGS4 came out.

The difference is it very rare that the PS2 outsells the 360 and it is just as rare for the PS3 to do the same. So it is not about price. The PS2 just had a really good month. A big deal would not be made of this if it was something common. The 360 outsells the ps2 and the ps3 every month for the most part. So it does not have as much to do about price. The ps2 just had a good month. Even with the really good month the 360 still sold more.Instead of the TC trying to put spin in the title the title should be "The 360 outsells the PS2 and outsells the PSP and outsells the PS3 and Wii and DS Outsell everything.The title should read "PS2 still outsells PS3" because the 360 did. And it had a huge bump in sales due to its price drop.

cows sure do love to talk about there highly rated games, but it looks like no one is buying em.

not even a lot of the Cows.Lol
still I found it pretty entertaining watching the damage control for the PS3.
we will all get to see it again next month, and the next and the next...................
[QUOTE="Number_1_Gamer"]Hey, remember when the 360 was outsold by the PS3 last years? What did the 360 fanboys have to say to that? And lol at PS2 nearly selling as much as the 360. Don't even say "but it didn't" crap, 360 kids have said that too when the PS3 "marginally outsold the 360 early last year. Anyway, I really don't care about sales. I'm having too much fun with Left4Dead.That's 6 straight months the PS3 has had a year-over-year decline in sales. What excuse do the cows have now? "Just wait" doesn't cut it anymore. Sorry.

Last time I chacked the PS3 was playing catch up and cows were warned that MS obviously understood the importance of the Holiday Shopping Season. Quit trying to diminish the poor PS3 sales...
Cows on NPD day: "Haha, the PS3 is selling almost as well as the 360 even though the 360 is cheaper!"
Cows at any other time: "The 360 costs more than the PS3 because you need to add the cost of live membership, a WiFi-adapter, charge kit, and blu-ray player!"
System Wars in a nutshell.

QFT. A 32% YoY drop in PS3 must be making Sony exec's head ache badly

Im sure they are really worried. But for some reason cows act like PS3 is doing good because it ONLY sold 50k less than 360. Looks like they forgot that a Sony system is supposed to sell like 200k more than a MS system in every single continent!!!
Wow @ PS2... It's. Freaking. 9. Years. Old.
PS3 did poorly as usual. 360 wasn't as bad, but still not good.
Despite the Wii selling the best out of the consoles it still saw the largest YoY decrease. (Shows how well the Wii usually does!)
Holy god @ DS(i).
-lol to the people who think the PS2's numbers are somehow embarrassing to the PS3 or to the 360. It is freaking $99. Not to mention has an epic library of games. It sold well because it's a really great (cheap as hell) console. (I still wonder how long the $99 price point will help though.)

Correct. The PS3 was deemed this gen's certain victor before it even launched.
right now, the PS3 will be lucky to retain 50% of the PS2's marketshare.
No Killzone 2 to be found. I'm not surprised, but it's still disappointing.musicalmacDidn't you get a bucket load of abuse last month for commenting on how much KZ2 sales had dropped and were likely to again this month? Looks like you were right in the end.
360 still sold more and you make that look like a bad thing, yet PS3 is ONLY 50K behind which isnt bad right? :roll: this should be more like wow PS2 outsold PS3

Well considering how some cows harp on about how the PS3 will eventually outsell the 360 because it will have a longer lifespan, if you take into account PS2 sales since the other consoles stopped being made I'd say it would be lucky to have a third, hell maybe a quarter, of its marketshare of last gen. Its running about a third at the minute I think....By 40%!?!?360 still sold more and you make that look like a bad thing, yet PS3 is ONLY 50K behind which isnt bad right? :roll: this should be more like wow PS2 outsold PS3

six months of yoy decreases has got to be getting sony execs worried, they'll be clamouring for a price-cut yet still be unwilling to incur further losses. I'm guessing they'll tough it out but they've got to be concerned.sonny2dapHell I'd be more worried about software sales. If thats where they are supposed to make up the difference between selling their hardware at a loss and the best selling game comes in at number 10, is a multiplat and can't even make 100k I'd be more than a little concerned ....

Not to the irrational, it would seem.
In more interesting news, RE5 on the 360 still has legs. That's something I didn't imagine happening, crazy good RE5 sales.

Well TBH, I do believe the PS3 eventually outsells the X360, but only because of Japan. And it won't happen until the next consoles are out, when nobody other than cows cares. At best, I think the PS3 takes 30% marketshare this gen. Right now, the PS3 is holding about 21% of the marketshare, give or take.
It would be like the iPod and Zune releasing a new MP3 player and the iPod doesn't outsell the Zune until a few years after they launched. Nobody with any business knowledge would think the iPod performed well.

Maybe, but if you use that logic then the PS2 must easily have what 80% of last gens market with its continued sales? There is no way in a million years the PS3 will ever reach 40% of this gens' share.[QUOTE="sonny2dap"]six months of yoy decreases has got to be getting sony execs worried, they'll be clamouring for a price-cut yet still be unwilling to incur further losses. Blame whoever is in charge of their marketing IMO Sony's last well-promoted exclusive was Resistance 2. I can only imagine the shaft Infamous will get on the marketing front, especially the way they dropped the ball on advertising KZ2.
Sony sets a new record here , never in the history of game consoles did a brand predecessor manage to outsell the newer console in its third year .
Great going Sony !
Here, let's try this again TC - because you seem to want to spin this positively by listing things out of order and trying to make Sony look like they're not totally tanking:
With their consoles occupying the bottom three spaces on April's hardware charts, and sales down across the board, you'd think it would be tough seeing the bright side of life for Sony.
For you and me, it would be.
While a drop to $99 spurred the old PS2 into life, resulting in a handy 38% increase in sales, PS3 sales were down a whopping 32% from April 2008, and PSP sales were even worse, down 39%.
This news follows Sony posting it's first loss in 15 years, a record 1.5bnUSD defecit - a 3bnUSD disparity between earnings forecasts and actual profit.
* Nintendo DSi - 827,000
* Wii - 340,000
* Nintendo DS Lite - 215,000
* Xbox 360 - 175,000
* PlayStation 2 - 172,000
* PlayStation 3 - 127,000
* PSP - 116,000
Perspective is GRAND isn't it, TC?
