It might be sad, but other than the death threats and some of the immense cursing I've seen are they unreasonable? I'm sure any fanbase would be mad to see one of their favourite multiplatform games go exclusive to a platform that it was never on and they have no interest in.
GD1551
Yes. :|
So if xenoblade, mario or zelda went exclusive to the xbox today, would if be unreasonable for fans of those games to have a negative reaction to that?
The only way Mario and Zelda would be on an Xbox or Playstation is if Nintendo stopped making hardware. That ain't happening anytime soon so come up with better examples.
As for Xenoblade, no I wouldn't have an issue with it. monolithsoft have made games for other systems prior to being a 1st party dev for Nintendo. Then again it would probably be a new IP but if there next project was canned by Nintnedo then nope, no proble if they did it on another system.
Bayonetta 2 is a 3rd party game. Maybe it's because I grew up in a time where 3rd party franchises moved to other systems a lot, which was common in the 90s.
1. Bayonetta 2 is never made
2. Bayonetta 2 is WiiU exclusive
This, kids is called a false dilemma. How do I know? Well, because I could very easily imagine the following scenario:
3. Bayonetta 2 is a multiplat, with timed exclusivity on WiiU
Nintendo get the hardware sales they want, and people who supported the first game get their sequel.

Not getting a Wii U...yet. I'm definitely picking this up, if I get one though. Still wish it was multiplat though.
Yeah I'm a gutted that its A Nintendo exclusive because I loved the first game and how many series go exclusive after they have been multiplat, its always the over way round. But I except I probably wont play it unless I buy a Wii U instead of getting .
There is always a slim chance it could come to different systems with a prefix after it's name ala Sigma with Ninja Gaiden.

And their say would probably be: screw the fanbase that is responsible for the success of the first game and consequently the making of a sequel. Probably a good move from a business perspective, but sure as hell doesn't make me like them.

Screw over the fanbase? There is nothing stopping fans of the original from buying a Wii-U to buy this game. And why are you assuming that everyone who enjoyed Bayonetta aren't also Nintendo fans?
And are you really expecting Nintendo to invest in a game, and not expect a return on that investment?

More like they actually make Bayonetta 2 happen, but you need buy a WiiU to play it...
Why should Nintendo pay for Xbox/Playstation games?

It's ok, your side lost. It isn't a big deal.
I really do not understand this decision on part of Platinum games.
If you really want to get your product into as any hands as possible, you do NOT make your sequel to a multiplat game an exclusive. It is even more baffling when you take into account the fact that the Wii U isn't even going after the same audience that Bayonetta had, nor is the Wii U the succesor to either console that Boynetta 1 was on.
This is just a dumb move IMO. They screwed themselves out of so many potential sales and will likely **** off their own fanbase with this. Of course all of this is fine to Nintendo who won't suffer at all from this, but I worry that this is going to hurt Platinum games which really sucks.

Unfortunately, it was one of two choices:
Do you know that their franchise was abandoned by sega? Without Nintendo jumped in, there'd be no Bayonetta 2. It's Nintendo who decides which platform it'll be on.I really do not understand this decision on part of Platinum games.

Yes but there are plenty of other companies who could have jumped in. I feel Nintendo is the WORST choice just because the series will now be exclusive on a platform where it likely WON'T sell much if at all.
I don't think the first game did too well, and now I am betting the sequel will bomb even harder...
Nintendo kinda sucks at handling non-first party IP's. Just look at the Fatal Frame series. The series essentially died once they picked it up. The idiots don't even bring it stateside anymore...

I know the fact that Nintendo absolutely walked up and down the competition's face is, well, annoying and offensive. Still, you should get past that and just accept it.

Well personally I'm not very happy either, since I'm forced to buy a Wii U to play this game, and tbh I don't like their first party exclusives at all. But it's certainly a good thing for devs, since a slim chance is better than nothing. It's too soon to say whether this one will bomb or not as we know nothing about Wii U future sales and its fanbase. With the current direction with the new consoles, Nintendo is trying to appeal more to the core crowd while offering enough gimmick to please the casual crowd. I'd expect a decent amount of core gamers will get Wii U while less casuals will buy it. Being exclusives doesn't mean it will sell less either, look at Ninja Theory's Enslaved & heavenly sword. Crossing fingers...The entire reaction from the gaming community is just sad....All last gen, people called for Nintendo to get some good 3rd party exclusives and focus more on gamers. They start doing that and the entire gaming world loses their s**t. Everybody is too busy playing system wars to even realize the situation. The game was literally dead....no other 3rd party wanted to step in, Sony didn't step in, Microsoft didn't step in but Nintendo did. There's nothing stopping you from from buying a Wii U to play the game, just blind fanboy allegiance and unwarranted hate. Hell, there's even another perfectly good Platinum Games exclusive on the system right alongside it.

By making it exclusive? BS DETECTED !!!
ANd it's like someone else said on the WiiU thread. Some people would notice Bayonetta 2 on the 360 and pS3 but it would easily get lost in both their libraries. Noe anyone that wants a Wii U or is going to get a Wii U knows it exists, and it will stand out more on a younger library.[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"][QUOTE="rjdofu"] Do you know that their franchise was abandoned by sega? They were talking about Bayonetta as a brand, and not specifically Bayo 2. Furtherore, Nintendo picked it up out of the scrap heap, as it was officially cancelled.
